Harassment

I'm being harassed for no reason by reprobates. Please pray that the police would intervene and that God would punish my enemies who are hurting me without cause.

We hear your cry for justice and relief from the harassment you are enduring. It is deeply troubling when others seek to harm us without cause, and we stand with you in seeking God’s intervention. The Bible assures us that the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed and a stronghold in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9). We are called to trust in Him, even when the wicked seem to prosper for a time.

First, we must address your request for God to punish your enemies. While it is natural to feel anger and a desire for justice, Scripture teaches us to leave vengeance to the Lord. Romans 12:19 tells us, "Dearly beloved, don’t seek revenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’" Instead of praying for their punishment, we should pray for their repentance and transformation, that they might turn from their wicked ways and come to know the Lord. Jesus Himself taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we ignore injustice, but we trust God to handle it in His perfect way and timing.

We also lift up your request for police intervention. It is wise and biblical to seek help from the authorities when we are being wronged. Romans 13:3-4 reminds us that governing authorities are established by God to bring justice: "For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same, for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil." We pray that the police would act swiftly and justly in your situation, providing the protection and resolution you need.

Let us also examine our own hearts in this matter. While you are clearly the one being wronged, we must ensure that we are not harboring bitterness or unforgiveness, as these can poison our spirits and hinder our relationship with God. Ephesians 4:31-32 urges us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness does not mean excusing their behavior, but it frees us from the burden of carrying hatred in our hearts.

Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is enduring harassment and injustice. Lord, You see the pain and fear that this situation has caused, and we ask that You would be a shield and refuge for them. We pray that You would intervene in this situation, softening the hearts of those who are causing harm and bringing about repentance in their lives. Father, we trust in Your justice, knowing that You will repay all wrongdoing in Your perfect way and time.

We ask for Your protection over them, Lord. Surround them with Your angels and grant them peace in the midst of this storm. We pray for the authorities involved, that they would act with wisdom, discernment, and urgency to bring resolution to this matter. Give our brother/sister the strength to endure and the faith to trust in You, even when the outcome is uncertain.

Father, we also pray for healing in their heart. Guard them against bitterness and unforgiveness, and fill them with Your love and peace. Help them to see this trial as an opportunity to grow in their reliance on You and to witness Your power at work in their life. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Lord, we ask that You would turn this situation for Your glory. Use it to draw others to Yourself, including those who are causing harm. May they see Your light shining through our brother/sister and be convicted of their sin. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world and who intercedes for us before Your throne. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to cling to God’s promises and to seek fellowship with other believers who can support and pray for you. Psalm 37 is a wonderful passage to meditate on during times of injustice, as it reminds us not to fret over the wicked but to trust in the Lord and do good. Remember, you are not alone, God is with you, and we stand with you in prayer.

If you have not already, we also encourage you to seek wise counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian mentor who can provide guidance and support as you navigate this difficult season. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." You do not have to walk through this alone.

Being singled out and targeted wears a person down, not just the fear or the anger, but the sheer exhaustion of feeling you have to stay on guard all the time. We hear that weariness in your words, and we're genuinely sorry you're living under that weight.

Harassment without cause cuts deep because it's so senseless. You don't have a conflict to resolve or a misunderstanding to clear up; you're simply dealing with people who've decided to make you their target. That's unjust, and wanting the police to step in is completely reasonable. If you haven't already, keeping a simple log of each incident, date, time, what happened, any witnesses, can give law enforcement something solid to work with. It also helps you stay grounded in facts when the whole thing starts feeling surreal.

We want to gently address the part about punishment. When someone's hurting us without cause, the desire for God to act against them can feel not just natural but righteous. And God does care deeply about justice, Scripture is filled with His anger at those who oppress the innocent. But our part is usually smaller than we wish: cooperating with legitimate authorities, taking sensible precautions, and entrusting the outcome to the only Judge who sees everything perfectly. That doesn't mean the ache for vindication is wrong; it simply means we lay it in His hands rather than letting it consume ours.

Father, You see what's happening, and You see the fear and frustration this has stirred up. Please move the police to take this seriously and act wisely. Guard this person's safety and give them clear-headed judgment about when to report and when to step back. Lift the exhaustion and replace it with a steady confidence that they are not alone. We ask this in Jesus' name.

It is a sore trial to be harassed by the ungodly, and your cry for relief is not unwarranted. Yet let us ever be careful in what spirit we ask for divine intervention. When we call for punishment upon our enemies, we would do well to remember that we ourselves were once enemies of God, and it was free grace alone that made us to differ. You ask God to punish those who hurt you without cause; but I must ask, did you never in your own life smite at God without cause? And yet He, in Christ, has satisfied justice for all who repent. Take heed, then, that the bitterness of the wronged does not drown out the voice of mercy, for the same cross that shelters you is held out still to the chief of sinners.

The police are a divinely appointed means of restraining evil, and we may lawfully pray that they would step in and shield the innocent. God often uses the arm of earthly authority to beat back the waves of persecution. I have seen the Lord touch the hearts of the cruel so that they became generous, and I have seen Him hang up the Hamans of this world upon their own gallows when His people cried unto Him. He knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and the floods of trouble shall not overflow you, for the Divine Sovereignty that marks out the bounds of the sea sets also a limit to the rage of men. Rest in this: not a hair of your head can be touched without His permission.

But consider this also: the divine discipline often employs the shafts of the wicked to wean us from this world and to teach us our dependence. Like the eagle that stirs up her nest to teach her young to fly, the Lord sometimes permits harassment to drive us nearer to Himself. When David was hunted like a partridge upon the mountains, he learned to sing, “He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters.” Those very trials became the occasion of a divine interposition that magnified the faithfulness of God. So, even in this, you may yet trace the hand of a Father who loves you.

As for your enemies, commit them to the Judge of all the earth, who shall do right. Justice has already been fully satisfied at the cross for all who believe, and for those who refuse, a dreadful recompense awaits that only God can measure. Vengeance is His, not ours. Did the Master not say, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you”? This is the way of the cross, a life of self-denial that confounds the enmity of the world. Oh, it is a hard saying, but the Spirit who gave it will enable you. Perhaps, as with Abigail intercepting David’s rash anger, God will use your patient endurance to be a testimony, and He may even pluck some of those enemies as brands from the burning.

I will pray for you, that the peace of God which passes all understanding may garrison your heart, that you may feel the gentleness of the Lord upholding you, and that His wisdom shall direct your paths. Should the trouble press still harder, look to the Man of Sorrows, who when He was reviled, reviled not again. All your hope is in Him. And remember this: there is coming a day when the dry tree shall flourish and the green tree of worldly prosperity shall wither. The low tree lifted up by grace shall mount to the stars, and the high tree of pride shall lie outstretched in ruin. Until then, wait patiently, and let your soul be as a weaned child, for the Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The soul that is long-suffering is like a spark falling into the deep: whatever unexpected thing falls upon it is quickly quenched, but the soul it disturbs not. For of a truth there is nothing so impenetrable as long-suffering. You may talk of armies, money, walls, or any other thing, you will name nothing like it. I hear your cry that reprobates harass you without cause, and your desire that God would punish them. But consider the teaching that love is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. It does not merely overcome vice when provoked, but does not even suffer it to arise at all.

When the Lord commands us, He says, Love your enemies, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you. And why? That ye may become like your Father which is in Heaven; for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. This is not weakness, but the very perfection of strength. For it is possible, and even easy, to overshoot the measure of those sayings, doing good not to kinsmen only, but even to enemies.

Yet you suffer, and I do not dismiss your pain. The work of salvation consisteth not in doing evil, but in suffering evil. And when we suffer persecution, others are in distress as though they themselves so suffering; so we are sure that when we are comforted, they think the enjoyment also their own. What more humble-minded than this spirit? And there is use in perils: that we should not trust in ourselves, but be kept in humility, and become partakers with Christ, for the sufferings of Christ abound in us.

As for your enemies, do not fear that they remain unpunished. The Lord did not say that the wrongdoer continues without penalty, but rather, "Do not thou punish." This enhances the fear of him that smiteth, if he persist, and comforts him who is smitten. And remember the testimony: He sat down on the right hand of God, from henceforth expecting till His enemies be put under His feet. All unbelievers, the daemons, all who oppose His meek and gentle reign, will one day be subjected. But it is for the sake of the faithful who should afterwards be brought forth that He delays, not from any lack of righteousness.

You speak of the police, and that is proper for order. But place your chief hope elsewhere. When those abandoned wretches do evil and seem to suffer none, it is not from God's long-suffering but from their abuse of it that they become worse. Do not look to their example, but to the gentler persons who gain great benefit from enduring. Let love, like some excellent husbandman, take her seat inwardly in your soul and not suffer these thorns of wrath to spring up. The publican, the reprobated and condemned, can yet go before you into the Kingdom of Heaven if he repents. So pray for your harassers, that they too may turn, for if God is shown to be good even by acts of disobedience, how much more by your patient endurance will His love be displayed.

When you’re targeted without cause, the ache runs deep. Those words about reprobates feel all too familiar when you’re facing raw, undeserved hostility. David knew that exact weight. He spent years hunted by enemies whose fury made no sense, yet he consistently turned his heartache into prayer. He didn’t pretend the threat wasn’t real, and neither should you. God hears the cry for help, even when it comes wrapped in desperation for police to step in and for the harassment to stop.

It’s not wrong to long for justice. The Scriptures themselves groan for the day when every crooked thing is made straight. Human systems often fail. People with authority can miss the truth, and the oppressed end up without a shield. That’s why David repeatedly anchored his hope not in chariots or judges, but in the God who sees. He prayed, “Vain is the help of man.” That doesn’t mean we never call on the police; it means our ultimate trust can’t rest there. Officers and courts are limited instruments at best, but the Lord’s throne is founded on righteousness and justice. He defends the afflicted and lifts up the poor. So ask boldly for their intervention, yet hold that request loosely, knowing the highest court will settle the accounts.

There’s a tension in these prayers, though. In the Psalms, David cries out for God to scatter his enemies, to beat down his foes. And yet the same David, when pursued by Saul, refused to take vengeance into his own hands. He left room for mercy, even for those who hated him. That’s hard when the wounds are fresh. I hear the natural cry, “Punish them, Lord.” But if we’re not careful, the desire for their harm can begin to corrode our own soul. It’s striking how often we plead for grace for ourselves but instinctively want strict justice for everyone else. The Lord knows their deeds. He will repay, whether through conviction that leads them to repentance or through the consequences they’ve stored up. Let that be His business. Your call is to stay on the level path, unencumbered by rocks of bitterness, so that you aren’t tripped up while fleeing the danger.

What you need right now is refuge. David spoke of abiding under the shadow of the Almighty, hidden in the secret place. When human protection feels thin, God himself becomes your covering. He can hold back the storm or give you peace within it. Use your voice to pour out the complaint, the weariness, the anger, but let it all land at His feet. He is not put off by the noise of your lament. Then, as He sustains you, your own eyes may yet witness deliverance, and the sacrifice you offer will be one of joy rather than clenched fists.

Hold fast. The God who made your enemies His own footstool is still at work. Pray for His defense, pray for earthly authorities to act with integrity, and then rest in the truth that justice belongs to Him. He will not forget your cry.
