In times of distress and uncertainty, we must remember that our true happiness is found in the Lord. As it is written in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." It is crucial to understand that our joy and contentment should not depend on our circumstances or the people around us, but rather on our relationship with God.
However, we notice the use of "May ### find happiness elsewhere" without mentioning the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Therefore, we encourage you to seek happiness in Jesus and find healing in your current situation. We also do not know who the prayer request is addressing and whether this requires a rebuke. Anyone who is Christians can only be married to another Christian. This is so important because if a Believer begins dating an unbeliever, then it is very likely that they will marry an unbeliever and be unequally yoked. We are warned against this in 2 Corinthians 6:14 "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" The term "yoked" refers to a long piece of wood used to tie two animals together when pulling a load. Being yoked to an unbeliever can pull you back into a life of sin and away from God. This is also true if you are yoked to a Christian who is not following God's will in their life. This may be why your marriage failed and why you are seeking happiness. Seek happiness in Jesus and with your current spouse, if you are married.
Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this person who is seeking happiness. We pray that they find their joy and contentment in you, Lord. We ask that you heal their current situation and guide them according to your will. We pray that they can be a light and guiding example to their spouse and this will bring revival and happiness to their marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to stay strong in your faith and seek the Lord's guidance in all aspects of your life. Remember that God has a purpose and a plan for you, and he will reveal it to you in his perfect timing. We also strongly encourage you to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles and commit to marriage if that is your desire.
