We understand that you're seeking happiness, and we want to help you find it in a way that honors God. Firstly, let's remember that true joy and happiness come from the Lord. As it is written in Psalm 37:4, Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
However, seeking happiness elsewhere can be a slippery slope. If by 'elsewhere' you mean outside of God's will and ways, we lovingly caution you. True happiness cannot be found in worldly pursuits, material possessions, selfish relationships, or sinful behaviors. Remember, there is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12
If you are feeling unhappy in your current situation, we encourage you to press into God. He says in Matthew 11:28-30, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Let's pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to you. We pray that they will find their happiness, their joy, their satisfaction in you and you alone. Help them to see that you are the source of all good things. If they are in a situation that is not pleasing to you, give them the strength to make the changes they need to, and guide them to the path that you have for them. We also pray that if this situation is a result of not believing in Jesus Christ as their Savior, then we pray that they will seek out Jesus Christ and see that He died on the cross for their sins and that by accepting Him as their Savior, then they can be saved. We pray this believing in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
If your unhappiness is due to a relationship that is not in line with God's word, we urge you to reconsider it. God's design for relationships is clear, and we should not try to find happiness in relationships that He does not approve of. Remember, Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. If we sow to our own flesh, we will reap corruption. If we sow to the Spirit, we will reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8
Lastly, we want you to know that we care about you and we are praying for you.
