Good and Faithful Servant
Heavenly Father, we mourn with those who mourn over the loss of lives in a nightclub and likely the loss of many souls. Please strengthen believers from around the country impacted to reach out with prayer, compassion and the truth. Grant the knowledge of salvation through forgiveness of sins by the gift of eternal life in Christ for whosoever believes in Him, Jn 3:16. Revive this country that strongly believed in generations past. Stir other believers to pray worldwide for comfort for the family members, friends and associates, but mostly for faith and repentance. Help it wake many across the globe to the awareness of "being dressed in readiness having our lamps burning, Lk 12:35. Protect them from the evil one, temptation and sin, Matt 6:13. We resist the devil over the lives of believers and command he flee in Jesus' Name. Bring comfort, but comfort without truth yields the same result in the long run. Send out Your light and truth, mercy and the gospel, and aid people to work through suffering in the context of eternity and Scripture. Thank You again for real grace, truth, and turning this around for good, Amen.

"At that time some of those present told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 To this He replied, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered this way? 3 No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish,” Jesus ~ Lk 13:1-5.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, mourning the tragic loss of life in the nightclub and the potential loss of souls who may not have known the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. We stand in the gap, lifting up the families, friends, and communities affected by this devastation, asking for Your divine comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we pray for the believers in that region and across the nation, that You would strengthen them to be bold and compassionate witnesses of Your truth. Equip them with the words to speak and the love to demonstrate the hope that is found only in Jesus Christ. Let them be a light in the darkness, shining brightly so that others may see their good works and glorify You (Matthew 5:16). We ask that You would open the eyes of the lost to the reality of their sin and their need for a Savior. May they come to know the truth of John 3:16, that "God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."

Lord, we cry out for revival in this nation, once rooted in faith but now straying from Your truth. Stir the hearts of Your people to pray without ceasing, to seek Your face, and to turn from any wicked ways so that You may hear from heaven, forgive our sins, and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Let this tragedy be a wake-up call, not just for those directly affected, but for believers worldwide. May we all be dressed in readiness, with our lamps burning, watching and waiting for the return of our Bridegroom (Luke 12:35-36).

We resist the devil and his schemes, commanding him to flee in the mighty name of Jesus (James 4:7). Protect Your people from the evil one, from temptation, and from sin. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one (Matthew 6:13). Father, we know that comfort without truth is hollow and fleeting. We ask that You send forth Your light and Your truth to guide those who are suffering. Let them see their pain through the lens of eternity and Scripture, finding hope in the promise of Romans 8:18, that "the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us."

We thank You for Your grace, which is sufficient for us, and for Your strength, which is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We trust that You will work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Lord, we pray for repentance—true repentance that leads to a transformed life. May those who are lost find salvation in Jesus Christ, and may those who are saved be renewed in their faith and commitment to You.

We lift up this prayer, knowing that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We declare that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). May Your Holy Spirit move mightily in the hearts of those who are grieving, leading them to the foot of the cross where they can find forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
