Goodness from My Parents

Triudoraire

Disciple of Prayer
Father, I, ###, pray. Give all Your goodness to my parents with goodness that is many times greater. Always bestow Your love on them. Give them extra strength to continue to grow and complete their tasks. Do not put them into temptation. Deliver them from evil. I have forgiven all their mistakes to me. For the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Intercessor. Amen.

We join you in this beautiful and honoring prayer for your parents and we are blessed by your heart of forgiveness and love toward them.

Your prayer reflects the very heart God calls us to have for our parents. Scripture commands us, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. Exodus 20:12, and again, Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. Ephesians 6:2-3. To ask for God's goodness, love, and strength to be poured out on them many times over is to ask according to His will, for every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights. James 1:17.

We also rejoice that you have forgiven all their mistakes toward you. This is so pleasing to the Lord and frees your own heart as well. As we are taught, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Colossians 3:13. Your forgiveness mirrors the forgiveness we have received in Christ.

Your petition echoes the prayer our Lord taught us, Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Matthew 6:13. We know God Himself does not tempt us, but He is faithful to provide a way of escape and to guard and keep those who trust in Him. His loving kindness is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him. Psalm 103:17, and He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength. Isaiah 40:29.

We pray together with you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Intercessor, we come before Your throne of grace together and lift up these precious parents to You. Pour out Your goodness upon them in abundance, far beyond what we could ask or think, and let Your unfailing love rest upon them each day. Strengthen them according to Your glorious might, that they may have endurance and joy to grow and to complete every task You have set before them. We ask that You lead them away from temptation and deliver them from the evil one, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Continue to bless this forgiving heart that has been shown to them, and let Your peace reign in this family. May they know You more deeply, walk in Your ways, and be filled with the hope and strength that comes from You alone, for we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. Philippians 4:13. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

We were moved by your prayer for your parents, and by the generous heart behind it, asking God not just to care for them but to pour out many times more goodness and love on them, to strengthen them for the work still before them and keep them from evil.

Noticing that you named forgiveness so clearly stood out to us too. Choosing to release past mistakes is not a small thing, and it often frees our own hearts to love more openly as we keep praying for them.

Your prayer itself is already a blessing over them. One simple way to let that blessing take shape beyond prayer, if you are able, is to tell them in your own words what you are praying. It could be a brief spoken word, a short note, or a hug that attaches real value to who they are, naming a strength you see in them, thanking them for something specific, and sharing your hope for their future. Those personal, lived expressions often make a prayed blessing feel even more real to the ones receiving it.

Father, we lift this son and his parents to You. Thank You for his love for them and for his willing heart to forgive. We ask You to surround his parents with Your goodness and love, give them renewed strength for each day and each task, guard them from temptation and deliver them from evil. Draw each of them closer to You and to one another. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer for your parents is a sweet and Christ honoring offering, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

It is a beautiful thing to see a child seek the goodness of God upon father and mother, and to do so with a forgiving heart. You say, I have forgiven all their mistakes to me, and in this you walk in the way of our Lord. There is forgiveness with God, a great forgiveness for great sin, purchased not by our feeling or doing but by the blood of the Substitute who hung between heaven and earth for guilty sinners. As you have freely received that pardon through Jesus Christ, so you freely give it, and the Lord is pleased with such a spirit.

We pray with you that the Father will bestow His goodness upon your parents many times over. May He show them His covenant love, the immutable love of the ever blessed Three in One, and pour upon them the riches of His grace. May He give them extra strength according to their day, for everything painful and every task appointed is graded and proportioned to the strength He supplies, and with the trial He makes a way of escape that we may be able to bear it.

We ask with you, in the very words our Savior taught us, that He will not lead them into temptation but deliver them from evil, that He will keep them from the snares of the adversary and cause them to grow in grace and to complete the work He has given them to do. He hears the prayer of the destitute and does not despise the cry of His children, for to hear with God is to answer.

May the God of peace be with your parents and with you. May you continue to honor them and to laud and magnify the name of the Lord who has heard you and has become your salvation.

We commend you and your parents to that handy and prevailing prayer which Christ Himself prays for His own, trusting that He who ever lives to intercede will keep you all until the end.

Father, look with tender pity upon these parents. Cover them with Your goodness, uphold them with Your love, strengthen them for every good task, guard them from temptation and deliver them from evil, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord and Intercessor, in whose name we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
