Please pray for my parents

Please pray for my parents. They’ve been given ### moths to vacate the house. They’re in their late ###, no stable job, they dry fish and sell but not on a daily basis since they have to buy the fish from another vendor , no savings to build a house nor move to a new one with mountain of debts to pay. They’ve invested what little they had in businesses that failed. Only divine intervention can save them. I’m married but ###% financially dependent on my husbands family and I don’t think they’ll want to help out my family. Please pray for my family my heart is breaking i can’t sleep at night worrying about them.

We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you in bringing your parents and your own burden before our Heavenly Father. To watch those you love in their later years face the loss of their home, with no stable work, no savings, mounting debts, and failed investments, is a deep sorrow that can indeed steal sleep and peace. We weep with you and we also lift our eyes to the One who sees and who provides.

We are reminded that our God is a refuge for the afflicted and a provider for those in need. He knows the number of months they have been given and He knows every debt and every fear. We want to encourage you to cast your cares fully upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 says to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Your sleepless nights worrying, though understandable, will not add a house or pay a debt, but our Father invites you to trust Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And we cling to the promise in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

We also honor your desire to care for your parents, which is pleasing to God. Exodus 20:12 calls us to Honor your father and your mother. Even as a married woman, your love and concern for them reflects that commandment. At the same time, we encourage you in your marriage. You mention being financially dependent on your husband's family. In God's design, marriage is a covenant where a husband and wife become one flesh and bear one another's burdens. We encourage you to share this burden openly and gently with your husband first, seeking his wisdom and leadership, and praying together about what help, if any, you as a couple might be able to offer, or what other godly counsel and practical help you can seek from your local church family and community. It may be that the Lord will provide through unexpected means, through work, through the generosity of believers, or through wise restructuring of debts. Matthew 6:31-34 reminds us not to be anxious saying what will we eat or what will we drink or with what will we be clothed, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

We gently want to address something we noticed in your request. You asked for prayer and spoke of divine intervention, yet you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you, if you have not already, to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name alone that we can come boldly before the throne of grace for your parents and for you.

So we pray together with you now in the name of Jesus.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up these dear parents in their late years who are facing the loss of their home and the weight of many debts. Lord, You see their labor drying and selling fish, You see their lack of steady income, their failed ventures, and their fear. We ask for Your divine intervention and Your mercy. Provide for them a place to dwell, open doors for honest work and daily provision, and grant them wisdom to steward what little they have. We pray You would make a way where there seems to be no way, and that You would show Yourself as their provider and shelter. We pray for this daughter whose heart is breaking and who cannot sleep. Lord, calm her anxious thoughts, guard her heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and help her to rest in You. Give her wisdom in how to honor her parents while also honoring her marriage, give her husband a heart of understanding and leadership, and give them both unity and counsel from godly people around them. We pray that this whole family would seek first Your Kingdom and trust in Your goodness, remembering Psalm 37:25, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. Draw them all closer to Jesus, that they may know salvation and hope in Him. We ask all these things according to Your will and for Your glory, in Jesus' name, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying without ceasing, to keep sharing your heart with your husband, and to reach out to a Bible believing local church for practical support, prayer, and wise financial counsel. The Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Keep trusting Him day by day, and we continue to stand with you in prayer.

We have been holding you and your parents in prayer since reading your note. Watching those who raised you face losing their home in their later years, with no steady income except drying and selling fish when they can, debts pressing in, and no savings to move or rebuild, and feeling unable to help financially because you depend on your husband's family, is such a heavy burden to carry. It makes sense your heart is breaking and sleep has been hard.

You are loving both families well in a very difficult middle place. Feeling torn does not mean you are failing anyone. The worry you feel at night shows how deeply you care, and we want you to know you do not have to carry it alone.

With a few months before they must vacate, one gentle step that can sometimes ease the panic is to help your parents connect early with local support while there is still time. Many towns have a church, local charity, or nonprofit financial counselor who will sit with families to look honestly at housing deadlines, debts, and what low cost housing or assistance might be available, and help make a realistic plan. You do not need to have the answers yourself, just helping them make that first contact and gathering information together can bring a little more clarity. If sleeplessness and worry continue, please also talk with a trusted pastor or counselor and with your doctor for support for yourself.

Father, we lift this family to You in Jesus' name. You see these parents in their later years, their work, their debts and the fear of losing their home. Provide for their needs, guide them to wise and kind help nearby, and show them next steps day by day. Comfort Your daughter as she worries through the night, guard her rest, and give her wisdom as she loves and supports both families. We ask for Your mercy and direction over them. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your heavy burden has been laid before us and we have carried you and your parents to the throne of grace. To watch those who gave you life come to their late years with no stable work, no savings, a mountain of debts and now the sorrow of being told to vacate their house, and to feel unable to help while you are yourself dependent upon your husband's family, is a trial that well may break your heart and banish sleep.

We would speak to that sleepless anxiety which so naturally besets you. As I have often said, I have never discovered that anxiety has comforted anybody, or that it has brought any grist to the mill, or any meal to the barrel. Well, if a thing does not pay, what is the good of it. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. It wearies your mind, it weakens your hands, and it steals the rest which you need to seek the Lord with a clear spirit. Your care is real and your love for your parents is right and honourable, for we are to bind the good teachings of our parents continually upon our heart and to show loving adherence to them, but that love is best shown not by wearing yourself away with worry, but by casting all your care upon Him who cares for you.

Though the starving citizens of Samaria did not know it, the Lord had made provision in abundance for all their hunger and there it was within a stone's throw of the city gates. The Lord had done it. So we pray that He who sees your parents' need, their daily labour in drying and selling fish, their failed ventures and their debts, will open a way where you now see no way. We do not know what form His provision will take, whether by giving them favour with their landlord, by opening more steady work, by wise counsel to order their debts, or by moving the hearts of others to show kindness, but we know that our God is not in debt to any man and yet He gives according to His own sovereign goodness and mercy to those who call upon Him.

We pray also that you will consider your deeper debt. Scripture shows us that by nature we are all in debt to Divine Justice and hopelessly bankrupt, for we cannot meet one in a million of the claims recorded against us. We are prisoners until Christ sets us free. If your parents and you have not already done so, may this affliction drive you to the only sure hope, to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who paid the debt of sin with His own blood for all who trust Him. There is no better provision for any kind of life on earth than to know the Lord and to have a new heart and a right spirit.

Let us pray together. O Lord, our heavenly Father, look in mercy upon these aged parents who know not where to lay their heads. Thou knowest their years, their toil, their debts and their fears. Provide for them as Thou didst provide for Samaria, and give them a dwelling and daily bread. Give wisdom to those who must decide their future, and give peace to this daughter who watches and weeps. Take from her the anxiety that cannot help her and grant her sleep and trust in Thee. Give her grace to walk honourably in her marriage, to speak with meekness and truth within her husband's house, and to honour both her parents and her husband as Thy word commands. Lead this whole family to seek first Thy kingdom and to find in Christ the payment of their greatest debt. Hear us for Jesus' sake. Amen.

Be steadfast in prayer, be diligent in what little you can do, seek godly counsel for your parents concerning their debts and their tenancy, and rest in this, that your heavenly Father knows what things you have need of before you ask Him.
