Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The trail of every broken trust in man must lead us to the place where trust in God becomes not a theory but a desperate, clinging necessity. You have learned the lesson in the wounding, that the Scripture speaks true when it says it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes or in any child of dust. That bitter knowledge, allowed to drive you out of yourself and away from the arm of flesh, may yet be the strange and singular season for mercy to visit you.

Consider the mercy which is not cold and distant, but the mercy of the heart of our God. He is the living God. He is not an impalpable force, not a name whispered into the night, but a thinking, active, working, personal God with a great, warm, loving heart. When you cry out for mercy upon those who hurt you, and for yourself in not heeding His Word, you are knocking at the very center of His being. He delighteth in mercy. The only ground upon which such mercy can rest is the Atonement provided, the Ransom found in Jesus Christ His Son. God trusted Christ to be the Savior; Christ came commissioned. Trembling soul, trust Him whom God has trusted, and that covering is for you.

The comfort you seek for this night will not be found by looking inward for a blaze of joy or a feeling of strength. That were to make a savior out of your own emotions. The comfort must be this: “Your Word has quickened me.” It is the promise applied by the Spirit that brings life and solace, not the mere memory of old comforts. Take the Word itself and press it to your bosom. God says, “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people.” He loves to see His children look happy. In the face of Jesus Christ, the light shines, and there is a specific tenderness that not only forgives sin but does so without upbraiding.

Hagar sat by a well in the wilderness, certain God had forgotten her, and there the Angel of the Lord met her with a home question and a comfortable word. So it must be for you. The God who sees you is not far off. He has visited this poor world, assumed our nature, and drawn near. Lay hold upon Him now. Tell Him, “I will trust You, for I am sure that the witness of God is true. I will trust You to deal with the wrongs, to forgive the sins, and to be my God through the dark hours.” Then you may say, “Now blow, you winds, rage, you waves, the God that rules you all is now my Friend.”
I appreciate and receive this message and word with gratitude amen

How fitting that you turn your mind to the words of the Psalmist even as you seek rest: “It is better to trust in the Lord than to trust in man.” You are not foolish to believe in Christ and yet to have been wounded by those who should have walked in love; you are learning by bitter experience what holy Scripture means. This is not the sting of folly but the sharp lesson of the kingdom, for even the blessed Paul knew what it was to be forsaken by friends in his hour of trial. He wrote, “All men forsook me,” and yet he did not lose hope, for he added, “But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me.” So with you: the hurt is real, the betrayal grievous, but it is no sign that Christ has abandoned you. It is the very furnace in which trust is purified.

You ask for a prayer of comfort this night, and I say to you: the Comforter Himself draws near. When Paul said, “God comforted us,” he did not hide the blows but revealed the mercy that carries us through them. Your conscience testifies that you tried to do right, and even in this sorrow, that pure testimony is a greater comfort than ten thousand untroubled days. Do not let the sloth of despair creep in, as if God had forgotten you. He who saw the apostle through shipwreck, stripes, and cold betrayal will not let you drown in a few sharp waves. For indeed, as I have often said, the mercy of God is not only to pull us from destruction but to provide strength when we would faint. You contribute something precious: this acknowledgment of your own need, this crying out to Him who alone is faithful.

You ask mercy on those who hurt you, and I praise God for that grace in your heart. This is the very oil that feeds the lamp of your soul, and it will give you light in this dark moment. Remember that nothing incenses God so much as a pitiless heart, and nothing transforms our own misery like the act of forgiving. When you release them, you are not letting them escape; you are placing them in the hands of the only Judge who understands all. And for yourself, that you did not heed the warning sooner, do not be crushed. Did not our Lord say to the man healed after thirty-eight years, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come to you”? He spoke not to cast down but to lift up, to turn our stumblings into holy vigilance. So your regret is not a proof of ruin but the door to a wiser walk. Let it teach you; do not let it devour you.

Sleep then with this comfort: you are not held by the faithfulness of men but by the unchanging mercy of God, who calls the worst of sinners to be trophies of His long-suffering. He knows what you need tonight and will apportion grace accordingly. You have not contributed much, yet you have done the one thing needful, you have cast yourself on Him. And as you rest, remember that mercy shown to others is mercy stored up for yourself against the day when you will cry, “Have mercy upon me, O Lord, after Thy great goodness.” Lay all your hurt before the throne, and then close your eyes in peace, for the God who held Abraham’s hand when the knife was raised is holding you even now. He will not let you go.

The cry for mercy is never lost on the ear of God. In fact, mercy is the very thing you are asking for and it is the very thing He delights to give. Mercy means not receiving what we deserve. When you ask God to have mercy on you, you are standing in the right place, because the Lord has declared, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.” It is a comfort to know that your hope does not rest on your own perfection but on His sovereign kindness. He does not deal with His children in a merely punitive way, but in a way that corrects and draws us back to Himself. So let that merciful kindness be your comfort right now.

You have seen the truth so clearly in that Scripture: it is far better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. That is not a foolish realization but a profound one, taught by the Spirit. The pain you feel from being hurt on purpose is real, and your disappointment in yourself for not paying closer attention to God’s word is heavy. Yet God often allows us to reach the end of our own scheming and our own strength so that we finally stop trusting in ourselves and learn to trust fully in the God who raises the dead. The work of man is, in the end, vain. But you are not left to the mercy of men; you are held by the God of all mercy.

In the dark and quiet of this night, when sleep feels far away and your mind replays the wounds, remember that He is the God of all comfort. He gives songs in the night, even when you do not understand the purpose of the affliction. You can rest in Him, not because you have everything figured out, but because He is faithful in the very things He allows. His word revives the soul and gives hope. So whisper to Him, “Lord, it is in Your hands. You will take care of it.” There is a limit to what God permits, and He sees the wrongs you have suffered. You can leave judgment with Him and find rest for your own soul.

Your prayer for mercy on those who hurt you shows that His law is being written on your heart, creating a desire that goes against the flesh. The natural man wants vengeance; the Spirit-led heart can cry for mercy. This is the work of the new creation within you. Through faith in Jesus Christ, your standing before God is secure in grace, not in your flawless track record. For the spirit of man, dead in trespasses, is brought to life only by believing in Him. He is the one mediator, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself to touch you and bring you to God. Your access to the Father is through Him alone, and that is a firm hope.

So as you close your eyes, let your mind rest not on human failure, but on the surpassing greatness of knowing Him. He created you for fellowship with Himself, and in His faithfulness, He will complete His purpose in you. Even now, He is working good in this situation. Hold on to the promise that His merciful kindness is your comfort. Trust in His mercy forever. May He quiet your heart with His presence and grant you a deep and abiding peace through the night.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand with you in prayer during this time of seeking comfort. It was our privilege to lift you before the Lord, asking Him to wrap you in His peace and remind you of His unfailing love, especially when trust in others feels broken. We prayed that He would soften your heart toward those who have hurt you and that He would heal the pain of not having leaned fully on His Word as you now recognize.

If the Lord has answered this prayer in ways you can see—if His presence has brought you comfort, if His truth has settled more deeply in your spirit, or if He has begun to mend what was wounded—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. On the other hand, if the night still feels heavy or the burden remains, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to continue praying alongside you, trusting that God hears and works even when we cannot yet see.

May the Lord continue to draw near to you as you seek Him through Jesus Christ, our Savior and the One who understands every ache of the human heart. We pray that He fills you with His peace that surpasses all understanding and reminds you that your trust in Him is never misplaced. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
