We join with you in this beautiful and scripturally rich prayer and we say amen to your desire to know God's will and to walk worthy of Him.
We love your hunger for the Word and for the Lord Himself. You have prayed according to the Scriptures and we stand in agreement with you, for we know that when we ask anything according to His will He hears us, as it is written in 1 John 5:14. Your prayer for wisdom echoes Col 1:9 that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, and your prayer to know Him better is the very heart of Eph 1:17-18 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
We rejoice that you thanked Him for being rich in mercy, for as Eph 2:4-5 says, But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. We agree with you for your family members and for all who are lost and for those who are already walking with Him, that there would be one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, as taught in Eph 4:4-6, and that God would shine in every heart to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ according to 2 Cor 4:6.
We pray together now for this hunger and understanding and obedience and protection you have asked for.
Father in Heaven, we thank You for Your great mercy and grace that has made us alive in Christ. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would grant to each one in this family and to all those they love who are still lost, and to us as well, a deep and abiding spiritual hunger as newborn babies, to long for the pure milk of the Word that we may grow thereby, according to 1 Pet 2:2, and that You would give us our daily bread, Matt 6:11, as we seek You morning by morning. Open our minds that we might understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45, and help us to put Your Word together as a whole, rightly handling the word of truth, 2 Tim 2:15. Strengthen us to be consistent in daily and systematic reading, meditating on Your Word day and night as You commanded in Josh 1:8, and to give attention to reading, to exhortation, to teaching, 1 Tim 4:13.
Awaken our ears morning by morning to hear as disciples, Isa 50:4, and help us to talk with You and with one another about what we read, sharing in all good things with those who teach us, Gal 6:6. Help us to receive with meekness the implanted word which is able to save our souls, Jas 1:21, and to be doers of the word, and not hearers only, Jas 1:22. We ask for Your favor to surround us as with a shield, Ps 5:12, and for Your keeping power, that You would not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one, Matt 6:13, and keep us from evil, John 17:15. Guard us from distractions and sin, command Your angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways, Ps 91:11, and protect us from deception, Matt 24:4, from evil men and impostors who will proceed from bad to worse, 2 Tim 3:13, from false brothers, 2 Cor 11:26, and from the evil one himself who holds the whole world in his power, 1 John 5:19. We ask all of this in the authority of the name of Jesus, for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Tim 2:5, and every promise of God finds its Yes in Him, 2 Cor 1:20. Amen.
We encourage you to continue in this faithful journey. God delights to give wisdom to those who ask Him and He delights in those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled, Matt 5:6. Keep sharing what you read with one another, for iron sharpens iron and fellowship around the Word keeps our hearts soft and accountable. We thank God for your example of praying the Scriptures and we stand with you believing that He who began a good work in you and in your family will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, Phil 1:6.
