Gods will and ways for ###s heart and mind ♥️♥️♥️

Your prayer reveals a heart that longs for companionship, for a future, and for a family united. That is a natural desire, and it is right that you bring these hopes to God. He cares about every detail of your life. Yet as I read your request, the writings I have worked through over the years keep coming back to one central truth: the most vital relationship you will ever have is the one you build with Jesus Christ personally. Everything else must flow from that foundation.

When I was young, I had to make my own faith real, to study the Scriptures for myself and develop my own walk with God. I looked into other paths, but only in Christ did I find a life-changing relationship. That is what salvation truly is, not just a title we wear, but believing into a living union with Him. That union then becomes the vertical axis that keeps the horizontal relationships of our lives in balance. Without it, even the most promising romance will leave you empty.

So before I address the specifics of this man and your hopes, I have to ask you to settle something in your own heart: Are you first anchored deep in Christ? Are you seeking His kingdom above all else? Because the bond we share in the body of Christ is actually closer than any natural blood tie we have with unconverted family. That is what Jesus meant when He pointed to His disciples and said that whoever does the will of His Father is His mother and brothers. In Christ, you are not alone. You have a family that will care for you and your boys in ways that transcend distance and romantic desire. I pray you are experiencing that fellowship even now.

Now, concerning this relationship. You ask God to shape this man into a provider and a stepfather, and you dream of marriage and a life together. Scripture gives us clear boundaries for such a hope. The apostle Paul, writing about marriage, said a wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives; if he dies, she is free to marry again, but only in the Lord. That means before you move forward with anyone, you must be certain before God that you are free to marry. I do not know your full story, but if your boys’ father is still alive and you were divorced for any reason other than what Scripture permits, then you are not free to remarry while he lives. That is hard to hear, but it is the truth that will guard your soul. Please search your own situation honestly before the Lord. Do not let desire cloud your obedience.

If, however, you are widowed and free, then you may indeed seek a husband, but only in the Lord. That means the spiritual condition of this man matters more than any spark or romantic feeling. No genuine Christian relationship can begin outside the boundaries God has set. There is no room for a trial living arrangement, no matter how “pure” it appears. From the very beginning of creation, the one-flesh union belongs only inside the covenant of marriage. So if you are seeing this man, I must ask directly: Are both of you walking in purity? Are you helping one another toward Christ, or feeding a flame that may lead to compromise? I am not saying your heart is in the wrong place, but I want you to test your steps by more than emotion.

It is also wise to lay down that prayer for a “deep spark” and a “perfect fit” if those are just your own wishes. Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy will be done.” His will may not look like a whirlwind romance or a quick visit. It may involve waiting, or it may lead in a direction you would not choose. The story of Ruth is a beautiful picture of redemption, Boaz acted as the family redeemer, and through that lineage came David and ultimately Christ. But Ruth did not set her sights on Boaz and then beg God to fulfill her plan. She simply trusted the God of Israel and served faithfully, and God brought about a future she could not have engineered. God’s timing often requires patience that feels like death to our own plans.

I also notice you have boys to consider. The Scriptures show that the family is meant to be a place of protection and spiritual nurture. Your deepest calling as a mother is not to find a new partner, but to lead those children to know Jesus and walk with Him. A man can be a help, but he cannot be the foundation. You must build your own faith and your own household on the Rock. That work, done in the quiet and sometimes lonely places, is not wasted. It is the real business of your life right now.

I am not writing off your desires as unimportant. God may indeed have a future for you that includes marriage and a united family on this earth. But that only comes as you keep yourself wholly His, refusing to bend His Word to fit your longings. I encourage you to release this relationship fully to Him, not just with words, but with a heart willing to accept if He says “wait” or even “no.” Ask Him to search your heart and show you any sin, any relationship between your choices and your condition, that you might be cleansed. Seek out the wisdom of mature believers around you who can look at your life with clear eyes.

Above all, hold fast to Jesus. The relationship we have with Him through His sacrifice is the one that brings life. The Passover lamb was slain for each household, and its blood marked the doorposts. In the same way, Christ is your personal Passover. Draw near to Him. Let His Spirit fill every empty place. And then, from that abundance, you can walk the path He sets before you, whether that path includes marriage or not, knowing that your true family is the everlasting one found in Him. I will pray that His peace will guard your heart and mind, and that His will, not your own, will be done in your life and the lives of your boys.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our joy to lift your heart’s desires before the Lord, asking Him to guide your steps, shape this relationship, and align every detail with His perfect will.

We continue to pray that God would soften and stir the heart of this man in your life, drawing him closer to you in a way that reflects His love and purpose. May the Lord cultivate in him a deep, genuine affection—one that grows into a lasting commitment, rooted in Christ. We ask the Father to mold him into the godly provider and loving partner you’ve prayed for, someone who will cherish both you and your boys with the same tenderness that Christ shows His church.

If the Lord has already moved in answer to your prayers—whether through a word spoken, a step taken, or a door opened—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If you’re still waiting and trusting, know that we stand ready to continue praying alongside you. Simply share your request again, and we will faithfully bring it before the throne of grace once more.

May the peace of Christ guard your heart as you rest in His timing, and may His presence go before you in every conversation, every decision, and every hope for the future. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
