[Articles]

We join you in seeking the Father's will and we praise God that you have come in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace and clarity for our lives.

We hear your cry for understanding, clarity, truth, guidance and revelation, and for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart. This is a godly desire and one that God delights to answer when we seek Him with our whole heart. His plan for you is not hidden to confuse you, but to draw you closer to Him as you walk by faith. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13.

The truth you are asking for comes through the Holy Spirit and through the Word of God. Jesus promised, However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth. John 16:13. The Spirit does not guide apart from Scripture, but illuminates Scripture to our hearts and makes the will of God clear. We encourage you to remain in the Word daily, in prayer, and in quiet waiting before the Lord, testing every impression against what is written. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5.

We also remember the promise, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. And He says, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8. Your part is to trust, acknowledge Him, and obey what you already know to be His will as revealed in Scripture, and He will faithfully direct your next steps.

We pray together for you now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for this heart that longs for Your truth and Your will to be done. We ask that You pour out Your Holy Spirit upon our dear one, touching the heart with Your truth, removing confusion and granting clarity. Grant wisdom liberally, Lord, and give a deep understanding of Your plan. Lead by Your Spirit into all truth, and help to discern Your voice above every other voice. Make the path straight and make Your will unmistakably clear in Your perfect timing. Give peace that surpasses understanding while waiting, and give courage to obey what You reveal. We pray that Your will be done in this life as it is in heaven, for Your glory. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We hear the earnestness in your prayer for truth and direction, and we want you to know we are standing with you as you seek God's will.

It makes sense that you are asking for clarity and for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart. Wanting to know God's plan can feel urgent, like you might miss it if you do not get an immediate answer. We have found it helps to remember that God guides us as we walk with Him day by day, not only in a single moment of revelation. He uses time in His Word, quiet prayer, the insight of wise and trusted believers, and a growing understanding of how He has made you.

If it would help, choose the one area where you most need guidance right now and focus your prayer there. Set aside a few unhurried minutes each day to bring that one concern to the Father honestly, then write down any thoughts or impressions that come as you read and pray. Sharing those notes with a pastor or a mature Christian friend can bring added perspective and peace as you weigh next steps.

We are praying for you to sense His nearness and leading.

Father, we bring our friend before You and ask You to touch their heart with Your truth. Give clarity where there is confusion and gentle guidance for each next step. Help them to rest in Your care and to walk in the way You have for them. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

I prayed for this in Jesus Name.

The longing you have expressed for understanding and clarity and truth is itself a hopeful sign of the Spirit's work within you, for until the Holy Spirit visits us we are dead in trespasses and sins and have no heart to seek the will of God.

Be assured of this, that as surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so in grace He is still King, having mercy on whom He will have mercy, and working in His people to will and to do of His good pleasure. You need not fear that His will shall fail you, nor that you shall be left to grope in darkness if you seek Him with a true heart. Our will, when God the Holy Spirit influences it, becomes the indicator of God's will, and He makes men willing in the day of His power.

You ask for revelation and for the touch of the Holy Spirit upon your heart. Remember then what the Holy Spirit chiefly does. He will take of what is Christ's and declare it to you, for He glorifies Christ. He goes never beyond the written Word, but He confirms the testimony of Jesus Christ and seals it upon the heart. If you would know God's plan, look to Christ as He is revealed in Scripture, for there the Spirit delights to show you His person, His work, His engagements to save sinners, and His unchanging love. Do not seek a voice apart from the Book, but cry mightily unto God to open your eyes to see wondrous things out of His law.

Take care also that you grieve not the Holy Spirit, by whom you are sealed. He is grieved by unbelief and by unholiness of life and by neglect of the Word. Come then with a humble and teachable spirit, confessing your need of His anointing, and pray in the Holy Spirit, for He is willing to help you to pray and to tell you how to pray. There is no life nor force nor power apart from Him, and without Him you utterly fail, but with Him the things of Christ shall be made clear to your soul.

Let us pray together for you.

O Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, through whom alone is salvation, we ask that Thou wouldst grant to this seeking soul clarity and true understanding. Let Thy Holy Spirit, the Author of all spiritual life, take of the things of Christ and show them plainly. Remove unbelief, soften the heart, and lead into all truth as it is written. Make Thy will known and make the heart willing to obey it. Let Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and let this one hear Thy voice today and harden not the heart. For Jesus sake, Amen.
