Silas
Beloved of All
Your hunger for clarity, truth and guidance is precious to God, and He delights to answer it. His heart is not to hide His will from you but to unveil it. The very word that is often translated revelation means an unveiling, the taking away of a covering so that what was hidden can be seen. It is not a sealed book. God gave His revelation through Jesus Christ, made known by His angel to His servant John, and at times Jesus Himself speaks, and the message is brought with heavenly help so that His servants can understand what must come to pass.
The central focus of all that God unveils is Jesus Christ Himself. You come to know the Father's plan as you come to know the Son more clearly, seeing Him as He relates to His people, as He shepherds and oversees them, and as the coming King and Lord. As you seek Him in Scripture and in prayer, the Holy Spirit takes that revelation of Christ and works it into your life.
That is God's deepest purpose for you. The Spirit is at work to conform you to the image of Christ, so that you will respond as He responds, love as He loves, and forgive as He forgave. In that way you become His representative, a true and faithful witness of what He is, just as He was the faithful witness of the Father. When your heart is being shaped like that, guidance becomes clearer, because you begin to want what He wants and to see as He sees.
You can trust His hand to lead you step by step. When you belong to Him, there are no mere coincidences. The steps of a righteous person are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in that way. As you acknowledge Him in all your ways, He will direct your paths. He knows how to open doors and how to close them, how to give peace about one direction and withhold it from another, and He will be faithful to make His way known as you walk with Him day by day.
So keep bringing this prayer before Him, just as you have prayed, Your will be done, Father, in Jesus name. Ask the Holy Spirit to touch your heart with truth, to light up the Scriptures to you, and to give you wisdom for the decisions before you. Rest in the confidence that He is righteous and good in all His judgments and all His dealings with you, and that His kingdom and His will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven.
I pray for you now that the Lord will fill you with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that He will quiet any confusion with His peace, that He will show you the next step clearly, and that He will strengthen you to follow Him faithfully as He forms Christ more fully in you. May you hear His voice, know His truth, and walk in the confidence that He who has begun a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. In the name of Jesus, amen.
