Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your desire for understanding, clarity, truth and guidance, and for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart, is itself a good and God honoring prayer, and we join you in asking the Father that His will be done in your life in Jesus name.
We pray that God will grant you a humble and attentive heart to receive what He reveals. Scripture teaches that the Father has hidden these things from those who trust in their own wisdom and has revealed them to babes, not because He is partial, but because revelation requires a well ordered soul ready to receive it with modesty and faith. So we ask that He keep you from pride and from seeking to establish your own righteousness, and make you willing to be taught and to believe what He shows you from above.
We also pray that He will give you both grace and the willingness to respond. We need His grace at every step, and we also need to offer our own part through obedience, prayer and doing what we already know to be right. Seek Him daily in prayer and in the Scriptures, where we have the sum of His good gifts, remission of sins, adoption, the hope of eternal life, and the abiding realities of faith, hope and love. As you walk in love toward God and toward others, with thankfulness for His blessings, your heart will become more steady to discern His voice.
May the Lord grant you peace as you wait on Him, keep you from anxious striving, and lead you step by step into the truth you seek. May He make His way plain to you, give you wisdom to choose what pleases Him, and establish you in charity which is the mark of His disciples. We ask all this trusting that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that He who has begun a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.
Father, in the name of Jesus, touch this heart with Your truth, grant clarity and revelation according to Your perfect will, and let Your will be done. Amen.
