Your cry for understanding, clarity and truth, and your prayer that the Holy Spirit would touch your heart and that the Father's will be done, is itself a work of grace and it is heard in heaven.
It is a blessed thing to desire to know God's plan, for as surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so His will is the great heart of providence sending its pulse through even the most distant limbs of human life. Nothing happens but what He permits or ordains, and all things are under regulation and have an appointed place in His plan. To seek His will is wisdom, and to submit to it is peace. You have prayed well in saying, Your will be done, Father, for our best profit will consist in doing God's will.
There are two ways in which the Lord makes His will known which you should diligently consult. There is His revealed will which we must not violate, and which is plainly set before us in Holy Scripture. Believe this Bible from the first word of Genesis to the last line of Revelation, for it will never mislead you. It has never misled anyone. There you will find that salvation is of God's will, and that He preserves and keeps His people to the end, for He will not leave His purpose half accomplished. And there is His providential will which comes through the circumstances that surround us, the open and closed doors, the guidance which believers learn to discern as they walk with Him. In all your ways you may say in your heart, I will go or I will stay, if it is the will of God, and even when you do not say it with the lips, you will feel it in the soul.
Remember also this comfort, that though the will of man is not ignored, the work of the Spirit, which is the effect of the will of God, is to change the human will and so make men willing in the day of God's power, working in them to will and to do of His own good pleasure. Therefore pray as you have prayed, for the Spirit to work in you, to give you light and to make your heart tender to the truth. He who invites, Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely, is the same Lord who reigns as King, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. Come to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and ask Him to measure your requests not by the meanness of your own estate, but by the riches of His glory.
Be much in prayer and much in the Word. Watch providence. Tell the Savior plainly what you desire, for He hears you and will attend to it, and He will grant what is for your profit, even if He withholds what is not. He will bestow upon you all good things, and no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, to guide you, to keep you, and to give you clarity in His own time, till His will is made plain and His peace rules in your heart.
