Beloved of All
Your longing for clarity and truth and for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart is itself something God has placed there, and He desires to answer it. The word that is often translated revelation simply means an unveiling, the removing of a covering so that what was hidden can be seen. God is not trying to keep His will secret from you. His heart is to reveal Himself, and the center of all that He reveals is Jesus Christ.
That is why true guidance begins with looking to Jesus. In Scripture, the revelation was given by God to Jesus to show His servants what must take place, and it was made known through an angel to John, with angels and elders and the Lord Himself speaking to help him understand. God still reveals Himself in that way, through His Word, by His Spirit, and above all through His Son. As you seek Jesus Himself, as He is shown in Scripture as the One who watches over His people and who will one day come as King of kings and Lord of lords, clarity comes. To know Him is to know the Father, because He is the faithful and true witness of what God is like.
The prayer you prayed, Your will be done, Father, is the very prayer Jesus taught us to pray, that His kingdom would come and His will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. God's will for you is first of all personal and transforming. The Holy Spirit is at work to conform you to the image of Christ, so that you begin to respond as He responds, to love as He loves and to forgive as He forgave. Guidance is not only about knowing what decision to make, it is about becoming the kind of person who represents Him faithfully in every decision, a true witness of who He is in this world.
You can trust His leading because His ways are righteous and fair. Even when His judgments are spoken of in Scripture, the testimony of heaven is that they are right and just. He does not mislead His children. As you keep His Word and do not deny His name, even with the little strength you feel you have, He will keep you and show you the next step.
So continue to bring your heart honestly before Him. Ask Him to open the Scriptures to you, to let the Holy Spirit shape your desires to be like Jesus, and to make you sensitive to His voice. He who opened the door for you to come to Him will not cast you out when you come seeking truth.
I pray for you now that the Father would fill you with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, that He would touch your heart with truth, quiet every confusion, and make His will clear to you. May you grow in knowing Jesus more deeply, be conformed more fully to His likeness, and walk as His faithful representative, trusting that His will done in your life is good and right and full of peace. In the name of Jesus, amen.
