Humble Prayer Partner
Pray for me please if possible. I’m ###. ###. I’m ###. I was diagnosed with brain damage from alcohol. My husband, Catholic and ###, ###, ghosted me and our two daughters. Grown. Doing well. I was so devastated I drank alcohol. Wine. Then straight up vodka. I don’t remember drinking. I was fired. Brutally fired. Humiliated. Walked out of the office into the parking lot on foot. By an armed male security guard. I had to walk home. Get my extra car keys and walk back. My ex friend sent my personal belongings to me via her husband ###. Except for my Tizio lamp. They kept my lamp. I had bought it for myself years before I worked at the ###. I’m home now. Alone & on surveillance camera 24/7. Verbally chastised and threatened by my sibling if she sees me leave my house. On a happy note and please pray for one last thing. My “First” love, ###, has surfaced. He’s now a widower. I still love him. Would you consider praying for ### & ###? To see if God and my sister ### will give us a chance? Pray please. I need help. Can’t do this alone. Pray. Thank you. ###. ###

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you face immense physical, emotional, and spiritual battles. Your pain is real, and we stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father and find true healing and restoration.

First, we rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of your life. Scripture warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." The alcohol that has ravaged your body and mind is not your master, Jesus is. We pray for your complete deliverance from this bondage. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees your tears, your shame, and your despair, and He is mighty to save.

We also rebuke the spirit of abandonment and betrayal that has wounded you so deeply. Your husband’s choice to leave you and your daughters is not God’s design for marriage. Malachi 2:16 tells us, "For I hate divorce,” says Yahweh, the God of Israel." We pray for his heart to be softened, for repentance, and for reconciliation if it is God’s will, but above all, we pray for your healing from this rejection. You are not alone, though it may feel that way. The Lord is your husband (Isaiah 54:5), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Your job loss and humiliation are heavy burdens, but we declare over you the truth of Philippians 4:19: "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." The Lord sees your struggle, and He will provide for you in ways you cannot yet imagine. We pray for restoration, of your dignity, your purpose, and your financial stability. We also pray for justice regarding the treatment you endured, for the Lord is a God of justice (Isaiah 30:18).

We must address the situation with your "first love" with great caution and biblical discernment. While it is natural to long for companionship, especially after such deep loss, we must ensure that any relationship aligns with God’s will and timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 warns, "Don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that the Lord would give you clarity and wisdom regarding this man. If it is His will for you to reunite, we ask that He would prepare both of your hearts in righteousness. However, we must also rebuke any spirit of idolatry, placing this relationship above your healing, your obedience to God, or your family’s well-being. Your sister’s opposition may be a red flag from the Lord, and we encourage you to seek His face above all else.

We also rebuke the spirit of isolation and control that your sibling is exerting over you. While she may be acting out of concern, her actions are not in line with God’s love, which is patient and kind, not controlling or threatening (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). We pray for her heart to be softened, for reconciliation between you, and for the Lord to break any ungodly soul ties or generational strongholds that may be at play.

Most importantly, we urge you to draw near to Jesus Christ, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is not found in any other name (Acts 4:12), and it is the first step toward true healing. We pray that you would experience the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and that you would find your identity in Christ alone.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is broken and in need of Your touch. Lord, we ask for Your physical healing to flow through her body, restoring every damaged cell, every impaired function, and every area of her brain affected by alcohol. We declare that by Your stripes, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we rebuke every spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name.

Father, we pray for her emotional healing. You see the depths of her pain, the rejection, the humiliation, and the loneliness. Comfort her with Your presence, Lord, and let her know that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Heal her wounds, and replace her sorrow with Your joy (Psalm 30:5). We break the power of every word spoken against her in anger or judgment, and we declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

Lord, we ask for Your provision in her life. Open doors of opportunity for her, restore what has been lost, and provide for her every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Give her wisdom and discernment as she navigates this season, and surround her with godly counsel and support.

Father, we pray for her relationship with her sister. Soften hearts, Lord, and bring reconciliation where there is strife. Help them both to see one another through Your eyes and to extend grace and forgiveness.

Regarding the man from her past, Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and clarity. If it is Your will for them to reunite, prepare their hearts and align their paths. But if this is not Your plan, give her the strength to let go and trust in Your timing. Guard her heart from idolatry and help her to seek You above all else.

Above all, Lord, we pray that she would draw near to You. If she has not yet surrendered her life to Jesus, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to her in a powerful way. Let her experience Your love, Your peace, and Your salvation. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, and lead her into a life of freedom and purpose.

We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will turn her mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). Strengthen her, Lord, and help her to stand firm in her faith. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust in Your perfect plan for her life.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for being so open with us, there is a lot of pain in your words, and we are truly sorry you have been through such devastating losses. Losing your job, your marriage, and your health all at once is an enormous weight, and the isolation you describe only makes it heavier. We are holding you in prayer as you face this.

Even though everything feels out of control right now, please know that you are not as alone as this moment makes you feel. Your life and your worth are not defined by a diagnosis, a termination, or a broken relationship. They rest securely in the God who sees you, who made you, and who has not abandoned you, even when the people around you have let you down.

Because you mentioned the brain damage diagnosis and the alcohol use, we gently encourage you to keep seeking out medical and professional support alongside prayer. Whether that means a doctor who understands brain recovery, or a recovery group like Alcoholics Anonymous where many have found steady, non-judgmental help, these are often part of how God carries us toward wholeness. You don’t have to figure this all out by yourself.

We also want to lift up the ache you carry for a second chance at love. That longing for connection is so understandable after all the rejection you’ve endured. We pray that God will guide you, heal your deepest wounds, and give you clarity and peace, not just regarding a relationship, but in every part of your life that needs His restoring touch.

Let us pray for you now:

Father, we come to You on behalf of our sister. You see the damage in her brain, the grief in her heart, the pain of being humiliated and cut off. We ask for Your healing power to touch her mind and body in ways that only You can. Surround her with safe, supportive people, and give her wisdom about the next steps in her recovery. Comfort her in this season of isolation, and quiet the voices of shame and fear. We entrust her future, her health, her relationships, her hopes, completely to You, knowing You are able to do more than we ask. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A heart so shattered by sorrow and sin cries out, and the echo reaches the throne of grace. Your soul lies broken, not only by the wound of a husband’s desertion and the humiliation of dismissal, but by the deeper bruise of sin itself, the wine and the vodka that promised comfort but delivered only theft and ruin. The brain damaged by alcohol, the body under surveillance, the loneliness of a house where a sibling’s voice brings only threats, all this is the bitter harvest of looking to broken cisterns that can hold no water. Yet He who gathers the outcasts of Israel stands ready. The Great Physician has walked the path of utter loneliness before you; in the garden and upon the tree He was abandoned, that you might never be truly alone. Your soul needs more than physical healing; it needs the pardon that brings peace. The palsy of your circumstances is secondary to the paralysis of guilt that chains you. There is forgiveness with Him, first forgiveness, then healing. He does not break the bruised reed, nor quench the smoking flax; He restores the soul. The leaves of that tree which grows by the river of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least touch of His grace can make the lame to leap.

But as for this love you still cherish for , I must speak plainly, for love itself is sick when it runs contrary to the pattern set by the Bridegroom for His bride. You ask for prayer that you may be given a chance with a man who is not your husband. The covenant of marriage is a lifelong bond, sealed by God, and the world’s ghosting does not dissolve it in heaven’s court. To desire a chance with another while the sacred tie remains is to let a false love poison the wells of your joy. I hear the cry of a desolate heart yearning for a human arm to lean upon, but that arm, if grasped against the command of Christ, will prove a broken staff. The love of Jesus, the true Husband of His people, demands and deserves a fidelity that shuts the door upon every competing affection which is not lawful. He is a jealous Lord, and His love burns with a pure flame that consumes all dross. Did He not surrender Himself in His own loneliness, refusing the easy path, that you might be His? Therefore, I cannot ask God to bless you and together while your covenant remains. I can only plead that you would fall before the Lord and cry out, “Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You,” and let that be the first love that surfaces and conquers all.

Fix your gaze not upon a Tizio lamp unjustly kept, nor upon the face of a widower from your youth, but upon the bleeding form of the Son of God who was humiliated, stripped, and walked outside the gate bearing His reproach for you. His love alone abounds and abides when all human comforts fail. Cast yourself upon His mercy; take His cup of salvation, and drink it abundantly. Find in Him the Husband who never forsakes, the Friend who sticks closer than a brother. Then, walking in the light of His countenance, let the questions of earthly love be laid quietly at His feet, trusting Him either to restore what the locust has eaten in His own way and time, or to give you grace to live solely unto Him. The healing you need flows from the pardon purchased by His blood. Seek that first.

You have poured out your sorrows, and I hear them. But think: who is truly injured here? You recount being humiliated, fired, robbed of a lamp, watched by your sister. Yet it is not these things that harm you; the only real harm is what you do to your own soul. For you say you drank wine and vodka, not even remembering. That was the wound you gave yourself. The security guard who walked you out, the friend who kept your lamp, they have not injured you, but themselves, if they acted unjustly. If you endured nobly, you would be crowned. Pray for them, that they may be released from their sin.

You ask for healing, and rightly. But seek first the healing of the soul, which is far graver than any brain damage. The body’s sickness is not an evil; sin alone is evil. This affliction, if borne with thanksgiving, may be the very means to restore your inner sight, as blindness was to the man in the Gospel. Let it turn you wholly to God.

Now you ask prayer for a chance with a widower, your first love. Yet you have a husband still living. Do you not know that a woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives? To look upon another man with desire is to break the commandment. If a man loves his own wife as he ought, he will not look on another; so too for a wife. Love for God is proved by hearing His commandments. How can you pray for a chance that God Himself forbids? You must rather pray for your husband, that his heart may soften, and that you may forgive him from the soul, even as Christ forgave you. For want of love breeds wantonness; but true love suffers long and is kind, it does not seek its own.

Your sister’s cameras and harsh words, bear these as a trial that perfects patience. Do not accuse her, but accuse yourself, for your own sins are the real enemy. Make room for love in your heart, first for God, and then for those who seem against you. Follow after love with all eagerness; she flees quickly amid life’s temptations. Let your tongue sharpen against your own faults alone.

I will pray, but not as you ask. I will pray that you may see these things, that you may be sober in soul, that you may love God above all, and that His will, not your earthly desires, be done. For the love of God brought Him down to earth to make us sons; do not spurn so great a gift for the fleeting comfort of a human embrace. Give thanks even in this furnace, and He will bring you forth as gold.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I have read your request, and I want you to know that what you have shared matters deeply. You have been through devastating blows: the damage from alcohol, the loss of your job in such a humiliating way, the abandonment by your husband, the constant surveillance and harsh words from your own sibling, and the deep loneliness of being home alone. It is no wonder your heart is aching and you feel you cannot do this alone. That is exactly where God meets us. He draws near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

You mentioned the brain damage. Our brains are fearfully and wonderfully made. Every day, billions of signals travel along neural pathways, interpreting sounds, sights, and memories. What is remarkable is that God designed the brain with a built-in capacity to heal. When connections are broken, new shoots can grow to bridge the gaps. That is not nature alone; it is the Creator’s hand sustaining life. Healing from alcohol damage is often gradual, and that does not make it any less a divine work. The only recorded instance of a gradual healing in Jesus’ ministry was when He laid hands on a blind man, and the man saw people looking like trees walking until Jesus touched him again and his sight was fully restored. The Lord who restored sight in stages is the same Lord who can restore clarity of mind and emotional stability in stages. Do not despise the small beginnings or the slow progress. Every step toward wholeness is a gift.

I also want to speak to the guilt many carry when they suffer. We simply do not know why some are healed instantly and others walk a longer road. The apostle Paul had a remarkable healing ministry, yet his coworker Epaphroditus almost died from sickness, and Paul himself pleaded three times for a thorn in the flesh to be removed and was told no. Those who try to give pat answers and heap guilt on the sick person are not speaking for God. His ways are beyond tracing out, but His compassion never fails. So do not add to your burden by blaming yourself for the way healing unfolds. Instead, take the first step toward restoration, as the ten lepers did when Jesus told them to go show themselves to the priests. For you, that first step might be seeking medical guidance, connecting with a support group, or letting a trusted believer walk alongside you spiritually. Restoration into community after humiliation is painful, but it is the path Jesus walks with us.

The isolation and the camera watching your every move must feel like a prison. Yet God’s eyes are on you not to accuse but to see and to deliver. The same God who counts the hairs on your head knows every thought that races through your mind, every memory that stings, every fear that surfaces. He can bring healing to your emotions and your mind even as your body recovers. Wounds from betrayal and public shame run deep, but He is the Mender of broken hearts. The lies that alcohol promised, the numbness, the escape, only added destruction. Alcohol deceives; it impairs judgment and snuffs out the very connections God designed for clear thinking. But you are not beyond hope. The brain’s intricate design speaks of a wise Maker who can rebuild what sin and sorrow have torn down.

Now, about the man from your past who has reentered your life. You still love him and wonder if God might give you two a chance. I must speak with care here, because God’s design for marriage is a lifelong covenant. Until death parts one spouse from the other, the bond remains, even when the other person has walked away. Your husband’s abandonment is a deep wrong, and I ache with you over that rejection. Yet pursuing a new romantic relationship while still bound in that covenant would fall outside the Lord’s will. I encourage you, instead, to ask God to search your heart in light of the Scriptures. First Corinthians 13 describes what real love looks like: it suffers long, it is kind, it does not seek its own way. Put your own name in that chapter and test your longings. The ultimate goal is not to fill the void with a person but to be filled with the life of Christ, who is the true First Love of every soul. He will never abandon you, never humiliate you, and His restoration leads to joy without compromise.

Please hear me: I am not dismissing your loneliness or your longing for companionship. But I am urging you to bring these desires under the authority of a God who knows what you need far better than you do. If this widower is a man of faith who honors the Lord, then the right thing to do is to maintain purity and distance until any romantic consideration would be biblically permitted, which, at present, it is not. Pray for wisdom, not for God to grant something that His word prohibits. Ask Him to heal your heart so profoundly that any future path, whether of reconciliation with your husband or a life of fruitful singleness, becomes your willing delight.

You asked for prayer. I am praying for you. I am praying that the restorative processes God built into your brain will accelerate. I am praying for your protection from the harsh words of your sibling, that her heart would soften. I am praying for your daughters, that they would flourish. I am praying that you will sense Christ’s presence in that empty house, more real than any surveillance camera. And I am praying that the Spirit will guide you into all truth, giving you the courage to take the next obedient step, whatever that may be. You cannot do this alone, but you are not alone. The One who went about healing every disease and every affliction sees you. Lean hard on Him.
