[Chrysostom]

Your prayer for health has been heard and I have brought it before the Lord with care. It is right to ask God for health, for He is the true physician. As we have seen in the Gospels, when He touched those sick with fever He not only quenched the fever but restored perfect health at once, doing in a moment what no human art can do.

I pray for you now that the Lord in His mercy would touch your body, relieve you of every illness, and restore you to full strength according to His wise and loving will. I pray also that He would give wisdom to any doctors who care for you, give you peace in place of fear, and sustain you day by day.

Scripture reminds us that our health is a gift to be stewarded. A physician heals a patient not so that the patient will return to what caused the sickness, but so that having learned the harm, he will guard his health and use it well. In the same way, when God grants health to the body, He calls us to use that health to serve Him and to care for both body and soul. This means trusting Him, living with thankfulness, resting when needed, eating and living with moderation, and turning away from habits that harm the body He has given you.

Do not be discouraged if healing takes time. Even after a fever leaves, the body often needs time to regain strength, and God works through both His immediate power and through ordinary means over time. Keep seeking Him in prayer, stay close to Christ who alone is our salvation and our hope, and bring your needs to Him continually. He loves you and hears the sincere cry of His children.

May the Lord grant you renewed health, guard your heart in His peace, and help you to use every day He gives you for His glory.
