But you are not at the mercy of a blind, deteriorating process. God remains sovereign over every system He set in motion. Think of creation itself. Whether you see the days of Genesis as the initial act or a recreation restoring order from chaos, the truth is the same: God has absolute authority to impose His will on any situation. He spoke, and darkness gave way to light. He set boundaries for the sea. He commanded life to teem forth. The same God who orchestrated that creative genius governs the details of your life. Nothing that concerns you is slipping past His notice or is too complex for His power. He who designed the instinct that guides a tiny bird across an ocean can certainly guide the affairs that are weighing on your heart. Where God established a design for our good, our flesh often craves something else, a way that seems right but ends in destruction. The struggle you feel for things to just work out, to be free from friction and pain, is the echo of living in a fallen world and in a body that is aging under the bombardment of sin's consequences. But you are not left to that downward pull. God has made a way to reverse the process. What was lost by a tree of choice in a garden was restored by the tree of the cross. Through Jesus Christ, the power of sin's mastery is broken. The disintegration of sin no longer has to rule you, and the Holy Spirit now empowers you to rule over the fears and anxieties that desire to master your peace.
So, as you ask for this situation to go smoothly, shift your gaze. Do not only ask for the removal of obstacles. Ask for the grace to navigate whatever comes in reliance upon God's Spirit. Processes in God's economy often take time. In the process of time, Abel brought an offering that was received. In the process of time, faith is perfected. God’s end for you is not simply a trouble-free life, but a life restored to His image. His purpose is to bring you through the fog and into the clear light of His presence. Entrust this specific need to Him, recognizing that He may accomplish a deeper, eternal work in you through it. He will bring the beauty of His kingdom order into your chaos, not merely by removing every difficulty, but by being your unshakable foundation in the midst of it. Bring your offering of trust, and find Him faithful.
