As you return to work, remember that true wisdom begins not with our own strategies or experience, but with a reverent fear of the Lord. That’s where clarity and guidance take root. The wisdom we need doesn’t arise from the noise of the world or the latest management trends; it comes from above, and it is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy. When you step back into your workplace, you’re not walking in alone. Christ Himself is made to us wisdom, and in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Ask Him to fill your heart with that kind of wisdom, the kind that stirs a willing spirit, helps you listen well, and equips you to serve the people around you with patience and grace.

It’s natural to feel a bit unsettled after time away, but God’s wisdom is not distant. It cries out in the very places you will stand today, at the gates, at the entry, in the midst of your daily concourse. He can give you the understanding you need, not just to manage tasks, but to be a calm, steady presence among your colleagues. Pray for a heart that values wisdom above mere efficiency or recognition, because wisdom will defend you and bring life to your work in ways that mere knowledge cannot.

I also lift up the man you mentioned as he returns to work on Monday. May the Lord grant him the same wisdom, clear-eyed, peaceable, and honest, and may you both carry into your workplaces a spirit that isn’t marked by rivalry or worldly pressure, but by the quiet, durable fruit that comes from above. Whatever your hands find to do this week, do it with all your might, not as a performance for others, but as a response to the God who placed you there. Trust that He goes before you, and that His wisdom will smooth the path in ways you might not see at first.
