prayer for going back to work

hi all. i have been on holidays for a week and will be coming to work today. i pray for wisdom and guidance in going back to work, i pray that it'll be a smooth process coming back again to work. Lord, please bless me with your wisdom, courage, strength. Help me help the people. Bless me with nice colleagues to work with. Lord please also include my partner as he goes back to work as well on monday. May You bless us with Your love and spirit. In Jesus name - AMEN!

We hear your heart as you prepare to return to work, seeking God’s wisdom and grace for this transition. It is good to lift up your workplace and colleagues before the Lord, asking Him to order your steps and fill your days with His peace. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We join you in praying that God would direct your steps, grant you discernment in your tasks, and surround you with godly influences.

We also lift up your desire to be a blessing to others at work. Jesus calls us to be salt and light in every area of our lives, including our workplaces (Matthew 5:13-16). May the Lord use you to reflect His love, patience, and integrity to those around you. We pray that your colleagues would be people of good character, and that any difficult relationships would be softened by God’s grace.

However, we must gently address the mention of your "partner" in this prayer. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God from the beginning (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you are referring to someone you are in a romantic relationship with outside of marriage, we must lovingly remind you that God’s design for intimacy and commitment is within the bounds of marriage alone. The Bible warns against fornication (1 Corinthians 6:18-20) and calls us to flee from sexual immorality. If this is the case, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s strength to honor Him in this relationship, either by pursuing marriage with a fellow believer or by walking in purity until that time.

If you are already married, we rejoice in that covenant and pray that God would strengthen your union. If you are not married, we encourage you to seek a spouse who shares your faith, as Scripture instructs believers not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). Marriage is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and it is worth waiting for a godly spouse who will walk with you in faith.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging that every good gift comes from You. We lift up this dear one as they return to work, asking that You would go before them and prepare their way. Grant them wisdom in their decisions, strength in their tasks, and joy in their service to others. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with colleagues who reflect Your love and truth, and that You would use them to be a light in their workplace.

Father, we also pray for their relationship. If they are married, we ask that You would strengthen their marriage, deepen their love, and help them to honor You in their union. If they are not married, we ask that You would guide them in purity and wisdom, leading them to a godly spouse who will walk with them in faith. Give them the courage to honor You in all their relationships, and help them to flee from temptation.

Lord, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in Your ways and reflect Your love to everyone they encounter. May their work be a testimony to Your goodness, and may their life bring glory to Your name. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. Amen.

It's such a tender moment, isn't it, when a season of rest draws to a close and the ordinary rhythms of work wait on the other side. That pause you've had, the change of pace, was a quiet gift, and now carrying that steadiness back into the workplace is a wise thing to ask God for. We love how your request includes not just "getting through" but truly being a blessing to the people you'll serve and work alongside. That desire to help others, and to have kind colleagues, is a mark of the Spirit's shaping in you.

One simple thing might help you step into today with less noise in your soul: take just a minute before you walk in the door to recall a specific moment from your holiday that made you feel grateful or at peace. Let that tiny memory anchor you. It's a small way to bring the refreshment you've tasted right into the hallways and conversations that await. And when you feel the day's busyness rise, whisper again the prayer you've already prayed, God gives wisdom and courage in real time, not just in advance.

We'll gladly pray with you now:

Lord Jesus, thank You for this week of rest and for the good work You've given. Walk with this person today and in the days ahead. Grant clear thinking, a gentle spirit, and the courage to face whatever comes. Smooth out the frictions that often distract, and surround them with coworkers who bring light and partnership. We lift up their partner as Monday approaches, guard his steps and fill his tasks with Your quiet strength. May both of them sense Your love steadying them, and may they be a genuine help to everyone they meet. In Your name, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen.

Return to your post of duty not with heaviness but with the quick step of one who knows the Master has work for you there. You have enjoyed a season of rest, and that is well, for even the Lord of the Sabbath would take His disciples aside to rest awhile. But now the call comes to go down into the garden of your daily labor and attend to the proper work appointed you. Do not sit in the house to admire your own comforts, nor go into the street to display yourself, go where Providence has placed you, and there let the cry be heard, "Return, return!"

Seek wisdom, and you shall find it, but remember that divine wisdom wears robes of love and tenderness. That wisdom will teach you to avoid the cumber of much serving, that fretful, fussy weakness that worries over every cog and band of the great machine. Instead, wait upon the Lord in the midst of your tasks, keeping yourself calm and quiet in the center, looking to the whole work as He directs. The strength you need shall be given, for to those who have no might He increaseth strength. But it must be strength drawn from Him, not the fleshly energy that soon withers. Quiet strength accomplishes far more than all the noisy striving of the unhelped soul.

As for your partner, return together to your callings, for the Lord looks upon the household that serves Him with united heart. May your mutual labors be a foretaste of heavenly service, done with gladness and faith. And if you find the work at first hard, remember that the dove found the ark open to her when she returned with weary wing. Noah put forth his hand and pulled her in. So your Lord will receive you afresh into the strength of His purpose. Step into this day, then, not in your own might but in the name of the Lord, and let your service become a delight because it is rendered unto Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You entreat prayer for a smooth return to your daily labor, and seek wisdom for the task. But consider what true wisdom is. Not the prudence of this age which passes away, but the wisdom of God hidden in mystery, foreordained before the worlds for our glory: Jesus Christ and Him crucified. For the world deemed it foolishness, yet it alone works salvation and raises up the worthless to wealth. Therefore, as you go back, boast not in your own cunning, nor seek mere ease among colleagues. Set your mind on the cross, where true courage and strength are found. He who sends ministering spirits to serve the heirs of salvation will Himself order your path, if you commit your works to Him.

Help the people placed before you, not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as a fellow-servant of Christ. This returns glory to our great Benefactor, who needs nothing, yet says He is repaid when we care for our souls. As for your companion, I pray that you both may walk in the light of His will, not conformed to the fleeting fashion of this world. Let your conduct be adorned with humility, not with the vanity that stoops to trifles and begets much sorrow. If you seek wisdom concerning heavenly things, you will find the grace to go back without stain from the world's dust. May the Lord fill you with His Spirit, that by good works you may obtain the good things promised, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
