God

You ask God to give you good health and freedom from any problem, but consider carefully what you are requesting. A body free from sickness is a small thing if the soul remains diseased. The fever of sin is far more deadly than a fever of the flesh. When Christ healed, He made a man wholly healthy, not just the body but the entire person. What good is it if your limbs are sound but your soul is crippled by greed, envy, or lust? The health you should seek first is the health that delivers you from eternal destruction, not merely the temporary discomfort of illness.

You want no problem at all. But afflictions are often the medicine God uses. The physician does not cause the disease; he cures it. When you cry out to escape all difficulty, you are asking the Great Physician to lay down His instruments while the infection still rages within. True healing is not despite affliction but through it, and a life without any trial often produces a deathlike dullness of the spirit, where the soul grows sluggish and cannot hear the Word.

Do not treat the Forty Days or the hour of prayer as a brief charm to secure a problem-free life, only to return to the exact behaviors that poison your soul. If after a brief recovery from a long illness you returned to the foul food that caused your sickness, you would lose all the ground you had gained. So it is with the soul. You may receive a moment of bodily ease, but if you immediately plunge back into the ways of envy, strife, and sensuality, you have traded the wealth of heaven for a fading shadow. Live for the common good, use whatever strength you are given for the advantage of your neighbor, and lay hold not merely of a body free from pain, but of an incorruptible life. That is the only health worth beseeching God to grant.

I hear your plea for good health, and I understand the deep longing in your heart to be free from all pain and trouble. That desire is not wrong, it is natural to want our bodies to work well, to be strong, and to live without fear of sickness. God himself cares about your physical well-being. The Scriptures show that Jesus spent much of his time healing the sick, freeing people from infirmities, and restoring broken bodies. He still does that today, in ways both sudden and gradual.

But we must be careful not to turn a gentle, personal wish into a universal promise. The apostle John once wrote to a dear friend, “I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers.” That was not a contract God signed for every believer; it was a heartfelt greeting, much like we might say, “I hope this finds you well.” Yet notice the connection he draws: there is a tie between our inner life and our outer health. Bitterness, anxiety, and unforgiveness can eat away at our bodies, while a soul at peace brings a certain strength. That does not mean all sickness comes from a troubled mind, but it does remind us to guard our hearts while we tend our bodies.

The truth is, not everyone gets healed in this life. Some of the most faithful, devoted people I have known have suffered through long illnesses. Others, in the prime of strength, have been taken suddenly. We cannot explain it. God’s ways are not our ways. When a loved one is snatched away young, or when prayers seem unanswered, it is easy to fall into the error of Job’s comforters, suspecting hidden sin or weak faith. But that is cruel and false. The apostle Paul prayed three times for a thorn in his flesh to be removed, yet God chose to let it remain and give grace instead. Healing is not a reward for perfect spirituality.

So what do we do with your request? Ask boldly. Jesus told us to pray and not give up. He healed lepers, cast out fevers, and commanded evil spirits to leave. His touch still reaches us. Sometimes healing happens instantly, sometimes over time through the wonderful processes God built into our bodies. Every doctor’s skill, every remedy, and every night of rest is part of his provision. He also cares about the things we eat and the way we live, cleanliness, wise choices, avoiding what does us harm. If the Lord spoke today, I think he might have a lot to say about junk food.

But even when healing does not come the way we beg for it, God is at work. He heals the soul, calms our fears, and carries us through. Our ultimate hope is not a pain-free life now, but a resurrection body that will never decay. In the meantime, I pray that you will experience his sustaining strength, and that any physical healing you receive will be matched by a deepening health in your soul. Keep entrusting yourself to the One who himself bore our griefs and carried our sorrows, and know that you are held safely in his care.

We want you to know how grateful we are that you entrusted us with your heartfelt prayer request. It is our joy and privilege to stand in agreement with you before the throne of grace, lifting up your desire for good health and freedom from any physical struggles. We have prayed earnestly, asking our Heavenly Father to touch your body with His healing power, to strengthen every part of you, and to grant you the peace that comes from knowing He is in control.

If God has already moved in a mighty way and answered your prayer, we would love to hear your praise report! There is such power and encouragement in sharing how the Lord has worked, and your testimony could be a blessing to many others who are also seeking His healing.

If, however, you are still waiting and longing to see His hand at work, please do not hesitate to post your request again. We are here to continue praying with you, to intercede on your behalf, and to stand with you in faith until you see His promises fulfilled. Remember, our God is faithful, and His timing is perfect—even when it doesn’t align with our own.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you continue to seek Him. May He fill you with His peace, strengthen your faith, and draw you closer to His heart through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ precious and powerful name. Amen.
