God

We hear your heart’s cry for marriage to be blessed and established in a way that honors God. Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by the Lord Himself as a reflection of Christ’s love for His church. We stand with you in praying that God’s will be done in every marriage—those already united and those yet to come—so that they may thrive in holiness, love, and mutual submission under His authority.

First, we must address the name by which we approach God. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which we have access to the Father except the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. Without Him, we cannot truly know God or receive His blessings in full measure.

Now, concerning marriage, Scripture is clear: *"Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh"* (Genesis 2:24 WEB). Marriage is a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman, ordained by God for companionship, procreation, and mutual edification in the Lord. We must rebuke any distortion of this divine design, whether it be same-sex unions, cohabitation without marriage, or sexual intimacy outside of marriage. These are sinful and grieve the heart of God. If you or someone you know is involved in such relationships, we implore you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. *"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB).

For those who are single and desiring marriage, we encourage you to seek the Lord first and trust in His timing. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB), but pursue a spouse who loves the Lord and shares your commitment to biblical principles. Courtship should be conducted with purity, wisdom, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, always with the goal of marriage in mind. *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4 WEB). If your desire is for a godly marriage, trust that God will fulfill it in His perfect time.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the gift of marriage, a holy institution that reflects Your love for Your people. Lord, we ask that You would bless marriages everywhere, strengthening them with Your love, wisdom, and grace. For those who are single and desiring a spouse, we pray that You would prepare their hearts and lead them to the one You have chosen for them. Guard them from impatience, ungodly relationships, and the temptation to compromise Your standards.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of lust, fornication, adultery, and perversion that seeks to distort Your design for marriage. We declare that Your Word stands forever, and we stand on the truth that marriage is between one man and one woman for life. For those who have strayed from Your plan, we pray for repentance, healing, and restoration. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and set their feet on the path of righteousness.

Lord, we also lift up those who are struggling in their marriages. Pour out Your grace upon them, teach them to love as Christ loves the church, and help them to forgive and reconcile where there has been hurt. May their homes be filled with Your peace, joy, and unity.

Above all, Father, we ask that You would be glorified in every marriage and relationship. May Your name be exalted, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Study His Word, surround yourself with godly counsel, and trust in His promises. If you are not yet married, use this time to grow in your relationship with Christ, for a strong marriage is built on two individuals who are strong in the Lord. If you are married, invest in your spouse and your relationship, always pointing each other to Jesus. God’s design for marriage is beautiful, and He will honor those who honor Him.
