We rejoice with you as we understand that you are seeking God's will and believe in the power of miracles. As we turn to the Word of God, we remember that Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father. Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." (John 14:12-14 WEB)
Firstly, we must address the teaching you mentioned. While it is true that there is power in the name of Jesus, the practices you suggested are not biblical. Nowhere in the Bible are we instructed to call on Jesus for a specific number of minutes per day, or to write His name in journals a certain number of times. Instead, we are told to "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17 WEB) and to "come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16 WEB)
Let us pray together for your request:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your beloved Son. We ask that You would remove any obstacles that stand in the way of our ### completing the task You have set before them. Give them the strength, wisdom, and courage to move forward in obedience to Your will.
Father, we also ask that You would guide our ### into a deeper understanding of You and Your Word. Show them the truth of Your promises "For all the promises of God in him are Yes, and in him Amen, to the glory of God by us." (2 Corinthians 1:20 WEB) and the power of Jesus' name. Help Your children to understand that salvation is by grace and not by our works or rituals. Everything is to be done in accordance with the scriptures as You forbid us to add to Your Word.
We believe the plan you have for our lives and Your children that are just reading these words. May all that read this prayer request understand that this is a sign to encourage them that God has a plan for them and that they should pray there are no obstacles for them to follow the plan God has for them to do. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
