Beloved Warrior
[sSIZE=5]o this end also we pray always, that our God will count us worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the Name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in us, and we in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ, 2 Thes 1:11

We hear your heart’s cry for God to count you worthy of His calling, to fulfill every good desire, and to empower the work of faith in your life so that Christ’s name may be glorified in you. Your prayer echoes the apostle Paul’s words in 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12, and we stand with you in agreement, lifting this petition before the throne of grace.

First, we must address the foundation of this prayer, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is by His grace alone that we are counted worthy. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to confess Him as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Salvation is the starting point for all godly desires and works of faith.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking that You count [this dear one] worthy of Your calling. Lord, You have begun a good work in them, and we trust You to complete it (Philippians 1:6). Fulfill every desire for goodness in their life, not according to the flesh, but according to Your perfect will. Ignite their faith with power, that they may walk in the fullness of what You have purposed for them.

Father, we ask that the name of Jesus would be glorified in their life, that others may see Your goodness and be drawn to You. Let their words, actions, and very existence reflect Your love and truth. May they find their identity and worth in Christ alone, not in the approval of others or the fleeting things of this world.

We rebuke any spirit of doubt, fear, or unbelief that would seek to hinder this work of faith. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will equip them with everything good for doing Your will (Hebrews 13:21).

Lord, if there are areas in their life that do not align with Your Word, whether in relationships, habits, or thought patterns, we ask that You convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them into repentance. Help them to walk in holiness, as You are holy (1 Peter 1:16).

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You will answer this prayer according to Your perfect timing and will. May [this dear one] grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To You be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Be encouraged, dear one. God is not slow in keeping His promises (2 Peter 3:9), and He delights in fulfilling the desires of those who fear Him (Psalm 145:19). Continue to seek Him with all your heart, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Walk in the confidence that comes from knowing you are loved, chosen, and called for a purpose far greater than you can imagine.

There is something beautiful about a prayer that simply rests in the majesty of God’s calling. You haven’t asked us to fix anything or carry a burden, you’ve shared a declaration of trust, a reminder that God is the one who makes us worthy and brings every good purpose to completion, not by our straining but by His grace.

When we pray these words together, we’re not just reciting a verse. We’re asking God to do what only He can: align our desires with His goodness, energize our ordinary faith with His extraordinary power, and weave our small stories into the larger glory of Christ’s name. That changes how we face whatever is in front of us today. The work of faith doesn’t rest on our shoulders alone; it’s His work, carried by His power.

What anchors us as we go into the rest of this week is that the same grace that called us is the grace that sustains us. We don’t have to manufacture worthiness or strive for goodness in our own steam. We simply stay close to Jesus, and He shapes both our wanting and our doing. Sometimes the most faithful step is to pause and remember that, letting the truth settle deeper than our feelings or circumstances.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You count us worthy, not because we’ve earned it, but because Your grace makes it so. Fulfill every desire for goodness You’ve planted in this community. Strengthen the work of faith with Your power, and let Your name be lifted high in our ordinary, daily lives. We rest in You, trusting that You will finish what You’ve started. Amen.

This prayer rises from a soul that has tasted something of the heavenly calling. You desire that God would count you worthy, and well you may, for in yourself there is no worthiness at all. He empties us of self that we may see the fullness of Christ. He kills our pride that we may see the excellence of Christ. He takes away our strength that we may behold the power of Christ. To be counted worthy is to be found in Him, clothed in His righteousness, and walking in the good works He has prepared. The very essence of faith lies there, being lost in ourselves and found in Christ, leaving our souls in Jesus' hands.

And you long for every desire of goodness to be fulfilled, and the work of faith to be done with power. This is no small petition. To bring down the pride of man, to subjugate his will and to captivate his passions so that he shall cheerfully accept that which God presents to him in the Person of Christ Jesus, is a labor worthy of God. It requires the exceeding greatness of His power, the same mighty strength which raised Christ from the dead and set Him at God's right hand. The blessed Spirit is always the secret Author of faith; it is not of ourselves, it is the gift of God. What a mercy that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion!

The end of all this is that the Name of our Lord Jesus should be glorified in us, and we in Him. Right away from the gates of Hell, up to the pearly gates of Heaven, it is Christ Jesus who is glorified! In the church, no one is glorified but Christ. He has none to share His honor. When He lifts us into union with Himself, we share His glory not by stealing it, but by reflecting it, as the jewel reflects the light. We become partakers of His grace here and His bliss hereafter, where they hunger no more, for the renown of Christ fills their spirits with everlasting contentment.

Remember then: the power that shall work in you is the very power of the coming Savior. It is not some new thing reserved for the last day, but the same power which is in Him at this moment, going forth among His people. Trust in that Christ who rose from the dead, He can cleanse you from the dominion and habit of sin. The natural and inevitable fruit of faith in Christ is holiness. Make much of faith. Make much of the blood by which you have washed. Apart from Christ, we are cast off; but in Him, you are brought near.

You pray always for this. So pray on, dear soul. Christ speaks with power still: “Make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house.” Let every desire drive you to Him. Let every failure cast you upon His grace. It is all according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ, free, sovereign, unmerited, and unfailing. He will glorify His Son in you, and you in Him, to the praise of His glory. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You set before yourself a high and holy desire, to be counted worthy of your calling and to see every good purpose and work of faith fulfilled with power, so that the name of the Lord Jesus may be glorified in you and you in Him. This is the very thing the Apostle prayed without ceasing, and it is a sign of a soul that has already begun to taste the grace of God. But let no one imagine this is a small or easy matter. It is the work of a lifetime, and it requires that we live each day in a manner that answers to such a prayer.

How then shall we be counted worthy? Not by sitting idle, nor by merely wishing for it, but by pressing forward and forgetting what lies behind, by stretching out toward the prize of the high calling. God has joined your desire to His grace, but He asks for your own earnest labor. Cleanse your hands, therefore, and do good. Judge the fatherless, plead for the widow, extend mercy to the wronged. For God makes great account of mercy, and by such works you adorn the soul and glorify Him. Yet do not think that good deeds alone will suffice if the heart is not lowly. Seek grace from God rather than from men. David found favor with God, while Absalom courted men’s approval and perished. Pharaoh was honored by men, Abraham by God: consider the end of each. True worthiness begins when we humble ourselves, when we count no sacrifice too great for the love of Christ.

This very prayer speaks of the work of faith with power. What is faith? It is to be fully persuaded that what God has promised, He is able to perform. This is no weak or doubting thing, but a lofty, noble disposition. When Abraham believed, he gave glory to God, and this was counted to him for righteousness. So too, when you trust God without curious questioning, you glorify Him. And when tribulation comes for Christ’s sake, do not shrink back. That very affliction is your glory, and by it both you and your Master are glorified. He is glorified because you prefer nothing to Him; you are glorified because you receive power from Him to endure. All this is according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

But take heed. Do not approach such blessings with an evil conscience. If they who defiled the king’s purple suffered as those who rent it, what shall be the punishment of him who receives the Body of the Lord with unclean thoughts? Let us then walk in simplicity and sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God. Examine yourself daily. If any offense has befallen you, wash it away swiftly through repentance. Arm yourself with good works, and reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us.

Therefore, beloved, rouse yourself. How long shall we be nailed to present things? How long shall we neglect our own salvation? Let us give thanks not by faith alone, but by our very life. He who called you is faithful, and He will stablish you, anoint you, seal you, and give you the earnest of the Spirit in your heart. Only do not grow weary. Press on, that you may obtain the good things to come, by the grace and lovingkindness of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory and might forever. Amen.

That verse from Second Thessalonians expresses exactly the kind of prayer I find rising in my own heart for myself and for everyone who trusts in Jesus. You long to be counted worthy of the calling God has placed on your life, to see every desire for goodness fulfilled, and to know the work of faith alive with power. Right away, notice that the worthiness we seek is never something we manufacture. It flows from being in Christ. When God looks at you, because of your simple faith in His Son, He sees you clothed in a righteousness that is complete. That standing before Him is settled. So being counted worthy isn't about earning a place; it's about living in such a way that your life matches the reality of who you already are in Him.

And yet, we all know the struggle. We want to do good, but we find something else close at hand. The flesh is weak. In my own experience, the moment I resolved to serve God purely, I discovered evil present with me. That discovery is painful but necessary, because it drives me to the end of myself. The victory came not by trying harder, but by giving up on my own strength entirely and letting the life of Jesus express itself through me. Paul said, "It is no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me." That is the "work of faith with power" the verse describes. Faith lays hold of the fact that Jesus Himself will manifest His goodness in you by His Spirit. So God isn't only asking you to do something; He is promising to fulfill every good desire by His own life inside you.

And what a desire this is: that Christ's name would be glorified in us and we in Him. That happens when you cling to Jesus alone as your righteousness. Not faith plus your church affiliation, not faith plus your track record, not faith plus religious duties. The moment you add anything to what Jesus has done, you lose the rest. By grace you have been saved, through faith, and that is sheer gift. When you trust Him fully, your works then become the overflow of gratitude, the proof that your faith is genuine, the fruit of a living branch. You don't do them to be saved; you do them because you already are saved, and Christ's love compels you.

This prayer also touches suffering. We often think a strong faith will remove all trouble, but the Scriptures show many who died in faith without receiving the fulfillment of the promise in this life. Faith sustains in the cave and the desert. It endures. Whether you are in a season of open blessing or hidden trial, His grace is sufficient to keep you, and your very endurance becomes a display that the name of Jesus is glorious.

So let these words be your prayer, and join them with mine. Lord, count us worthy of this calling, not because we are spotless by our own efforts, but because You have placed us in Christ. Fulfill every good pleasure of Your goodness, and let Your own faithfulness produce in us the work that has Your power behind it. All for the glory of Jesus, according to the grace that is ours in Him.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heartfelt prayer, lifting up the desire for God to count you worthy of His calling, to fulfill every good desire, and to empower the work of faith in your life so that Christ’s name may be glorified in you. It has been our joy to stand with you in agreement before the throne of grace, praying these very words from Scripture over you and asking the Lord to move mightily in your life.

If you have seen His hand at work—if He has answered this prayer in ways great or small—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness. If, however, the answer has not yet come or feels distant, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are eager to continue interceding on your behalf, believing with you for the fulfillment of His promises.

May the Lord strengthen your heart as you seek Him, deepen your trust in His timing, and fill you with the assurance that He is working all things for His glory and your good. We pray this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
