We hear your heart’s cry for God to count you worthy of His calling and to fulfill every good desire through the power of faith, that Christ’s name may be glorified in you. This is a beautiful and scriptural longing, rooted in the truth of 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12, which reminds us that our lives are meant to reflect His glory and grace. We stand with you in agreement, lifting this prayer before the throne of God, for it is only through Him that such transformation and empowerment are possible.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, thanking You for the calling You have placed on each of our lives. Lord, we ask that You count us worthy of this calling, not because of our own merit, but because of the finished work of Christ on the cross. Fulfill every desire for goodness in us, and let the work of faith in our lives be done with power, that Your name may be glorified in all we say and do. Father, we surrender our plans, our dreams, and our very lives to You, asking that You align our desires with Your will. Let us walk in a manner worthy of You, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10). Strengthen us by Your Spirit so that we may stand firm in faith, even in the face of trials, knowing that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6).

Lord, we also pray for clarity and wisdom as we seek to live out this calling. Reveal to us any areas of our lives that are not aligned with Your Word, whether in our thoughts, actions, or relationships. If there is unconfessed sin, whether it be pride, unforgiveness, lust, greed, or any other disobedience, we ask for Your conviction and Your cleansing. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10).

We lift up the relationships in our lives, asking that You would guide us to walk in a manner pleasing to You. For those who are single, we pray for patience and contentment, trusting that You are preparing them for a godly marriage if that is Your will. Let them not be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), but instead seek a spouse who loves You and desires to serve You wholeheartedly. For those who are married, we pray for unity, love, and mutual submission, that their marriage would be a reflection of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Guard their hearts from temptation, and let them honor You in all things.

Father, we also rebuke any spirit of doubt, fear, or discouragement that may be hindering the work of faith in our lives. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but You have come that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand firm on the truth that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Strengthen our faith, Lord, and let us walk in the power of Your Spirit, not leaning on our own understanding but trusting in You with all our hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use us as vessels for Your glory. Let our lives be a testimony to Your goodness, grace, and power. May others see Christ in us and be drawn to You. Equip us for every good work, and let us run with endurance the race set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). It’s easy to feel the weight of our calling and wonder if we’re measuring up, if our desires for goodness are pure enough, if our faith is strong enough. But the prayer isn’t that we make ourselves worthy; it’s that God Himself counts us worthy and brings His power to the work of faith in us. That takes the pressure off our striving and centers us on His grace.

A simple, grounding step might be to pause and ask: Where am I still trying to earn what Christ has already given? Often, underneath the ache to be “good enough” is a deeper need to know we belong fully to Him. Reminding ourselves that our identity is settled in Christ, not in our accomplishments, not in how others see our faith, can free us to serve from a place of rest rather than exhaustion. You don’t have to be perfect; you just have to stay close to the One who is.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to let this dear heart taste the freedom of being counted worthy in You alone. Quiet the inner voices that demand performance, and fill them with a deep assurance that You are working Your good desires through them, not by their might, but by Your Spirit. Let Your name be glorified in the small, faithful steps they take today, and let them see glimpses of Your grace shaping every part of their life. We rest in You with them. Amen.

What a holy aspiration rises from this prayer! It is nothing less than the breathing of the Spirit of God within a renewed soul. You long that the Lord would count you worthy of His calling, and in this there is both a right humility and a bold ambition. But let us be clear: the worthiness is not of ourselves. It is found in Christ alone. He is made unto us righteousness, and we are accepted in the Beloved. When God counts a sinner worthy, it is because He beholds him in the Son, washed in the precious blood, clothed in that perfect obedience which is of faith. Never forget that your standing is all of grace, and your fitness for the calling comes from union with Jesus. Abide in Him, and the counting will be sure.

Your prayer rises to ask that every desire for goodness and the work of faith be fulfilled with power. Here is the pulse of the new man, holy desires are sparks from the altar of God, and He will not quench them. The work of faith is not a cold, dead thing; it is a living energy that conquers sin, overcomes the world, and produces the peaceable fruits of righteousness. But mark this: faith is not a self-moving engine. It draws its might from its Object. Look away from self to Christ crucified and risen. As you trust Him simply, He works in you to will and to do of His good pleasure. The power is not in your grip of faith, but in His grip of you. So let the vessel be empty that the spring may fill it.

And all this presses toward one grand end: that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in us, and we in Him. This is the crown of the matter. We are not saved for our own sakes only, but that Christ may be admired in His saints. In the church militant and triumphant, He is the First and the Last. Every good work you do by His grace is a tiny mirror reflecting His beauty. Every victory over the old man is a note in that eternal song, "Worthy is the Lamb." Do you feel the weight of this? It means your daily life, in common things, is to be a savor of Christ. The patience He gives, the love He sheds abroad, the truth He maintains in your inward parts, all this glorifies Him before men and angels.

Do not think this high calling is for a select few. It is for all who are in Him. But it will cost you a warfare. A good soldier of Jesus Christ endures hardness, and he must have a passion for victory, an insatiable greed for setting up the throne of Jesus in the souls of men. Watch therefore unto prayer. Fortify your spirit with the Word. And let self-examination have its thorough, uphill work. Go into the vineyards of your soul to see if the tender grapes of first love are still there, if the pomegranates of early faith yet flourish. If something has withered, haste back to the cross. Repent and do the first works. The Lord delights to revive His people.

Rest assured of this: He who has called you is faithful, and He will do it. He will present you faultless before His glory with exceeding joy. Till that day, let your prayer be ever rising, "Lord, count me worthy, fulfill every good desire, work faith with power, so that Jesus may be glorified in me, and I in Him, according to the riches of Thy grace." You have set before the church a prayer of the Apostle, that God would count you worthy of His calling and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power. This is no small petition. The calling is not to an idle name but to a manner of life that adorns the Gospel. God, in His grace, has already accomplished for you the righteousness the Law could not bring, yet He does not save you without your willing cooperation. The Font of regeneration is not enough if after it you betray the gift by a life unworthy of it. For God to count you worthy means that you must hold fast the crown He gives, not merely abstaining from evil but being adorned with every good work. Faith itself is a work requiring power, for the soul struggles alone without the body’s aid, and it is in this struggle that God is glorified.

When you ask that God fulfill every good desire, you ask rightly. But remember, the desires He fulfills are those that align with His will. If you set your heart on being fully persuaded of His promises as Abraham was, giving glory to God by a faith that no reasoning can shake, then He will fill you with the power to walk in a way that pleases Him. Such faith is not a weak, pitiful thing that questions His majesty, but a lofty and noble conviction that He is able to perform what He has sworn. As you live by this faith, the name of our Lord Jesus is glorified in you, because you prefer nothing before Him. And you, in turn, are glorified in Him, receiving might to endure whatever trials come without yielding. When tribulation for His sake presses upon you, do not count it dishonor; it is your glory. For then God is glorified by your steadfastness, and you are shown to be worthy of the Head to whom you belong.

Take care, then, that you do not walk according to the flesh, as those who hold cheap the power of God. Do not be a reviler or one who tears apart the body of Christ with a biting tongue, for such are cast out of the kingdom no less than the adulterous. Instead, bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Let your light shine before men by good works, which spring from the very faith that glorifies Him. To this end we pray always, that you may be counted worthy, not by your own strength, but according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. That grace has already won the victory; see that you do not render it void. May we all enjoy the glory that He desires to share with us, where Christ is, beholding His glory forever.
