God bless ### with truth

Your prayer has been heard and your desire for truth, for patience, and for love that endures through storms is clear. It is good that you want to love faithfully, to be loyal, to forgive, and to be a support and blessing to his mother and to him. Those longings for goodness are themselves gifts from God, and He hears you when you ask for truth.

We will pray with you, not that God would simply bless every part of a relationship as it is, but that He would bless you all with truth, with holiness, and with salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Scripture teaches that all Scripture is given by God and is profitable, and that through patience and comfort of the Scriptures we have hope. The way to know His blessing is to dwell in His word, to meditate on it day and night, and to let it shape our love.

You speak of patience through horrible storms, of loyalty and love that has lasted beyond the early honeymoon season, and of wanting forgiveness. True patience, as the Scriptures show, is not proven in two or three days but over much time, and especially when we face affliction. God uses that patient endurance to build hope, and hope in turn strengthens patience. Part of that patience is learning to tell God honestly where we have sinned, so that we may receive forgiveness and become grateful for His mercy. If we do not name our sins before Him, we cannot know the greatness of the forgiveness He offers in Christ.

You also speak of your union and of deep love for this man and a desire for his mother to see your support. God created love and marriage with a beautiful design. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sexual union and living together belong within that covenant. Love that truly seeks the good of another will want what is holy and right before God, not only what feels close or loyal in the moment. So we will pray that God gives you and him wisdom to honor Him with your bodies and your commitment, either by pursuing marriage in the Lord if that is His will, or by walking in purity and clarity if it is not.

We pray that God will give his mother eyes to see truth with grace, that He will give you strength to love without compromising what is right, that He will teach you both forgiveness as you have been forgiven, and that He will lead you to find your hope not in the stability of a relationship but in Christ who alone saves. Bring these things daily to Him in prayer, stay rooted in the word, and seek counsel from faithful pastors who can walk with you personally toward what is holy and good.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly. Your desire to love well, to be loyal through hard storms, to show patience and forgiveness, and to be a blessing to this man and to his mother is seen by the Lord, and it is good to bring it before Him in prayer.

God is love, and when we abide in Him, His love is made complete in us. That love is not only words, but is shown in deeds and in truth. It is patient and kind, it bears with difficulty, it forgives as Christ forgave us, and it seeks the good of others. The Scriptures teach that all of the law is fulfilled in this one word, that we love the Lord our God with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves. To love in this way does no harm to a neighbor, and that is why love fulfills the law.

Being joined to Christ in the new covenant does not mean we are free to follow our own desires. It means we are now bound by a higher law, the law of love. The law of God itself is holy and good. It shows us what sin is and it shows us our need for a Savior, because it condemns us when we fall short even in heart and mind. That is why we need Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Through faith in Him we are forgiven and we receive new life, and then by His Spirit dwelling in us we are able to walk in newness of life. The fruit of the Spirit is love, and where that love is present there will be joy and peace and patience and faithfulness growing as well.

I hear in your prayer a longing for truth to be known, for this mother to understand your support and care, and for strength to remain faithful through sickness and trial. That kind of steady love comes from abiding in Christ daily, delighting in His Word and letting His Word shape your thoughts and actions. As you meditate on His law and His promises, He makes you wiser and steadies your heart, and He helps you to love not only in what you say but in how you live.

I also want to gently point you to God's good design. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and living together and the union of bodies belongs within that covenant. If you are married, continue to honor that covenant with faithfulness and purity, asking God to help you love as Christ loves. If you are not yet married, I encourage you to seek to honor God with your relationship by pursuing purity and by considering marriage as the place for that lifelong commitment before sharing a home and physical intimacy. In either case, true love will always want what is holy and right before God for the other person.

My prayer for you is that you would know more deeply the love God has for you in Christ, that you would dwell in Him and He in you, and that His love would be perfected in you so you can love this man and his family with patience, forgiveness, and truth. May the Lord give you grace to be loyal through trials, to speak and act in love that is real and consistent, and to seek His will above all. May He also work in the heart of this mother, that she would see Christ in you and that your life would point her to Him.

May the Lord draw each of you closer to Jesus, give you wisdom for each step, and help you to walk in the Spirit so that His love bears fruit in you for His glory.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift up your union as you move beyond the honeymoon phase toward November and we have prayed for the deep love you have for her son and your desire for his mother who calls you baby to know that you support and treasure her and her blessings.

We have prayed that God would bless him with truth and let his mother truly know your heart, your loyalty and your love through every trial. We remember your request for forgiveness and patience through horrible storms and we have asked the Lord to strengthen you in love and faithfulness even through suffering and sickness and to make your loyal heart known to her in His perfect timing. We pray that the Lord will guard your union with His truth and peace as we are reminded in Eph 4:2 and 1 Cor 13:7.

If your request was answered and you have seen God move in your relationship and with his mother, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus Name that God will continue to pour out grace and truth upon you and upon your union and that His will be done in your love. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
