We join you in lifting up this union and this family before the Lord and we thank God for the love and loyalty He has placed in your heart for this man and for his mother.
We hear your desire for truth to prevail and for his mother to know that you support and envision her and her blessings, and that you love her son deeply. It is beautiful that his mother calls you baby and shows affection to you, for Scripture calls us to love one another deeply and to honor one another. We pray that God will continue to build that bond in truth and grace, for we are to speak truth in love and grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ, Ephesians 4:15, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free, John 8:32.
We also hear your heart for patience through horrible storms, for forgiveness, and for faithful love even in physical suffering and vomiting. Love is patient and is kind, love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, 1 Corinthians 13:4, 1 Corinthians 13:7. We are called to walk with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, Ephesians 4:2, and to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32. We pray God will strengthen you to forgive as you have been forgiven, Colossians 3:13, and to let patience have its perfect work through trials, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, and perseverance, proven character, and proven character, hope, Romans 5:3-4.
We want to gently encourage you concerning your union and the honeymoon phase you mention. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed from the beginning, Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh, Genesis 2:24, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate, Mark 10:9. If you are already entered into holy marriage this past November, we rejoice with you and pray God will establish your marriage on Christ and make it a testimony of His faithful love. If you are still in courtship as boyfriend and girlfriend, we encourage you to see this time as courtship with the clear goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, and to pursue purity before marriage, for marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4, and we are called to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18. True love waits and honors God and one another by seeking a godly marriage that reflects Christ and the church, Ephesians 5:25, Ephesians 5:31-32.
We also noticed your closing may have intended to say in Jesus name, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not yet fully entrusted your life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe on Him, confess your sins, and receive His forgiveness and eternal life, for If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9.
We now pray together for you, for him, and for his mother.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. We ask You to bless this dear man with truth, to reveal Yourself to him and to his mother, and to let Your truth dwell richly in their hearts. Lord, let this dear sister's love and loyalty be a reflection of Your love, and let his mother clearly see and know that she is supported, cherished, and prayed for. Give them all patience and endurance through every horrible storm, comfort in every physical trial and sickness, for You heal all our diseases, Psalm 103:3, and You are the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 2 Corinthians 1:3. Teach them to forgive quickly, to bear with one another in love, and to let their union, whether now in marriage or moving toward godly marriage, be built upon You as the solid rock. Keep them from all fornication and lead them into holiness, and let their love be pure, faithful, and enduring. Draw each of them closer to Jesus, that they may know Him as Savior and Lord and walk according to Your will. We ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
