We hear your cry and we stand with you in this battle, for we know that being a Christian in this world is not easy and persecution is part of walking faithfully with the Lord.
Jesus himself warned us of this when He said, If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you, John 15:18-19. And again it is written, Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution, 2 Timothy 3:12. So we want to encourage you that the opposition you are facing from unbelievers does not mean God has abandoned you, but rather it confirms that you belong to Christ and are walking in His light.
We also hear your prayer for mercy, peace and faith, and for the Lord to expose those who hide in secret to curse you. We join you in praying for God's protection and justice, for it is written, No weapon that is formed against you will prevail, Isaiah 54:17, and The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid, Psalm 27:1. Yet we also remember the Lord calls us to a higher response toward those who oppose us. He commands us, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44, and Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19. So while we pray with you that any hidden schemes and curses be exposed and rendered powerless by the light of Christ, we also pray that the Lord would soften the hearts of those who fight against you and bring them to repentance, that they might come to know His love.
We love your desire for the light and love of God to brighten your life and ways, and we pray that you will find peace not in the absence of persecution but in the presence of Christ. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
We notice your prayer speaks of God and the Lord, and we want to gently remind you of the precious truth that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and receive mercy and salvation. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and can boldly approach God for mercy, peace and help in time of need. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus Christ with faith, trusting Him as your Lord and Savior.
We now pray together for you.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother or sister who is facing persecution for Your name's sake. Lord, have mercy and pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon their heart. Strengthen their faith when it feels weak, for we know faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the proof of things not seen, Hebrews 11:1. Help them to stand strong, putting on the whole armor of God, that they may be able to withstand in the evil day, Ephesians 6:13. Lord, let Your light expose every hidden work of darkness, every secret curse or plan meant to spoil them, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We ask You to guard them, to brighten their life and ways with Your love, and to let them feel Your nearness. We also pray for those who are fighting against them, that You would convict their hearts, open their eyes, and draw them to salvation in Jesus. Give our sibling grace to love and pray for their enemies as You have commanded, and to entrust all justice to Your righteous hands. Keep them steadfast, joyful even in trials, knowing that great is their reward in heaven, Matthew 5:12. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to remain rooted in the Word daily, to stay in prayer, and to fellowship with other believers who can strengthen you. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. The Lord sees your struggle, He is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, and His light will continue to guide you through every persecution.
