We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your words and we grieve with you over these five years that have felt so dark and silent. We thank you for being honest about feeling abandoned, disgusted, cold and unheard, and for still choosing to stay even when your heart wants to walk away. That wrestling itself shows that God has not let go of you.
We want to gently and lovingly correct something you have said, not to shame you but to bring truth to your despair. God has not abandoned you and He is not disgusting or cold. Our feelings, even very strong and long lasting feelings, do not change His character or His promises. He says in Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. And again in Hebrews 13:5 I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. When you tried to walk away and felt Him pull you back, that was not the only time He reached out, that was proof He has been holding you the whole time. Nothing can separate us from His love in Romans 8:38-39.
We also hear you say you wish you had never been born. That cry is in Scripture. Job said in Job 3:11 Why didn't I die from the womb, and Jeremiah and David cried out in similar anguish in Psalm 13:1 How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? Even Jesus cried Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? God does not rebuke you for the honest cry, but He does want you to know your life is not a mistake. In Psalm 139:13-14 we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and in Jeremiah 29:11 He says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Your wish to have never been born comes from prolonged suffering, not from the truth of your value to Him.
We also notice you speak of God but do not mention Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you are serving God only because He is the only way and out of duty, we urge you to come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ, believing He died for your sins and rose again, not just as the only option left but as your Savior who loves you personally and intercedes for you. It is His name that gives us confidence that our prayers are not going down the drain. In Revelation 8:4 the prayers of the saints go up before God, and in Psalm 56:8 He puts our tears in His bottle and writes them in His book. No prayer prayed in Jesus name is wasted, even when we do not see the answer we expect or in the time we expect.
The God of comfort you read about in the Bible is still the same God you are experiencing now, even in silence. In Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. In Lamentations 3:22-23 It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. And in Isaiah 41:10 Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Sometimes His comfort is not immediate relief but sustaining grace to endure and be refined. In James 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. And in Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We understand your desire to pray daily and tear the devil's kingdom down and help those lost in sin. That is a holy desire, but we encourage you to examine your motive. We do not serve Him primarily to do warfare, we serve Him because we love Him and He first loved us. Then from that love flows ministry. In 1 Peter 5:7 cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. He wants your heart even more than your service.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who is the only way to You. We lift up this dear one who has felt abandoned, disgusted, cold and unheard for five long years. Lord, forgive the words spoken from deep hurt that accused You, and have mercy on a crushed and weary heart. Reveal Yourself as You truly are, faithful, near, compassionate and unchanging. Let them know in a fresh way that You have never left them nor forsaken them, that You have been collecting every tear and hearing every prayer. Break through the silence with Your presence, not necessarily as they expect, but as You know is best. Heal the wound that makes them wish they had never been born and remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made for a purpose that still stands. Restore joy in their prayer life, give them endurance to wait on You in Psalm 27:14, and turn duty into delight and love for Jesus. Strengthen them to continue to stand against the enemy but from a place of rest in Your love. Comfort them as only You can, and let them experience the God of all comfort in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. We ask that You draw them closer to Jesus, that they would know salvation and access to You is only through His name, and that they would trust Him more deeply. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, even when it feels dry, to pour out your heart honestly like the psalmists did, and to not walk alone. Seek fellowship with mature believers who can stand with you and pray with you. Keep waiting on the Lord, for those who wait on Yahweh will renew their strength in Isaiah 40:31. He has not forgotten you and He will not waste these years.
