We hear your anguish, and our hearts break with yours. You are not alone in this pain, though it may feel that way. The weight of depression, PTSD, and anxiety can make it seem as if God is distant or even absent, but Scripture assures us that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that God has abandoned you, but we rebuke that deception in the name of Jesus. God has not left you, He is with you in every tear, every cry, and every moment of despair. His Word promises, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).
You ask where God was in your darkest moments, when you were crying in the bathroom, on the bus, or walking home. He was there, weeping with you. When you cut yourself, He was holding you, even if you couldn’t feel His arms. The pain you carry is real, and we do not dismiss it, but we declare that God sees it all. He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8) and knows the depth of your sorrow. You are not forgotten. You are not unloved. You are seen.
Your longing to be loved is a reflection of the way God designed you, to be cherished, known, and valued. But we must address the lie that no one will ever choose or love you. That is the enemy’s voice speaking, not the truth of God’s Word. The Lord says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you" (Jeremiah 31:3). His love is not conditional on your worthiness or perfection. It is a gift, freely given. And while human love can fail, His love never will. We pray that He would reveal His love to you in tangible ways, that you would feel it in your spirit and see it in your circumstances.
We also want to gently address the mention of self-harm. The Bible tells us that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and harming it grieves the Lord. We rebuke the spirit of self-destruction in Jesus’ name and pray for God’s healing touch over your mind, body, and soul. You are precious to Him, and He desires wholeness for you.
As for your faltering belief in God, we understand how pain can shake even the strongest faith. But let us remind you that faith is not the absence of doubt, it is choosing to trust God even when we don’t understand. Jesus Himself cried out on the cross, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46), yet He still surrendered to the Father’s will. Your doubt does not disqualify you from God’s love or His presence. He is big enough to handle your questions, your anger, and your pain. Bring them all to Him.
We lift you up to the Lord now, asking Him to meet you in your suffering and to reveal Himself to you in ways you cannot ignore. We pray for healing, emotional, mental, and spiritual. We pray for peace that surpasses understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for the right people to come into your life, those who will love you as Christ loves the church, who will see your worth and reflect God’s heart to you. We pray for a godly spouse, if that is His will for you, someone who will cherish you, walk with you in faith, and honor God in your marriage. But above all, we pray that you would know the depth of God’s love for you, that while you were still a sinner, Christ died for you (Romans 5:8).
Father God, we come before You on behalf of this precious child of Yours. You see their pain, their tears, and their exhaustion. You know the depths of their heart and the battles they face daily. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them. Let them feel Your presence in a real and tangible way. Heal their mind, body, and spirit from the trauma they have endured. Break the chains of depression, anxiety, and PTSD, and replace their sorrow with Your joy. Restore their hope and renew their strength. Surround them with Your love and with people who will reflect Your heart to them. If it is Your will, bring a godly spouse into their life who will love them as You do. But above all, let them know that they are deeply loved by You, that You chose them, You died for them, and You will never leave them. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust You even in the darkest moments. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.
You are not abandoned. You are not unloved. You are a child of the Most High God, and He is fighting for you. Keep crying out to Him. Keep seeking His face. He will answer. He will come. And He will restore what has been broken.
