Please pray for my friend. She started a new job where she doesn't fit into the clique dynamics that are established in the workplace. She is supposed to lead a team that doesn't support her. She is losing her trust and faith.

We hear your heart for your friend, and we lift her up before the Lord with great compassion. Workplace challenges can be deeply discouraging, especially when leadership feels unsupported and isolation creeps in. The weight of feeling unseen or undervalued can shake even the strongest faith, but we know that God sees her, knows her struggles, and is working even in this difficult season.

First, we must address the matter of faith and trust. Your friend’s mention of losing trust and faith is a serious concern. Faith in God is the foundation of our strength, especially in trials. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." It is not the approval of coworkers or the ease of a situation that sustains us, it is the unchanging nature of God. We must pray that she turns her eyes back to Him, remembering that her identity and worth are found in Christ alone, not in the opinions of others.

This situation also calls for wisdom in leadership. Leading a team that does not yet respect or support her will require both grace and firmness. James 1:5 tells us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We pray that God would grant her divine wisdom in how to navigate these relationships, how to lead with humility, yet with the authority God has placed upon her. She is not alone in this; the Holy Spirit is her Helper, and Christ is her ultimate example of servant leadership.

We also rebuke the spirit of division and cliquishness in that workplace. Wherever people gather, the enemy seeks to sow discord, but God calls us to unity in the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:3 urges us to "be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." If there are believers in her workplace, we pray they would rise up as allies, not participants in exclusion. If not, we pray that God would soften hearts and open doors for her to demonstrate Christ’s love in action.

Let us pray now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister in this difficult workplace situation. Lord, You see her struggles, her loneliness, and her weariness. We ask that You would be her strength when she is weak, her confidence when she feels inadequate, and her peace when anxiety rises. Remind her that her worth is not determined by the approval of others but by Your unchanging love for her. Restore her trust in You, Lord, and let her faith rise above her circumstances.

Father, we ask for wisdom for her as she leads. Give her discernment in her words and actions, that she may lead with both grace and authority. Soften the hearts of her team members, Lord. Break down walls of division and replace them with mutual respect and cooperation. If there are believers in that workplace, raise them up as allies and encouragers. If not, use her as a light in that darkness, that others may see Christ through her.

We rebuke the spirit of exclusion and cliquishness in that place, Lord. Let Your love and unity prevail. Strengthen her, Father, and remind her that she is never alone, You are with her always. May she find her refuge in You, and may this trial produce perseverance, character, and hope in her life.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who overcame the world and who intercedes for us even now. Amen.

To your friend, we say this: Do not lose heart. God has placed you in this position for a reason, and He will equip you for every challenge. Lean on Him, seek His face daily, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. You are not forgotten, God is with you, and so are we, standing in prayer by your side.

We can only imagine how hard this is for your friend, and for you as you watch her go through it. Starting a new job is disorienting enough without feeling frozen out by the very team she’s supposed to lead. The loneliness of that position can cut deep, and it’s no wonder her trust and faith are wearing thin.

Sometimes it helps to remember that what she’s experiencing may not actually be about her. New leaders often step into a group in the storming stage, where members pull back, challenge authority, and test boundaries. It feels personal, but it’s often a normal (if painful) part of a team’s growing pains. That doesn’t make the isolation easier, but it can lift the weight of assuming she’s the problem.

While she finds her footing, she needs safe places to breathe. You’re already one of them. Keep reminding her that her worth isn’t on trial with this group. Encourage her to stay tethered to the people and rhythms that steady her, her church, a small group, even worship music that anchors her when prayer feels hollow. Faith doesn’t collapse all at once; sometimes it just gets buried under a pile of discouragement. Brushing that off together can do more than you know.

Lord Jesus, be near her right now. When she feels invisible or unwanted, let her sense Your steady presence. Give her wisdom for navigating the tension without losing herself, and send her even one genuine ally in that workplace. Hold her trust when she can’t hold it herself. Amen.

Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. The trial of your friend is no small thing, for the fiery darts of the wicked are sharp and many, jealous glances, whispered words, a team that withholds its loyalty. Yet this is the very hour when the shield of faith must be lifted high. Above all, taking the shield of faith. Not the skulking place of cowards, but the strong defense that bears the blows and quenches every dart. Faith is not a dainty ornament for sunny days; it is heaven’s forging, tested in the furnace, meant for such a time as this. Let her not cast it aside because the battle waxes hot.

You say she loses trust and faith. But look well to the object of that trust. Faith in the favor of men is a poor, pieced-together thing, it will split at the first stroke. The shield that endures must be all of one piece. Let her turn her eyes from the cliques and the cold shoulders, and fix them solely upon Christ. Trust Jesus just as she is, without waiting for feelings of strength or worthiness. It is a sham of faith that can only trust when visible comforts abound. The hearing of faith says, “Though the evidence of my eyes be dark, yet will I believe.” If she has trusted Christ for the salvation of her soul, let her now trust Him for the ordering of her path. The walk of faith receives Christ for all things, and keeps Him as the substance even when the infidel world laughs.

Her present duty is not to win the applause of her team, but to obey her Lord in that difficult place. The obedience of faith arises not from terror but from love, it makes Christ the paramount authority. If He has set her there to lead, let her lead with quiet diligence and humility, looking unto Him. The least faith, if it be genuine, can do wonders. A grain of mustard seed can upheave a mountain of opposition. And even when her faith seems but a trembling thing, half drowned in a sea of doubt, let her cry, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” Christ does not break the bruised reed; He acknowledges the feeblest faith that clings to Him.

Tell her to cease from trying to feel better, to stop attempting to repair her own courage. Faith is not first a feeling, but a receiving. She must come with empty hands, just as she is, and trust the Crucified One to sustain her in this trial. Let her give up all earthly confidence, all human hope, and repose in Jesus crucified. There alone will she find rest for her soul. The wasps of doubt gather where the honey of promise is, but the promise remains sure. God is faithful, and He will not leave her to sink. If she will but commit her way to Him, the outcome shall be peace, and in due season, a testimony of His delivering hand.
