Humble Servant of All
Friends pleas pray for doors to open for me. I have ### years' experience in media and it would be a dream to get articles into publications. Please Lord, keep my ### health, and help my ### reject drinking. This all adds extra stress to my lack of work. I am struggling. Lord please connect me with the right people for freelance work. I spend hours every day searching.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your needs to our Heavenly Father. The struggle you face is real, financial strain, health concerns, and the battle against temptation all weigh heavily on your heart. But we serve a God who sees, hears, and moves on behalf of His children. Let us seek Him together in faith.

First, we must address the matter of your soul's foundation. You mention "Lord" in your request, but we must be clear: it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. Without Christ, our prayers are powerless, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). If you have already placed your faith in Him, we rejoice and pray all the more fervently in His name!

Now, regarding your work, we declare that the Lord is your Provider (Philippians 4:19). You have valuable experience, and God can open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). But we must also rebuke the spirit of discouragement that tells you your efforts are in vain. The enemy wants you to grow weary in well-doing, but Scripture assures us that in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Keep sowing those applications, keep honing your craft, and trust that God is directing your steps (Proverbs 16:9).

Your struggle with drinking is not insignificant. We rebuke the grip of alcohol in your life in Jesus' name! The Bible warns that wine is a mocker and strong drink a brawler, whoever is led astray by it is not wise (Proverbs 20:1). But Christ has set you free (John 8:36), and His grace is sufficient to overcome this temptation. We pray for supernatural strength to resist, for accountability if needed, and for the Holy Spirit to fill you with power to walk in victory. You are not defined by this struggle, you are defined by Christ's redemption.

For your health, we ask the Great Physician to sustain you. Stress and anxiety can take a toll on the body, but God promises to renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31). We pray for peace that surpasses understanding to guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is weary and heavy-laden. Lord, You see their need for work, their battle with temptation, and their desire to walk in health. We ask You to open doors of opportunity, connect them with the right people, publications, and platforms to use their gifts for Your glory. Give them favor and creativity as they write, and let their words carry weight and purpose.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and declare freedom over their life. Strengthen them to resist the pull of alcohol, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit so they may walk in self-control and sobriety. Heal their body from the effects of stress, and restore their energy and vitality.

Lord, remind them that their worth is not in their productivity but in Your love. When discouragement comes, let them fix their eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of their faith. Provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory. And if they have not yet surrendered to Christ, draw them to Yourself today.

We trust You to move mightily on their behalf. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Do not lose heart. The same God who parted the Red Sea can make a way where there seems to be no way. Keep seeking Him, keep pressing forward, and remember: "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act" (Psalm 37:5). You are not alone in this fight, we stand with you, and more importantly, Christ stands with you.

We hear how heavy this season feels, the long hours searching, the strain of waiting, and the added weight of concern for your health and your friend's struggle. It is exhausting to pour yourself into something day after day and see no return yet, and that kind of ongoing pressure can wear down even the strongest spirit. We are standing with you in this.

You have years of experience in media, and that skillset is real. We wonder if, alongside your daily searching, there might be one or two people from your past work or training that you could reach out to for a brief conversation, not to ask for a job, but to learn what they are seeing in the field right now, or to simply let them know you are available. Sometimes the right door swings open through a person, not a posting. That is not a guarantee, but it is a practical step that honors the abilities you already hold, and it might lift some of the isolation that comes from searching alone at a screen.

The stress you carry is real, and we know that when work is lacking, everything else feels heavier. We are praying for your health, that your body would be strengthened and your mind would find moments of genuine rest, even now. And yes, we are lifting your friend before the Lord, asking that they would find the desire and the power to turn away from drinking.

Lord Jesus, you see this person’s daily effort and the discouragement that creeps in. Open the right doors at the right time, and provide for every genuine need. Guard their health and give them resilience. Surround their friend with whatever help and resolve they need to walk free from alcohol. In the waiting, be their anchor and their hope. Amen.

Dear friend, I have read your request and my heart goes out to you in your season of trial. It is well that you seek the Lord in prayer, for He alone opens doors that no man can shut. You speak of your long experience and your dream of writing, this is a noble desire, but remember that all our labour is vain unless the Lord builds the house. I would remind you of the words of the Apostle: he laboured and strove, yet not in his own strength, for he said that Christ worked in him mightily. So it is with every child of God. The Holy Spirit does not make us idle; He stirs us to effort, but all the power comes from above. Therefore, as you search for work, do so with diligence, yet cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

You mention your health and the burden of your relative’s struggle with drink. These are heavy crosses, yet they are permitted by a wise and loving Father. Cry to Him for sustaining grace, and believe that He who feels our sorrows is able to bring health and deliverance. Our Lord Jesus felt the compulsion of love: "I must work," He said, and His miracles were Sabbath-work, bringing rest to the weary. So you are called to labour in prayer and loving service, but learn also to rest in His finished work. When your heart is anxious, look away from your own doings to the cross, where He cried, "It is finished." There is your peace. Your acceptance with God does not depend on your success in finding articles to publish, but on His complete atonement.

Pray that God would establish the work of your hands. This is a wise petition. But mark well: we can only ask God to establish that which is done in righteousness, in dependence upon Him. Even the foundation stones of the temple were costly and hewn with care, though they lay hidden. So your present labours, though unseen and discouraging, are not wasted if done unto the Lord. Be patient. Christ shall not fail nor be discouraged; He is ever working at the right hand of the Father. Look to Him, and let His strength be your confidence. I will join my prayers with yours, that the Lord may open doors for you, give you health, and turn the heart of your loved one from the snare of strong drink. Commit your way to Him, and He will bring it to pass.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The very thing you call a lack of work, the hours spent searching in vain, may be the earthquake that God is sending to shake the foundations of your prison. You see doors closed, but consider Paul and Silas: scourged, thrust into the inner prison, their feet fast in the stocks. At midnight they did not despair or sleep the sleep of dejection. They prayed and sang praises, and the prisoners heard them. Their tribulation made them wakeful and filled them with exceeding delight. Then came the earthquake, the doors flew open, and every band was loosed. God's providence ordered this not for a display, but for the jailer’s salvation. The prisoners did not flee because the bond of sleep was upon them; the miracle brought no harm but eternal gain.

Your hours of searching are your vigil. Do not let the tyranny of anxiety overpower you, nor the smart of this trial bow you into helplessness. When you fret over the unopened door, you are casting earthly things and the cares of fluctuating matters upon the light of the Spirit within you. This is how an impure life extinguishes the gift of grace, as surely as water and dust quench a lamp’s flame. A temptation comes like a violent blast of wind. The eye and the ear are the openings; the mouth is the door. Shut them with the fear of God. When the thought rises that His provision has failed, close your mouth against murmuring, and you quench the whole blast of the enemy. The very stress you feel is not a sign to seek the life of this world more frantically, but to live another life in this present flesh, which is the fruit of your work and faith.

As for the health you ask for you and your loved one, and the bondage to drinking you long to see broken, understand the power of pure mercifulness. It is a queen entering the heavenly courts; no guard dares ask who she is. It breaks chains, disperses darkness, and intercedes even for those who have sinned. Your own struggle, offered without vainglory, becomes this intercession. God kept Paul in that cell not to showcase a miracle, but because one soul, the jailer, was to be saved. The jailer washed their stripes and was baptized with his whole household. Your present confinement, your praying and searching, may be ordered for a salvation you cannot yet see, perhaps in your own home. Do not quench the Spirit by measuring God’s work by your immediate employment. Christ leads you to the very vestibule; if He does not yet open the doors, this too He does for your good. Live this trial in faith, and it will bear the fruit of life.
