Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your daughter has been heard and I join my voice with yours before the Lord who is able to deliver from evil and to bring us into sonship through Christ.
We pray together that God will flood your daughter's mind with clarity and give her courage to step out of bondage and return to the safety and love of home and family. We ask that He open her eyes to see this relationship as it truly is, not as love but as manipulation and control, marked by dishonesty and exploitation. We pray she will understand that financial control is not love or security, and that her resources are not to be managed or spent by another. We ask that every plan to divide and isolate her from her parents, her siblings, her family and her friends will come to nothing.
We ask the Lord to set a guard around her at her work and at every event where He has placed her, that she will keep her heart fixed on the purpose He has given her there, and that no jealous or disrespectful influence will distract her or steal her gratitude for the work entrusted to her.
We pray also for conviction where there has been overstepping. We ask that this young man and his mother will be convicted where they have enabled what is wrong and placed undue responsibility on your daughter. We pray that his parents will take proper responsibility for their own son and direct him to live as a single man should live, alone and accountable to his own family, rather than continuing a living arrangement that is neither a home nor a marriage. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that living together and sexual union belong only within that covenant. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, but to bring order, virtue and holiness, which alone bring true sweetness and peace.
We join you in praying that God will restore in your daughter a humble, grateful, kind and gracious spirit, that she will again honor and give thanks for her parents and family. Honoring father and mother is the first commandment with a promise, and we pray that she will turn away from seeking the approval of those who would lead her away from that foundation and return to the love that has always sought her good.
We plead the blood of Jesus Christ over you and over your children and ask for a shield of protection over your whole household, trusting the promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that by His wounds we are healed. We ask for supernatural strength, courage, grace and favor for you as you continue to follow biblical teaching and to speak truth in love. May the Lord keep you in close fellowship with Himself, rooted in His Word, surrounded by healthy family and believing friends, and give you wisdom to keep clear and loving boundaries. May your words to your daughter continue to be full of both truth and grace, never excusing sin but always pointing her to the unconditional love of God and of her family, a love offered through Jesus Christ alone, in whom alone is salvation.
We declare with you that nothing is impossible for God. We ask Him to break every chain and completely remove the ungodly hold that has brought chaos, ungratefulness, disrespect and exhaustion. We ask Him to fill you and your household with His Holy Spirit, with peace, love, protection and healing, and to bring complete restoration, unity, freedom and victory to your family.
Lord, speak to this dear daughter even now. Remind her that she is Yours, that You have power to protect her, to provide for her and to restore all that has been taken. Lead her swiftly and without regret out of this dark path and into freedom, into a life of responsibility and independence before You, into true self worth and joy in You. As faith made the daughter whole in the gospel, we pray that great faith will rise in this mother and in this daughter, and that it will be unto her according to that faith. Grant more than mere escape from trouble, grant the settled conviction to despise what is evil and to love what is holy.
We entrust your daughter and your family into the hands of Christ, beseeching Him to be present in your home, for He is not ashamed to be present where He is sought in prayer, and to answer according to His mercy and power. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
