Freedom, Protection, Restoration and Breakthrough

We have heard the burden of your heart for your older daughter and your family, and we join you in bringing this before the Lord with urgency and with hope in Christ.

Your love for your daughter and your desire to see her walk in truth is evident. You are right to grieve the living arrangement outside of marriage, and we will not ask God to bless what His Word calls outside of His design. Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy and living together as husband and wife belong within that covenant alone. What you describe, a home built on cohabitation, financial exploitation, control, and counsel to have children outside of marriage, is not marriage and should not be treated as marriage. We pray instead for your daughter to be set free from this bondage and to be restored to fellowship with Christ and with her family and church.

We pray with you for freedom, protection, restoration and breakthrough. We ask the Father to expose every manipulative and divisive scheme and to frustrate every plan that seeks to isolate, control, and demean your daughter. We pray that He would break every chain and silence every word spoken against you and your children, and that He would guard your daughter's new promotion and her finances, giving her wisdom to steward what God has provided and courage to no longer fund a lifestyle that dishonors Him and leaves her exhausted and in hardship. We ask that the Lord would draw a clear line around your family and keep you under the covering of the blood of Christ, for no weapon formed against those who are in Christ shall finally prosper.

We pray especially for your daughter's heart. As Christ called the woman who touched Him in faith daughter and said her faith had made her whole, so we pray your daughter would remember who she is. Through faith in Christ we are given adoption as sons and daughters, not because of any human family that claims her, but because we have put on Christ and received His Spirit. May the Holy Spirit open her eyes to see this young man not as a husband, provider, or spiritual leader, but as a stumbling block to her walk with God, and may He soften her heart to receive correction and give her courage to walk away swiftly and without regret. We pray that her hunger for righteousness would be reignited, that she would turn from stubbornness, gossip and mocking, and that God would restore to her a grateful, gracious, loving and respectful spirit. We pray she would stop seeking counsel from those who lead her away from the church, and return to the safety and wisdom of her family and her church community where she is truly known and loved.

We also pray for the young man and his mother, that God would bring conviction and repentance where there has been pride, selfishness, jealousy and control, and that the father in that home would take proper responsibility for his own household. We do not pray for their influence to continue, but for truth to be revealed and for ungodly authority to be removed.

For you, we pray for strength as you endure cold and disrespectful words, and for wisdom to love without enabling. Continue to keep the door open in love, speak the truth with gentleness, maintain healthy boundaries around finances and access to your home, and remain faithful in prayer and in the Word. Seek the Lord first for your daughter's future, as Abraham's servant sought God when seeking a spouse, asking Him to provide in His time a man who will truly be a husband and protector, a man of piety, gentleness, and the fear of God, rather than wealth or outward show. Nothing is more beautiful and more joyful than a life ordered by virtue and the fear of the Lord, and that is what we ask God to restore to her.

May the Lord grant deliverance not only from outward pressure but inward freedom, teaching her to despise what dishonors Him and to choose what is holy. May He restore peace, fellowship, happiness, respect, unity and freedom to your home, and overflow your family with His supernatural love, favor and protection. We ask that when your daughter visits, she would be guarded from hatred and manipulation and would experience again the love of a family that raised her in the ways of the Lord.

We stand with you for her complete restoration and for a future guided by Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.
