Beloved of All
Your burden for this man is heard and I join you in bringing him before the Lord in prayer.
Jesus said in Luke 9:24 that whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Him will save it. That is the heart of your request and it is exactly what this man needs. Apart from Christ a person is without hope and without God, far off and alienated, but through the blood of Jesus those who were far off can be brought near. The law rightly shows us our guilt and drives us to faith in Christ, because only faith in Him is counted for righteousness.
So I pray with you that the Father would open his eyes today. Scripture says now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation, and we are not to receive the grace of God in vain. Christ died to offer forgiveness, and that gift must be received. Pray that God would strengthen him inwardly by His Spirit, that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, for that is how we are saved. Pray that he would turn from following his own desires on a broad and false path and be saved from losing his life by truly losing it to Jesus.
When a person trusts in Christ, God gives a new identity. We are no longer defined by our background, our failures, or the false identities we build for ourselves when we stray. We become children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, accepted in the Beloved, made His workmanship created in Christ for good works that God has prepared beforehand. His life is then no longer his own. Christ comes to dwell in the heart through faith, to settle down and make Himself at home there, and that life becomes rooted and grounded in love. This is the eternal purpose God purposed in Christ from the beginning, to gather all things together in Him.
God has a holy plan for this man, as He does for every person who is in Christ, and that plan is found only in Jesus. Eternal life is in the Son, and he who has the Son has life. Pray that he will hear the voice of the Lord, that the light of Christ will expel the darkness, that he will be delivered from every deception, and that he will walk in the new life of the Spirit, rooted and built up in Christ.
Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for mercy and grace upon this former landlord. Open his eyes to see his true need and his true identity in Christ. Grant him repentance and faith so that he loses his life for Jesus sake and truly saves it. Let Christ dwell in his heart through faith and lead him in the good works You have ordained for him. We ask that he will know Your love, be established in it, and shine as a light holding forth the word of life. We trust Your power and Your faithfulness to save. Amen.
