Former landlord

Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

Please pray that, in the name of Jesus, the landlord recognises his true identity in Christ, and that his eyes are opened to the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires.

We join with you in praying in the mighty name of Jesus for your former landlord, and we are encouraged by your heart to see him come to saving faith and to walk in the light of Christ.

You have chosen a powerful truth to pray from, for Jesus said in Luke 9:24, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. This is the heart of the gospel, that we must surrender our own way, our own desires and our own control, and give our lives fully to Jesus in order to truly find life. We also remember what Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We pray for this man that the Father would draw him by His Spirit, that the veil would be lifted from his eyes. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them, and we pray that light will now dawn on him. We pray as in Ephesians 1:18, that having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, you may know what is the hope of his calling. We pray he will see the false identity that comes from following his own desires and straying from the narrow path, and that he will instead receive his true identity in Christ, for in 2 Corinthians 5:17, If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new, and in Ephesians 2:10, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.

We also pray that he will learn to hear the voice of the Lord concerning His holy plan for his life, for Jesus said in John 10:27, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. We pray the Lord will speak clearly to him and give him a heart willing to listen and obey, and that he will turn from darkness to light, for in John 8:12 Jesus said, I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this former landlord to You and ask for Your mercy and grace upon his life. Lord, we ask that You would convict his heart of his need for a Savior, that he would lose his life for Your sake and so save it. Open his eyes, Lord, to see who You truly are and who he is meant to be in You. Remove any blindness and deception, expel all darkness and the influence of unclean spirits, and let Your light shine brightly into his heart. Cause him to hear Your voice and to recognize Your holy plan for his life, and give him the courage to surrender to it. We declare victory in Jesus name over this rented apartment situation and over every area where the enemy has sought to hold ground, for Your power is mighty and no one can withstand You. We ask that You would lead him on his journey into repentance, faith, and new life, that he would confess with his mouth as in Romans 10:9, that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead, and be saved. We thank You for Your love and faithfulness that endures forever, and we trust that You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance as You say in 2 Peter 3:9. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and our salvation. Amen.

Thank you for bringing your former landlord before the Lord in this way. It says a lot that you want not just resolution to a rental situation but his eternal good.

We join you in asking that the Lord draw him gently to Himself, that he would come to know Jesus not as an idea but as Savior, and find the wholeness and mercy God offers to all who turn to Him. We also hear your heart for him to hear God's leading and to discover who he truly is in Christ, rather than the restless identity we all chase when we follow our own desires. That kind of settled identity, rooted in being known and loved by God, is what steadies a person when life feels uncertain.

One simple way to keep carrying this burden is to keep praying briefly by name when he comes to mind, entrusting him to the Lord's timing and asking for an open door if God wants to use you to reflect His character in any future contact, without forcing it.

Father, we bring this landlord before You. Draw him to Jesus, open his eyes to Your truth and Your love, and help him hear Your voice and follow Your good plan for his life. Give him a clear sense of his true identity as one made and loved by You. We trust him to Your grace and power. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and we join with you in earnest prayer before the throne of grace, for there is no work more fitting than to plead for a soul that it might be saved in Christ.

The word you have brought before us is true and solemn, For whosoever will save his life shall lose it, but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. Here our Lord shews us that the only way to keep life is to yield it up to Him. We pray that this former landlord may be brought to see that salvation is of the Lord alone, and that all salvation lies wrapped up in the person of Jesus Christ. May his eyes be opened to behold Christ as God's salvation, and may he be enabled by grace to trust himself wholly and entirely into the hands of Christ, for that is to see salvation.

We entreat the Lord that He who works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure would work effectually in this man, that he may come to God as he actually is, as a sinner needing mercy, and find that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Oh that he might hear the voice of God speaking in the Scriptures and by the Spirit, not as one trusting in his own wisdom or his own way, but as one who has been made to hear and to obey the holy plan of God for his life. We pray that the light which shines in the face of Jesus Christ may dispel all darkness from his understanding.

We ask also that he may know his true standing, not in the false identity which a man builds for himself when he strays from the narrow path and follows his own desires, but in Christ alone. Man by nature is blind and apart from God, but when Christ is revealed to the heart, that soul learns that his life is not his own, but Christ liveth in him. May the Lord grant him that Christward knowledge, that he may confess with the apostle, This is the true God, and eternal life.

We therefore pray, O Lord Jesus, reign over all darkness and let Thy light expel it. Have mercy upon this man. Bring him to lose his life for Thy sake that he may truly save it. Bring him to repentance and faith, that he may be preserved in Thee. Let him hear Thy voice and follow Thee, and let him be clothed in the righteousness which Thy active obedience has provided. This we ask not as those who would join anything with Christ, for He only is our rock and our salvation, but as those who know that preservation is of the Lord alone. Grant this, we beseech Thee, for Thy great name's sake. Amen.
