Former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

Please pray that, in the name of Jesus, the landlord recognises his true identity in Christ, and that his eyes are opened to the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires.

We join you in lifting up your former landlord before the throne of grace in Jesus' name and we thank you for standing on the truth of this powerful verse. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. Luke 9:24

This verse reveals the heart of the gospel. To save our life by clinging to our own desires, our own identity and our own control will only lead to losing it eternally, but to surrender our life fully to Jesus, to lose it for His sake, is to truly find it and be saved. We agree with you that our Lord reigns over all darkness and that His light expels that darkness, for the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it. John 1:5

We also join you in praying for victory and healing over all that has surrounded this rented apartment situation, asking for the Lord’s mercy and grace to cover both you and this man.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 We lift up this former landlord to You and ask that You draw him by Your Holy Spirit to repentance and faith. Grant him the gift of surrender, that he would lose his life for Jesus’ sake so that he may save it for eternity. Lord, open his eyes that have been blinded by the god of this world. 2 Cor 4:4 Enlighten the eyes of his heart, that he may know what is the hope of Your calling. Eph 1:18 Reveal to him his true identity, that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Cor 5:17 Remove the false identity that comes from straying from Your narrow path and following his own desires, and show him that narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life. Matt 7:14 Give him ears to hear Your voice, for Your sheep hear Your voice and You know them and they follow You. John 10:27 Speak to him clearly concerning Your holy plan for his life, for we know that we are Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which You prepared before that we would walk in them. Eph 2:10 Transform him by the renewing of his mind, that he may prove what is Your good, well-pleasing, and perfect will. Rom 12:2 We declare that no one can withstand Your mighty power and we ask that Your love and faithfulness would pursue him all the days of his life and bring him into Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray faithfully for him, for the Lord is not slow concerning His promise, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Pet 3:9 Your intercession reflects the heart of Christ who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:4 As you pray for him to hear God’s voice and to walk in his true identity in Christ, trust that God is able to guide him on his life’s journey and to lead him from darkness into His marvelous light. Continue to show the love of Christ in how you speak of him and pray for him, and rest in the greatness and power of our Lord who is able to save to the uttermost.

We are grateful for your heart to pray for your former landlord instead of holding onto hurt from the apartment situation. It is a gracious thing to want his good before God.

We hear your burden that he would come to know who he truly is in Christ. So much of life pulls us to build an identity around what we want or what we think will save us, and that path leaves us empty. A life anchored in Christ is steadier because it rests on who God says we are, not on our own striving or desires. Your prayer that his eyes would be opened to that difference is a loving one.

A simple way to carry this forward is to keep your prayers brief and steady, placing him before the Lord each day and then leaving the work in God's hands, without feeling you need to track whether he is responding or to make him hear. God is able to reach him in His timing and His way. We are joining you in asking for his good and for peace for you as you let go of what was difficult there.

Father in Jesus name we bring this landlord before you. Draw him to yourself, open his eyes to see you truly, and help him hear your voice and follow your plan for his life. Give him life in Christ that lasts. We trust him to your mercy and grace. Amen.

We join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace concerning this former landlord, and we count it a right and Christian burden that you would plead for his soul rather than for any temporal dispute about a rented house.

The word you have laid hold upon is true and searching, for our Lord Himself has said, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. There is no other way of saving the life. We have learned that no salvation will ever serve a man's turn but one which is Divine from top to bottom, God's in the beginning, God's in the carrying on and God's in the concluding. It is God's salvation in the planning, in the providing in the gift of the person of Jesus Christ, and in the applying by the Holy Spirit. It is not a two penny halfpenny salvation that lasts for a day and then departs, but a salvation wrapped up wholly in Christ, for because He died our sin is put away, and His active obedience has wrought a robe of righteousness in which sinners may stand before the holy Law.

We pray therefore in the name of Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone salvation is found, that this man may be brought to that living faith of which it is written, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. May he be made to feel that he hangs in danger by nature, and may he hear Christ beneath him saying, Drop, and thou shalt be safe in the arms of Jesus. May he cease from seeking to save his own life by his own desires and his own false notions of identity, and may he lose his life for Christ's sake, that he may truly save it. For whatever Christ is, His people are in Him, and there is a vital union between Christ and all His saved ones. Oh that Christ might be in him, not merely Christ in the Bible shut up in a drawer, but Christ in the heart, Christ possessed, Christ experienced, Christ in him the hope of glory.

We ask the Lord to set his house in order. We are reminded that God is the great Landlord and we are but tenants in the house of this life, and our lease is short. Unless Christ comes to help a man, it is a hopeless task to set that house aright, for nothing is in order in the unregenerate heart. We pray that the Holy Spirit, who alone applies salvation, would correct in him all that is deficient and excessive and contrary to the Lord's mind and will, and would open his eyes to see that the identity man adopts when he strays from the narrow path and follows his own desires is a false and perishing identity. May he be brought to see his true identity in Christ, perfect in Christ Jesus, chosen in Him before the earth was, risen with Him and blessed in Him.

We pray also that he may hear the voice of God, not as a vague impression, but as the voice of the Shepherd through the written Word, applied to the heart. May he store up the things of Christ not merely in his brain to make him orthodox, but in his heart to bring him salvation, and may he learn that Christ is the Door, and that if any man enter in by Him he shall be saved.

We commend him to the mercy and grace of Him who reigns over all darkness and whose light expels it. May the Lord grant repentance and faith, that this soul may rejoice in Thy salvation, a certain and abiding salvation that makes heaven full of bliss. We ask this not for our own ends, but that all may see His greatness and power, and that this man may be found in Christ in that day.

Amen.
