Former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

Please pray that, in the name of Jesus, the landlord recognises his true identity in Christ, and that his eyes are opened to the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires.

We join you in praying for your former landlord and we agree with you concerning the truth of this powerful verse, for whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, will save it. Luke 9:24

We love your heart for his salvation and we stand with you asking that he would truly lose his life for Jesus in order to save it for eternity. This is the very heart of the gospel, to surrender our own will and our own way and to follow Christ. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

We also pray with you that he will hear the voice of God concerning His holy plan for his life. Jesus promised, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27 But we know the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. 2 Corinthians 4:4 So we pray that the light of Christ would expel all darkness and that every unclean influence would be driven away, for you are correct that our Lord Jesus reigns over the darkness and His light overcomes it.

We pray together for him now.

Father in heaven, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this former landlord to you. We ask for your mercy and grace upon him. Lord, open his eyes that he may see his true identity, not the false identity that man adopts when he strays from your narrow path and follows his own desires. We pray that the eyes of his heart may be enlightened, that he may know what is the hope of his calling. Ephesians 1:18 We pray that he would become a new creation in Christ and understand that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Lord, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation in Jesus name and we ask that even through this circumstance you would draw him to yourself, for you are not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 Guide him on his life's journey, reveal to him the narrow gate and the narrow way that leads to life, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it. Matthew 7:13-14

We ask that you would grant him repentance and faith to confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that you raised Him from the dead, so that he will be saved. Romans 10:9 Let him hear your voice clearly, surrender his life to your Lordship, and experience your love and faithfulness. We thank you for your great power that no one can withstand and for your willingness to save all who call upon the name of Jesus. We trust you to work in his heart in your perfect timing and we give you all the glory. Amen

Thank you for bringing your former landlord before the Lord with such care. It is a beautiful thing to want someone else to know the life that is found in Jesus, especially when there has been a difficult history like a rented apartment situation.

We hear your longing that he would hear God's voice and discover who he truly is in Christ. So much of what pulls us off the narrow path is the search for identity in our own desires or achievements, and that search never settles the heart. Finding our place in Christ gives a steadier foundation, not because we have earned it, but because we are known and loved and invited to belong to Him.

A simple way to keep carrying this burden is to keep praying briefly and regularly for him by name as you already are, releasing the outcome to the Lord while staying open if God ever gives you a natural moment to show grace or speak of what Christ has done for you.

Jesus, we lift this landlord to You. Draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to see You clearly, and help him hear Your voice and Your good plan for his life. Lead him into the true identity and wholeness that comes through knowing You, and give our friend peace as he trusts You with this man. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your desire to see this former landlord saved is a right and holy burden, and we do well to carry it to the throne of grace together according to the word you have set before us.

Our Lord has said, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. There is no other way of saving the soul but by losing it for Christ's sake. If a man would keep himself to himself, following his own desires and his own narrow path, he shall in the end lose all. But if he will lose himself, giving up self trust and self righteousness and casting himself wholly upon Jesus, he shall save his life unto eternal life. As we have elsewhere taught, if ever you are saved, your salvation must be God's in the beginning, God's in the carrying on and God's in the concluding, no salvation will ever serve your turn but one which is Divine from top to bottom.

We will pray that this man may indeed see God's Salvation. Wherever our eyes spiritually light upon the Christ of God, there we see God's Salvation. I learned that if I looked to Jesus, just looked, that was all, that if I simply trusted in Jesus, I would be saved. So may this landlord be brought to look and live. May he hear the voice of the blood of Christ which speaketh better things than that of Abel, for that blood cries of election and covenant mercy and of a price paid that the prisoner might go free. May the Lord who reigns over darkness cause His light to expel all darkness from him, that the evil which would keep him from Christ may dread and flee at the presence of Jesus, for Satan cannot endure the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We pray that his new life, if God grant it, may be life in Christ. The new life brings us near to God, makes us think of Him, makes us love Him, and ultimately makes us like Him. If his life rests in Christ, then even in his darkest frames still he lives in the ever living One whose life never changes. When Christ who is our life shall appear, then shall he also appear with Him in glory. May he find that if he has life it is only because he has Christ in him, the hope of glory, for Christ Himself must be found there as the very fount and substance of life.

We ask also that he may hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life, not the voice of his own heart nor the whisper of the world, but the sure Word of Christ. And we pray that he may come to know his true identity in Christ, for as Levi was in the loins of Abraham, so is every saint in the loins of Christ, and the life of Christ is representatively the life of all His people. Apart from Him man adopts a false identity when he strays from the narrow path and follows his own desires, but in Christ he is made a new creature and his life is hid with Christ in God.

Let us pray together. O Lord Jesus Christ, Thou who art the same yesterday and today and forever, look in mercy upon this former landlord. Grant him grace to lose his life for Thy sake that he may save it. Open his eyes to see Thee as God's Salvation, and enable him simply to look unto Thee and be saved. Give him ears to hear Thy voice and a heart to receive Thy truth, that he may turn from his own way and find his true life and identity in Thee alone. Let Thy light scatter his darkness and let Thy life become his life, that he may be dead indeed unto sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. We ask this not for any merit in us, but for Thy great love and faithfulness, and for the glory of Thy mighty power which none can withstand. Amen.
