Former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

Please pray that, in the name of Jesus, the landlord recognises his true identity in Christ, and that his eyes are opened to the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires.

We join you in praying for your former landlord and we thank you for bringing his soul before the Lord with such love and concern, asking that he would give his life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.

You have chosen a powerful verse and we stand on it with you. As Jesus said, For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. Luke 9:24. This is the heart of the gospel, that clinging to our own way, our own desires and our own control leads only to loss, but surrendering everything to Jesus leads to eternal life.

We also pray that he will hear the voice of the Shepherd, for Jesus said My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27. A person cannot truly hear God's voice concerning His holy plan until he is born again and has ears to hear through the Holy Spirit. And we pray that his eyes will be opened to his true identity, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Cor 5:17. The false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path is empty and leads to destruction, for narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life. Few are those who find it. Matt 7:14. We pray he will turn from following his own desires and enter through the narrow gate which is Christ Himself.

We agree with your declaration that Jesus reigns over the darkness and that His light expels all darkness, for the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5. No one can withstand His mighty power, and we trust in His mercy and grace to reach this man even now.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to You but through Your Son, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. We lift up this former landlord to You. Lord, we ask that You soften his heart and draw him by Your Holy Spirit. Convict him of sin and of his need for a Savior, and grant him repentance and faith to lose his life for Jesus so that he may truly save it. Open his eyes to see that a life lived for self is already lost, but a life surrendered to Christ is found and redeemed. Let him hear Your voice clearly and recognize his true identity not in what he owns or does, but as a sinner in need of grace who can become a child of God through faith in Jesus. We declare Your victory and Your light over every darkness and every unclean influence, and we ask for Your healing power to guide him on his journey and to bring reconciliation and peace where there has been strife concerning this rented apartment. May everyone involved see Your greatness and power and give You glory. We thank You for Your love and faithfulness that endures forever, and we trust that You desire all people to be saved and come to knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:4. We ask all this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for him with love and forgiveness, and if there was hurt or conflict in that rental situation, to release it to the Lord and bless him as Jesus commanded us to bless those who may have wronged us. Trust that God is working even when you cannot see it, and keep holding out the hope of the gospel to him as the Lord gives opportunity.

We appreciate your heart in this. Instead of holding onto frustration over the rental situation you are asking God to draw your former landlord to Himself, that is a loving and Christlike posture.

We join you in asking the Lord to work in his life, to help him hear God's leading and to show him who he can become in Christ. We know it can be discouraging when you do not see change right away. One thing we have found helpful to remember is that coming to faith and growing in it is usually more like long training than a single try. Your steady prayers are part of that longer work God may be doing, even when you cannot see it.

A simple next step that may help you keep entrusting this to the Lord is to keep praying for him by name for a minute or two each day, and to ask God to give you peace about the apartment matter as you leave it in His hands. If any further contact with the landlord is needed, ask the Lord beforehand for a calm and gracious way to speak.

Father, we lift this landlord to You in Jesus' name. Draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to Your love and truth, and guide him on his journey. Give our friend peace and wisdom as they continue to pray and trust You. Amen.

Your prayer for the former landlord is right and good before the Lord, and we join with you in it according to the word you have quoted, for our Lord Himself has said, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.

We pray that this man may hear the voice of God and may be brought to that blessed place of unconditional surrender, to fling wide the gates of his heart and admit Prince Emanuel to rule as sole sovereign there. No salvation will ever serve his turn but one which is Divine from top to bottom, God's in the beginning, God's in the carrying on and God's in the concluding. We ask the Father to show him that salvation is not a two penny halfpenny hope that lasts for a day, but a divine salvation planned in the eternal council, provided in the gift of the person of Jesus Christ, and applied by the Holy Spirit, for all salvation lies in Christ, because He died our sin is put away.

We pray in the name of Jesus that the Lord will grant him repentance and faith, that he may lose his life for Christ's sake and so truly save it, that he may drop into the arms of Jesus and leave his soul in the Saviour's hands, trusting the Lord Jesus Christ alone and being assuredly saved. For there is salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and none other.

We pray also that Christ may be in him, not merely Christ before him or near him, but Christ in him, Christ accepted by faith, Christ possessed and experienced, for Christ in you is the hope of glory. May the heavenly sun shine into his inmost soul by the Holy Spirit, curing his sin, filling him with love to holiness, and making him to know that whatever Christ is, His people are in Him. May his eyes be opened to see his true identity in Christ, and to turn from the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires. May the light of Christ expel all darkness from him, and may the Lord guide him in His holy plan for his life.

We commit also the rented apartment situation to the Lord, asking for His mercy and grace and for His healing power to bring peace where there has been strife, that all may see His greatness and power, for no one can withstand His mighty hand.

We thank the Lord for His love and faithfulness, and we ask these things trusting that He who has begun a good work will carry it on to completion, rejoicing in His salvation which is certain and abiding. Amen.
