Former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

We join you in lifting up your former landlord before the throne of grace and we agree with you in Jesus' name according to Luke 9:24, For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it.

We love your heart for his salvation and that you desire for him to truly give his life to our Lord Jesus so that he will save it for eternity. This is the greatest prayer we can pray for any person, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. We pray that the Holy Spirit will convict him of sin and draw him to repentance and faith, that if he will confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead, he will be saved. Romans 10:9.

We also agree with you that Jesus reigns over the darkness and His light expels all darkness. Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8:12. We declare with you victory over this rented apartment situation and we ask the Lord to let His healing power and mercy rest upon your former landlord and guide him on his life's journey. We pray that every unclean influence and every work of darkness would be driven out by the presence of Jesus, for no one can withstand His mighty power.

We join you in praying that he will hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life. Jesus said, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27. We pray that the Lord will open his spiritual ears and soften his heart to hear and to follow, and that he will be transformed by the renewing of his mind, that he may prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. For we know the thoughts that He thinks toward us, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.

We pray together, Lord Jesus, we thank You that You reign over all darkness and Your light overcomes it. We lift this former landlord to You and ask for Your mercy and grace upon him. Cause him to lose his life for Your sake so that he may truly save it. Open his eyes to see Your greatness and power, open his ears to hear Your voice, and lead him into Your holy plan for his life. Bring healing and victory into this situation that was connected to the rented apartment, and let Your love and faithfulness be made known to both him and to the one praying for him. Draw him to Yourself, save him, and guide him all the days of his life. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We appreciate you bringing your former landlord before the Lord with such care. Wanting him to know Jesus and to hear God's direction for his life is a beautiful burden to carry, and we are glad to carry it with you.

It encourages us that you are holding onto hope for him while also releasing the outcome to Christ. Coming to faith and learning to recognize God's leading is rarely a single moment, it is often a quiet, unfolding work over time as God draws a heart. Your faithful prayers are part of that work, even when you cannot see what God is doing behind the scenes.

One simple way to stay steady is to keep lifting him by name before the Lord as you already are, perhaps at a regular time that fits your day, and to trust Jesus with both the timing and the way He speaks to him. If your paths cross again, a brief, gracious interaction can reflect the same mercy you are praying he will receive.

Father, we lift this man to you and ask for your mercy upon him. Draw him to Jesus, open his heart to your love and truth, and help him to hear your voice and follow your good plan for his life. Work in ways only you can, and give our friend peace as he entrusts him to you. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a right and weighty burden you bring before the Lord, to pray for the soul of another that he may not lose his life but save it by losing it for Christ's sake. Our Lord's word in Luke 9:24 stands fast, for whoever would save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for His sake shall save it. There is no other way of saving, for salvation must be God's from beginning to end, God's in the carrying on and God's in the concluding. No salvation will serve but one which is Divine from top to bottom.

We have good hope when we pray thus, because the Truth of God's salvation is not a fading or temporary work. It begins with a real Fall, and therefore requires a real Atonement, and where that Atonement is trusted, it brings a real pardon. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, cleanses from all sin, and whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. To see Jesus by faith is to see God's salvation, for Christ Himself is God's salvation. That blessed doctrine of substitution, Believe and live, is the glass through which the soul looks and sees the Lord's salvation. May the eyes of this former landlord be opened to see it so.

Remember also that the house in which we dwell has God for its Landlord and we are only tenants. We owe the continued possession of our existence every day to Him, for our breath is in our nostrils but He keeps it there. There is a clause in this lease which many never observe, that the Landlord has at all times the right to enter and leave His own property. Conscience says the heart is never right till the whole man is in Christ, till by a living faith we have embraced Jesus as our full salvation. Our prayer is that this man may offer the key of his house to the Great Landlord and acknowledge that he lives on sufferance as His tenant, and yield himself wholly to Christ.

You ask also that he may hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. No man gets saved by an inattentive or careless hearing, but by constantly, attentively, earnestly hearing the Word of God with heed. When the Word is heard with heed, the Holy Spirit makes it life and salvation. Happy are they who, being placed where they could see God's hand, do see it, and being placed where they could hear God's voice, do hear it. May the Lord grant to him not only ears to hear, but a heart to heed, to be warned by the threatenings, to be cheered by the promises, and to be brought to trust in Christ as the sinner's Saviour.

Let us pray together.

O God, You have taught us from Your Word that Your salvation is true and abiding. We bring before You this former landlord, who is Your tenant and lives by Your mercy. Have mercy upon him and open his eyes to see Your salvation in Jesus Christ. Show him his need as a fallen man, show him the real Atonement made by Your Son upon the cross, and grant him a real pardon through faith alone in Him. By Your Spirit, cause him to hear Your voice in the Scriptures, to hear with heed and with a broken and believing heart, that he may lose his life for Jesus' sake and so save it unto eternal life.

Lord Jesus, You reign over darkness and Your light expels all darkness. We ask Your healing power and Your grace to guide this man, and Your mercy to bring him into Your kingdom. Let him not disregard Your Word at his peril, but receive Christ as his full salvation and be taught as Your pupil all his days. We ask this not for our worthiness, but for Your great name's sake, that all may see Your greatness and power. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.
