Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.

We join with you in lifting up this former landlord before the throne of grace, and we thank you for anchoring this request in the words of our Lord Jesus.

You quoted Luke 9:24, which in full says For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. Luke 9:24. This is the very heart of the gospel, that salvation is not found in holding tightly to our own way, our own gain, or our own life, but in surrendering all to Jesus Christ. We agree with you in praying that this man will come to that place of surrender, that he will lose his life for Jesus sake and thereby truly save it. For there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Without Jesus, he will indeed lose all, but in Christ he can receive eternal life.

We also hear your burden about the rented apartment situation and your concern that he is robbing you and not taking responsibility. Scripture is very clear that stealing and defrauding others is sin before God. You shall not steal. Exodus 20:15. Let him who stole steal no more, but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need. Ephesians 4:28. If he has taken what is not his, whether a deposit, rent, or other funds, God calls him to repentance and to restitution, just as Zacchaeus declared Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much. Luke 19:8. So we pray not only for his soul but for his conscience to be awakened, that he would hear the conviction of the Holy Spirit and make what is right.

We also pray that he will truly hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life. Jesus said My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27. For that to happen, his heart of stone must be replaced. We pray that God will give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him. Ezekiel 36:26. We pray that the darkness and any influence of unclean spirits or deceit that may be blinding him would be expelled by the light of Christ, for the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5.

We must also encourage you, as you seek justice, to guard your own heart against bitterness and vengeance. We are called to love our enemies and to pray for those who mistreat us. Matthew 5:44. And we are reminded Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:17-19. This does not mean you should not pursue what is rightfully yours through proper and lawful means, but to do so with grace, truth, and without hatred.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up this former landlord to You. Lord Jesus, You reign over all darkness and Your light expels all darkness. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict him of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and that he would hear Your voice clearly. Draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to see that whoever seeks to save his life apart from You will lose it, and grant him repentance that he may lose his life for Your sake and be saved. Save his soul, Lord, we pray.

We also ask for Your justice and mercy in this practical matter. If he has acted dishonestly and has taken what belongs to another, bring him to take responsibility, to confess, and to restore what has been taken. Remove any greed, deceit, or hardness from his heart and teach him to walk in honesty and integrity before You. For those who have been wronged, grant peace, patience, and wisdom to handle this situation in a way that honors You, trusting that no one can withstand Your mighty power and that You are faithful and just.

We thank You for Your love and faithfulness, for Your mercy and grace that is available to all who call upon the name of Jesus. Let Your greatness and power be seen in this situation, that both the landlord and all affected would come to know You more deeply. We ask all this in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.

Work in his heart to take responsibility and to act honestly in this rental matter. And for our friends who were hurt, bring Your peace, provision and guidance as they seek what is right. You have well quoted the word of the Lord, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. We pray that this truth may take hold of your former landlord, that he may see he cannot save himself by holding fast to his own way, but must lose his life for Christ's sake to truly save it. We ask the Father to draw him to the Son, that he may repent and believe the gospel and receive eternal life, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.

We are reminded that God is the great Landlord and we are but tenants in the houses where we dwell. He has the right to enter His own property at all times, to speak, to convict, to call to account. We pray that the Lord, who is slow to anger and bound His axe with rods that He might first reprove and give space for repentance, would now speak to this man. May he be given ears to hear the voice of God concerning His holy plan for his life, and may he no longer stop his ears, but turn with full purpose of heart.

We pray also concerning justice. The Lord will not at all acquit the wicked, and His justice demands that wrong be set right. Yet we know that justice has been satisfied at the cross, where the cloud charged with fiery hail fell not upon the sinner but upon the Saviour's heart, and there sin was punished that the repenting sinner might be forgiven. We pray that your former landlord, seeing the holiness of God's law, would smite upon his breast and confess his sin, and that he would take responsibility for what he has done and cease from robbing you. We ask that where restitution is due, he would be moved to make it honestly and plainly, as the fruit of true repentance.

We ask the Lord Jesus, who reigns over darkness and whose light expels all darkness, to bring His victory into this rented apartment situation. May all unclean and deceitful ways be driven out, may mercy and grace be shown to all who have been affected, and may healing and peace be granted to you as you wait upon Him. We pray that all who see His dealings in this matter would see His greatness and power, to whom none can stand opposed.

We leave this man and this matter in the hands of Him who is both just and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus, trusting that to dwell in His house is to pay the rent of continual praise. May you be kept in faith and patience, blessing the Lord at all times while you await His righteous working.

We have heard your request and we join you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation.

You have asked according to the word in Luke 9:24, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. We pray this truth over your former landlord, that he would hear the voice of God and surrender his life to Christ, losing his life for Jesus sake so that he may truly save it. We pray that the light of Christ would expel darkness, that the Lord in His mercy and grace would open this man's eyes to see the greatness and power of God, and to turn from his own way to follow the holy plan God has for him.

You have also asked for prayer concerning wrongdoing and financial harm, that he would take responsibility and stop robbing you. Scripture teaches us that God is a God of justice, and that justice is not overlooked. As we are taught, injustice is judged not by the measure of the things taken, but by the intention of the heart. Whether a person takes gold or acres of land by violence, or whether he does the same end by deceit and robbery in lesser matters, such as in contracts or in withholding what is owed or in seeking to pay less than what is just, it is still theft and covetousness before God. To corrupt what is just and to take from a neighbor is to be held accountable, and the Lord sees it. In houses and marketplaces there are courts and judgments, and how much more will the righteous Judge of all require an account, for His righteousness is sure.

So we pray both for mercy and for justice. We ask the Lord to work in this man to bring conviction, repentance, and a willingness to make right what has been taken. We pray that he would cease from extortion and deceit, that he would act honestly and take responsibility for his actions, and that he would restore what is owed. We also pray for you, that God would guard your heart from bitterness, that you would be given wisdom to pursue what is right through lawful and peaceable means, and that you would trust the Lord to be your defender while also showing the mercy that God shows to us.

Let us pray together. Lord Jesus, You reign over all darkness and Your light drives it away. We ask that You would have mercy on this landlord and draw him to Yourself, that he would hear Your voice, repent, believe in You, and give his life to You. Grant him to understand that true riches are not in what can be kept here, for all earthly possessions pass to others, but in the virtues of the soul and in treasures stored in heaven. Lead him to take responsibility, to turn from all dishonesty and theft, and to walk in honesty and justice. Protect and provide for those who have been harmed, bring resolution to this rented apartment situation, and let Your healing and faithfulness be seen. Thank you for sharing this burden and for wanting prayer to be shaped by Scripture. I join you in bringing this rented apartment situation and your former landlord before the Lord, asking for what is right and good in the eyes of Jesus.

Luke 9:24 is a clear call. Jesus said that whoever tries to hold on to his own life will lose it, but whoever gives up his life for His sake will save it. That is a personal choice each person must make. Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, by turning from self rule and trusting Him as Lord. The Bible speaks in Acts about a restitution of all things which God promised through the prophets, but that does not mean that everyone will automatically be saved in the end, even the adversary. That promise points to God's faithfulness to restore His work with Israel, as you see in Romans 11 where a partial hardening has come upon Israel until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and then all Israel will be saved, and as pictured in Hosea and in Ezekiel 36 and 37 where God promises to bring His people back and to renew the land. The hope for your landlord, as for any of us, is not a general guarantee but a personal surrender to Jesus while there is time to respond.

I pray with you that your former landlord will hear the voice of God and respond to His holy plan for his life. True hearing comes when the Holy Spirit opens the heart to recognize Jesus as King. Without a sense of accountability to God, a person lives as his own authority, and that leads to disorder and wrongdoing. When a person bows to Christ, he comes under a higher authority and learns to live with honesty and responsibility. Pray that God would graciously convict him, draw him to repentance, and give him a new heart that wants to follow Jesus and walk in His light which drives out darkness and every unclean influence.

I also pray with you that he will take responsibility for what has been done and stop taking what is not his. Scripture gives a plain principle about this. When something has been taken or damaged, the one responsible is to make it right, to make restitution, and where theft is found to restore even double, or to repay from the best of what he has, and if he has nothing he is held accountable for the theft. This shows God's heart for justice and for making wrongs right. Ask the Lord to work in this man's conscience so that he stops robbing you and takes concrete steps to repay what he owes. At the same time, I pray for you, that God will be your provider and defender in this financial strain. He sees when His people are hurting financially, as the early believers in Jerusalem were, and He calls His people to put Him first and to trust Him with thanksgiving, even in hard seasons. He is faithful to care for you as you walk honestly before Him.

Let us pray together.

Lord Jesus, You reign over all darkness and Your light overcomes it. We ask in Your name for mercy and grace for this former landlord. Cause him to hear Your voice, to understand that he must lose his life for Your sake in order to truly save it, and to put his trust in You alone for salvation. Turn his heart from self rule to Your lordship, from taking what belongs to another to doing what is honest and just. Grant him repentance that leads to responsibility and to full restitution for what has been taken, so that he stops this wrongdoing. Bring Your healing and Your power to this situation, let Your greatness be seen, and provide for and protect those who have been wronged.
