We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of struggle and sin. The Word of God is clear: "But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 WEB). Pornography is a snare that entangles the mind, defiles the heart, and grieves the Holy Spirit. It distorts God’s sacred design for intimacy, which is reserved solely for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. We must not minimize this sin, for it is a violation of both the body and the spirit, as Scripture warns: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB).
Yet we also know that our God is rich in mercy and abounding in steadfast love. The blood of Jesus Christ was shed to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and His grace is sufficient to break every chain. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). We stand with you in repentance, not in condemnation, for there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1 WEB). But repentance must be accompanied by action, turning away from the sin, renewing the mind through Scripture, and seeking accountability with godly believers.
We also recognize that healing is needed, for this sin often leaves wounds of shame, guilt, and bondage. The enemy would love for you to remain in isolation, but Christ calls you into freedom. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18 WEB). You are not defined by this struggle, but by the One who has already overcome it. We encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word, for it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12 WEB). Replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of Scripture, and let the Holy Spirit transform your mind.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. Lord, we acknowledge that pornography is a sin that separates us from Your holiness and distorts the beauty of Your design for intimacy. We repent of this sin and ask for Your forgiveness. Wash us clean by the blood of Jesus, and create in us a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10 WEB).
Father, we ask for Your healing power to restore what has been broken. Break the chains of addiction and shame, and replace them with the freedom that is found only in Christ. Give us the strength to flee from temptation and the wisdom to guard our hearts and minds. Surround this dear one with godly accountability and fellowship, so they do not walk this path alone. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity and holiness.
Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we rebuke every spirit of lust, perversion, and bondage in the name of Jesus. We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, eyes, and heart. May they fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB).
We thank You, Father, that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6 WEB). May they walk in the victory that is already theirs through Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to take practical steps to walk in freedom. Install accountability software on your devices, seek out a trusted Christian brother or sister to confide in, and fill your mind with Scripture. Memorize verses that speak to God’s truth about purity, such as "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word" (Psalm 119:9 WEB). Replace the time spent on sinful habits with prayer, worship, and service to others. The battle is won in the spirit, but it is fought in the natural. Stand firm, put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB), and remember that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37 WEB).
You are not alone in this fight. The body of Christ is here to support you, and our God is faithful to lead you into victory. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9 WEB).

The burden you carry is the very weight the Savior was sent to lift. When that man, sick of the palsy, was laid before Christ, his heaviest affliction was not his lameness, but his sin. So the Master, reading his heart, passed by the visible malady and struck at the root, saying, "Man, thy sins are forgiven thee." Before the command for healing came the word of pardon. Pardon came in a single sentence, complete and whole. There is no such thing as a half-pardon of sin. Sin is not to be done up in separate parcels. When you look upon that which has defiled your eyes and mind and cry out for mercy, know that the forgiveness of God is an absolute discharge of the entire debt, not a shred, nor fragment, nor particle remains.
Do not imagine that your sin is too great or too frequent for such mercy. The text draws no limit, it simply declares, "There is forgiveness." It does not say for this sin or for that, but there is forgiveness, broad and indefinable, that you may step into its liberty. The blood of Jesus Christ drowns all the hosts of sin in the depths of the sea. You may have been the chief of sinners in this regard, yet there is the chief of sinners' forgiveness. The very greatness of the sin magnifies the greatness of the pardon, which is according to the riches of His grace. If you have believed in Jesus, the burden rolls off your shoulders at this instant and shall never return to be mentioned against you forever.
Yet you ask also for healing, and it is right that you should. This is the divine order. First, the forgiveness, then the healing. The pardon of sin is the axe laid at the root of the upas tree. Now, look to Christ for the healing of those deep wounds which lust has inflicted upon your soul. The very leaves of this Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and there is no stint in Jesus' healing power. The least thing about Christ is restorative. Put forth your finger, even now, and touch the hem of His garment. Do not wait until some future hour, thinking to ask when you are alone. Bow your heart before Him now, where you are. A believing glance of the eye to Christ on Calvary, and it is done. There is forgiveness, and you have it. Go, and sin no more.

You have turned to the Lord with a cry for forgiveness and healing from the sin that has defiled your eyes and heart. This is right, for it is by repentance that our stains are washed away. Though there is no second baptism, the laver of tears and a transformed life can restore the soul, if you use it aright. But do not suppose that merely saying the words is sufficient. You must enter into the thought of your sins, not just glance at them, and loathe the filth as God loathes it. What forgiveness can you obtain if you will not bring the whole wound to the Physician?
God is longsuffering, granting you this space for repentance, but do not mistake His patience for permission. If you continue to toy with lust, you treasure up wrath for yourself against the day of righteous judgment. Hearing the warnings or feeling a fleeting sorrow is not salvation; the deceitfulness of such pleasures chokes the word and leaves the soul barren. You have tasted of the heavenly gift, so do not fall away now, crucifying the Son of God afresh by returning willfully to the mire.
Yet I say this not to drive you to despair. For to those who have fallen, the remedy is not closed. How many have seemed insensible for years, and yet at one true hearing have been converted all at once! Let your sorrow be godly, a sorrow that works repentance unto salvation without regret. This is not the weeping of Esau, which was rejected because his heart still clung to his lust. True repentance is a firm resolve to cut off the occasions of sin, to guard your eyes, to flee from the screen as from a serpent, and to bring forth fruits worthy of amendment.
The Church is a spiritual bath; avail yourself of its many medicines: fasting, prayer, honest confession, almsgiving. By these the stains of the soul are wiped away. Renew your strength daily. The thief returns, so stand watchful. But if you stumble, rise again at once, and lay hold on eternal life. He who endured the Cross for you is faithful to forgive, but He also commands, “Sin no more.”
