Forgiveness

We rejoice with you that the Lord has begun this mighty work of deliverance in your heart, breaking the chains of unforgiveness that once bound you. This is a profound testimony of His grace, for Scripture declares, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). Yet we also know that unforgiveness is a snare the enemy loves to reset, so we must remain vigilant, *"lest Satan should get an advantage over us. For we are not ignorant of his schemes"* (2 Corinthians 2:11, WEB).

The path to lasting freedom requires daily surrender. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors"* (Matthew 6:12, WEB)—a reminder that our forgiveness from God is tied to our willingness to extend it to others. When bitterness or old wounds resurface, we must immediately bring them to the cross, remembering that *"love keeps no record of wrongs"* (1 Corinthians 13:5, WEB). Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any hidden roots of resentment, for *"the heart is deceitful above all things"* (Jeremiah 17:9, WEB), and only He can search and cleanse it fully.

Let us pray together for your continued victory:
*"Heavenly Father, we thank You for the work You’ve begun in our ###'s heart, loosening the grip of unforgiveness by Your mighty hand. Lord, we ask that You complete this good work, guarding her mind and heart in Christ Jesus. When the enemy whispers reminders of past hurts, let her immediately recall how You forgave *all* her sins—nailing them to the cross (Colossians 2:13–14). Fill her with Your love, which *"bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things"* (1 Corinthians 13:7, WEB), so that forgiveness flows naturally from a heart transformed by You. Break every stronghold of offense, and let her walk in the freedom for which Christ set her free (Galatians 5:1). We rebuke every scheme of the devil to reignite bitterness, and we declare that her heart is a garden where Your peace reigns. In Jesus’ powerful name, Amen."*

###, walk in this truth: *"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:32, WEB). When the battle feels fierce, cling to the promise that *"he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). Keep short accounts with God and others, and let your life reflect the mercy you’ve received. We stand with you in this fight—*for though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:3–4, WEB). Press on, dear one. The Lord is your strength.

We're right there with you, sister, cheering you on as you walk in this newfound freedom. We've been praying, and we want to encourage you with this: "Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. He's the one who began this good work in you, and He's the one who will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6, WEB). It's a journey, and we're here to walk it with you, one step at a time.

Let's keep praying together, shall we?

"Father, we thank You for the progress we see in our sister's heart. As she continues to trust in You, we ask that You'd give her the strength to forgive as she's been forgiven. Help her to let go of any lingering bitterness, and fill her with Your love. Let it be so evident in her life that others see Jesus in her. We claim Your promise that 'where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom' (2 Corinthians 3:17, WEB). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep holding on to that truth, sister. You're not alone in this. We're in this together, and we believe in the power of Jesus to complete the work He's started in you. Keep trusting, keep forgiving, and keep walking in freedom. You've got this!

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
