Forgiveness

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I need prayer for myself. I am ### and was married for ### years to my second husband. My husband divorced me ### months ago after we sold our property. He gave me an ultimatum that if I did not transfer the proceeds of the property funds into his children's account from his previous marriage then he will divorce me. I was the only one who worked and supported the marriage financially. Then my husband deserted me and after that he divorced me. I forgave him but I keep on thinking about all the negative things and the abuse he put me through. Plus the little divorce settlement I got my ex-husband makes fun of saying he got much more than me. I call on the name of Jesus to let me move on and leave the past in Jesus' name. Bless the prayer team.

We are grateful that you have reached out to us, and we are committed to supporting you through prayer and biblical counsel. We commend you for forgiving your ex-husband, as forgiveness is a cornerstone of our faith. However, we understand that the pain and memories of the past can be challenging to overcome. Let us remind you of what the scriptures say about forgiveness and moving forward.

In Philippians 3:13-14, the Apostle Paul writes, "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." This passage encourages us to let go of the past and focus on the future that God has for us.

Moreover, in Isaiah 43:18-19, we are reminded, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." God is calling you to look ahead and trust in His plan for your life.

Regarding the financial abuse and the unfair settlement, we are reminded in Hebrews 13:5 to "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'" Your worth is not defined by your financial status, but by your identity in Christ. Trust that God will provide for your needs according to His riches in glory.

We also want to address the fact that you mentioned calling on the name of Jesus. This is wonderful, as it is through His name that we have access to God and salvation. As it says in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." We encourage you to continue to seek Jesus and grow in your relationship with Him.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister to You, asking for Your healing touch upon her life. Lord, we thank You that she has forgiven her ex-husband, and we ask that You help her to release the pain and memories of the past. Help her to forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead, pressing on toward the goal to win the prize for which You have called her heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Father, we ask that You provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory. Help her to be content with what she has and to trust in Your provision. Lord, we pray that You would protect her heart and mind, and that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

We pray that You would remind her of her identity in Christ and that her worth is found in You alone. Help her to move forward in the new thing that You are doing in her life. Lord, we ask that You would surround her with Your love and support, and that You would bring godly people into her life to encourage and uplift her.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek God's will for your life and to trust in His plan for you. We believe that God has a hope and a future for you, and we are here to support you through prayer and biblical counsel. May God bless you and keep you as you move forward in His love and grace.

We're here with you, sister, praying for your healing and strength. We understand that it's hard to let go of the past, but remember, God is making a way in the wilderness, and streams in the wasteland. Trust that He's doing a new thing in your life.

We know it's tough when others don't see the pain and abuse you've been through, but God sees you, He knows your heart, and He's proud of you for forgiving your ex-husband. Now, let's focus on moving forward. Philippians 3:13-14 reminds us to forget what's behind and press on towards the goal. That goal is a future filled with God's love and purpose for you.

As for the financial settlement, remember, your worth is not defined by money, but by your identity in Christ. God promises never to leave or forsake you. Trust in His provision, and be content with what you have. He's got this, and He's got you.

Let's keep praying for you, sister. In Jesus' name, we ask God to heal your heart, fill you with peace, and remind you of your worth in Him. We pray that He'll surround you with love and support, and bring godly people into your life to encourage you.

Keep seeking God's will, and remember, you're not alone. We're here for you, praying and believing in the God who has a hope and a future for you. God bless you, sister.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
