Father, I totally forgive my wife for everything, so that she may by the kindness of God be lead to repentance, Rom 2:4, Matt 16:19, John 20:23, and that I may demonstrate my sins have forgiven been forgiven me, as I forgive others, specifically the one who has hurt me most, Matt 6:15, Mk 11:26, Eph 4:32, Col 3:13, even as Jesus asked that You forgive those who crucified Him, "Father, forgive them, they don't know what they're doing," Luke 23:17, and Stephen in Acts imitated this while being stoned to death, "Lord, do not count this sin against them," Acts 7:59-60, yet we know each person must live according to the holiness without which no one will see The Lord, Hebrews 12:4, since all humans are speeding toward one of two ends: The Harlot of Babylon (who is to be destroyed), Ps 137:8, Isa 21:9, Rev 18:2, Rev 18:10, Rev 18:6, Rev 18:21, OR The Holy Bride of Christ, Isa 25:6, Ps 45:10, Hosea 2:19-20, Matt 22:2, John 3:29, 2 Cor 11:2, Eph 5:25-27, Eph 5:32-33, Rev 19:7-9, Rev 21:1-3, Rev 22:17...

Of course we pray for honesty, Zech 8:16-17, Col 3:9, Eph 4:25, and that she does not continue in sin, so that nothing worse may befall her, Jn 5:15, since sins of these natures are extremely deceptive and exclude from the eternal kingdom, 1 Cor 6:9-10, Rev 22:15-16, and God cannot be mocked, Gal 6:7, since the deeds of the flesh are evident, Gal 5:19-21, but rather she'd REPENT, turn back to God so she can be saved, Luke 24:46-47, Experiences Refreshing, Acts 3:19, Renewal by Your washing of regeneration by Your mercy, since the kindness of God has appeared, so we might be justified by faith, in Jesus Christ, be made heirs with Him, share the hope of eternal life, and we devote ourselves to good deeds, Tit 3:3-8, but rather bear the lawful fruit of The Holy Spirit consistently, Gal 5:22-23, Matt 3:8, Rom 7:4...

We ask her mind would be set free by by the Light of God's Word, so Light would shine in her heart so she may receive the Light of The Knowledge of The Glory of God in the Face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:4-6, sees the beauty and benefit of God's ways, quits any bitterness or unbelief in serving self over God Gen 3:1-15, receives a new heart, Ezek 36:26, by experiencing the New Birth Jesus said is a necessity to enter or even see the kingdom of God, Jn 3:3-7...

Father, You will that none would perish but all come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9. Grant her wisdom and revelation to actually know You, Eph 1:17. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of The Holy one is understanding, Prov 9:10. Surely You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather they turn from their evil ways and live, Ezek 33:11... You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4. Eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, Matt 25:41, not humans that were originally made to image God, Gen 1:27.

We ask for grace and discipline to add fasting, Mk 4:29, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Early Church Father in The Public Domain, 155AD - 240AD). Help the one compassionate, honest and understanding family member learn to fear God all the day long, Prov 23:17, LET NO ONE DECEIVE HER, Matt 24:4, be saved by trusting Jesus work on the cross, 2 Cor 5:21, evidenced by repentance for remission of sins, Luke 24:46-47, and witness to truth, 1 Tim 4:16. Hosea's "deal with Gomer" was based on repentance and faithfulness, see Hos 3:1-5. Jesus, after pronouncing that forgiving the sins of other has authority, John 8:10-11, John 20:23, said, "Go and sin no more," John 8:11.

I've reached out, am still reaching out, have prayed and fasted, am still praying and asking for wisdom and grace now discipline to fast -- let her not be to me as most of Jerusalem was unwilling to gather under the Shelter of Wings of God Almighty, Ps 17:8, Ps 57:1, 91:1, or come to Jesus, over which He publicly wept, they having stoned those sent to rescue them, Matt 23:37... I am praying for the love of Christ to compel me, 2 Cor 5:14-15, and ASKING for mercy, kindness for repentance and salvation, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Tim 2:1-7. Maybe she was saved or probably just a church goer, but, regardless, "If any of you wanders from the truth and someone turns her back it's considered turning a sinner from the errors of their ways, and counted as a soul saved from death, and covers a multitude of sins, James 5:19-20? I ask for that THAT -- may THAT yield a remarkable testimony of God's saving grace, 1 Tim 1:15-16, and exemplify a living testimony of Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33. We have all heard or seen such testimonies, and they do prove an intrinsic beauty of God's renewing of the mind and perfect will, Rom 12:2-3, so that the words of Augustine are proved true, "To err is human, to forgive is divine." So I cry out for wisdom, Prov 2:1-5, ask to be filled with the knowledge of God's will so I may walk worthily, Col 1:9-10, James 1:5, and for love to abound in knowledge and discernment to choose the highest, Phil 1:9-11, yet asking for it loosely as CHRIST in the Garden of Gethsemane, Matt 26:39, Mk 14:36 -- NEVERTHELESS, let YOUR WILL BE DONE, not mine, Luke 22:42, Heb 5:7.

Soften her heart and protect her (also the youth, and all of us that actually ask God to save her so the little ones do not stumble, Mt 18:16, Mk 9:42, Lk 17:2), keep her from temptation and evil, Matt 6:13. Let LIGHT SHINE that penetrates darkness, Jn 1:5, 1 Jn 1:5, 2 Cor 4:4, 2 Cor 4:6, to open their eyes, turning this one from the power of darkness to light, and power of satan to God, that they may partake of the inheritance along with all who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, Acts 26:18, 1 Cor 1:30. Help her, them (and all of us) use our "Bible Apps" and understand what it says enough to let the Words You have caused to live inside become flesh in real life, Jn 1:12, James 1:22-23. Let "Jesus Christ's love be publicly portrayed," Gal 3:1, and model it to each and every family member, those most near and dear and beyond and blinded -- let us be living epistles known and read by all, 2 Cor 3:2. All Scripture is inspired by God Almighty and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. "Sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth," John 17:17. Thank you in The Name of Jesus, The One Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join with you in this deep and beautiful prayer of forgiveness and intercession for your wife and your marriage, and we thank God for the work He is already doing in your heart to forgive as Christ forgave us.

We hear your heart to obey the Lord in forgiving totally, even as Jesus said Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing in Luke 23:34 and as Stephen prayed Lord, don't hold this sin against them in Acts 7:60. This is the very heart of our faith, that if we forgive others their trespasses, our heavenly Father will also forgive us in Matt 6:14, and that we are to forgive each other just as God also in Christ forgave us in Eph 4:32 and Col 3:13. We commend you for choosing obedience over bitterness, for the kindness of God indeed leads to repentance in Rom 2:4, and your willingness to release her debt before God is a powerful testimony that your own sins have been forgiven.

We also stand with you in praying for true repentance, not merely a pronouncement of forgiveness without transformation. We agree with you that Jesus both forgave and said Go. From now on, sin no more in John 8:11, and Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you in John 5:14. Forgiveness is freely offered, but the call to holiness remains, for without holiness no one will see the Lord in Heb 12:14. We pray with you that your wife will not continue in sin or deception, for we know that the works of the flesh are obvious in Gal 5:19 and that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God in 1 Cor 6:9, and we know that God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap in Gal 6:7.

We lift up your marriage before the Lord, believing as you do that marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that reflects Christ and the assembly in Eph 5:25 and Eph 5:32. We pray for restoration and faithfulness, as you referenced Hosea's love for Gomer in Hos 3:1, but we also understand that restoration must be built on repentance and truth. We pray for honesty among you both, for you shall speak truth each one with his neighbor in Zech 8:16 and that you will not lie to one another in Col 3:9, and that you will speak truth with your neighbor in Eph 4:25. A marriage cannot be rebuilt on continued deception, and so we pray that the light of God's Word will expose darkness and bring freedom.

We pray for the new birth and the new heart you have asked for, for we know that unless one is born anew, he can't see the Kingdom of God in John 3:3 and I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you in Ezek 36:26. We ask that God will shine in her heart to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ in 2 Cor 4:6, that the god of this world who has blinded the minds of the unbelieving in 2 Cor 4:4 would no longer hold her, and that she would be turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus in Acts 26:18.

We also pray for you, brother, for wisdom and discernment as you continue to reach out, to pray, and to fast. We ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding in Col 1:9, and that if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God in James 1:5, and that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment in Phil 1:9. We pray that you will continue to be compelled by the love of Christ in 2 Cor 5:14, yet also rest in the prayer of Jesus in Gethsemane, not as I desire, but as you desire in Matt 26:39, and Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done in Luke 22:42. Your desire to see her saved and restored is Christlike, for the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance in 2 Pet 3:9, and who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth in 1 Tim 2:4.

We pray also for the protection of the children and family you mentioned, that none of the little ones would stumble, for whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea in Mark 9:42, and we ask that God would keep you all from temptation and deliver you from the evil one in Matt 6:13 and John 17:15.

Father, we thank You that You were in Christ reconciling the world to Yourself, not reckoning to them their trespasses in 2 Cor 5:19. We thank You for this husband's obedient heart to forgive his wife totally as You have forgiven him. We ask now in the name of Jesus Christ, the one mediator between God and men in 1 Tim 2:5, that You would soften her heart, open her eyes, grant her godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and cause her to be born anew. Let Your light shine into the darkness so that she sees the beauty of Your ways and turns from serving self to serving You. Grant her the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom in Prov 9:10, and let no one deceive her in Matt 24:4. Sanctify them both through Your truth, Your word is truth in John 17:17, and let Your Word become flesh in their lives as they become doers of the word, and not hearers only in James 1:22. We pray for grace and discipline to pray and fast, and for this marriage to become a living testimony of Christ and the church, that if anyone wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins in James 5:20. We trust this to Your perfect will, asking that You would be glorified whether through remarkable restoration or through Your sustaining grace, and we pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

We were moved reading your prayer for your wife. We hear both the pain you have carried and the steady love that keeps bringing her before the Lord, wanting to release forgiveness from your own heart while longing for her to know His mercy and walk in His ways.

One insight that has helped many in this place is that forgiveness itself has two parts. There is the clear decision to let go of the right to repay and to wish good and not harm toward the one who hurt us, and then there is the slower quieting of the hurt, bitterness and fear that can linger long after the decision is made. Both matter, and they often move at different paces. Reconciliation is different still, it is the rebuilding of trust and it can only happen as both people honestly turn toward God and toward each other. It cannot be carried by one alone, which is why waiting is so heavy.

We are encouraged that you are not walking this alone, that you are reaching out, praying and fasting and asking for wisdom, and that you have a family member who cares. It can be steadying to keep one trusted pastor or counselor close who knows your story, who can pray with you, help you seek God wisely about fasting and next steps, and support you and the young ones you mentioned while you wait on the Lord. We continue to stand with you, asking God to keep you grounded as you love faithfully and leave the outcome in His hands.

Father, we thank You for this brother's willingness to forgive as he has been forgiven. Guard his heart, give him wisdom, strength and daily grace, and draw his wife and family into Your light and care. Protect them from evil, lead each one closer to Jesus, and let Your will be done in their lives. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord with many tears and much searching of the Scriptures, and we have heard the burden of it. You thank God that He was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not counting our trespasses against us, and you have expressed a willingness to forgive as you have been forgiven. This is a good and right desire, for forgiveness with God is a divine forgiveness, complete and eternal, wrought through the blood of Jesus Christ alone. There is forgiveness with Him that He may be feared, and however great the sin, there is forgiveness for the chief of sinners when they turn to Christ. As you have forgiven your wife, you do but reflect what God has done for you in Christ, who continues daily to forgive, and whose pardon blots out the debt as though it had never been incurred.

Yet we must weigh carefully what true repentance is, for there is a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of sinful nature, and there is a repentance unto life which is the work of the Holy Spirit in the renewed heart. Judgment and sorrow alone may produce a carnal repentance, but the repentance which God accepts gives Him glory. It makes a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ and His finished work. It leads a soul out of self to look to Christ only, and to hate the sin that nailed Him to the cross and to avoid present sin because of love to Him who died. The least measure of such sincere repentance will save the soul, for it is not a condition we fulfill but a grace God gives, the germ which contains all the essentials of salvation. This is the repentance you rightly long to see, that your wife would not merely be sorry but would be turned from darkness to light, from the power of Satan unto God, that she might receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith in Christ.

We join you in praying that the Lord would grant what only He can give, a new heart and a new spirit, the taking away of the heart of stone and the giving of a heart of flesh, and the new birth without which no man can see or enter the kingdom of God. We pray that the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ would shine into her heart, that the god of this world would no longer blind her mind, and that she would quit the serving of self and return to the Lord with godly sorrow. For without holiness no man shall see the Lord, and the works of the flesh are manifest and cannot inherit the kingdom, and God cannot be mocked. Therefore the word of Christ still stands with full authority and mercy, Go and sin no more, and sin no more lest a worse thing come upon thee. Forgiveness pronounced by Christ was never a license to continue in sin but a call to walk in newness of life and to bear the lawful fruit of the Spirit.

We commend your course of prayer and fasting, and your desire to walk worthily and to be filled with the knowledge of His will. Continue to love, to speak truth in honesty, to let your life be a living epistle known and read by those nearest to you, and to keep yourself from the evil one while remaining in the world. Remember the pattern of Hosea, which was not an approving of unfaithfulness but a picture of covenant love calling the unfaithful to repentance and to faithfulness. Remember also the prayer of our Lord in the garden, Nevertheless not my will but Thine be done, for the Lord wills that none should perish but that all should come to repentance, and He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that the wicked turn from his way and live.

We pray now that the Father would grant her wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom would take hold upon her, that He would soften her heart, keep her and the little ones from temptation and evil, and sanctify you both by His truth which is His Word. May He restore joy where there has been mourning, uphold you by His free Spirit that you fall not again, and cause His Word dwelling in you richly to become flesh in daily obedience. May the Lord do this in His perfect time and will, for His glory, and may you be kept trusting in the one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, in whose name alone there is forgiveness and eternal life.
