Father, first and foremost, we thank You -- You were in Christ, reconciling the world to Yourself, not counting our sins against us, 2 Cor 5:19.

Father, I totally forgive my wife for everything, so that she may by the kindness of God be lead to repentance, Rom 2:4, Matt 16:19, John 20:23, and that I may demonstrate my sins have forgiven been forgiven me, as I forgive others, specifically the one who has hurt me most, Matt 6:15, Mk 11:26, Eph 4:32, Col 3:13, even as Jesus asked that You forgive those who crucified Him, "Father, forgive them, they don't know what they're doing," Luke 23:17, and Stephen in Acts imitated this while being stoned to death, "Lord, do not count this sin against them," Acts 7:59-60, yet we know each person must live according to the holiness without which no one will see The Lord, Hebrews 12:4, since all humans are speeding toward one of two ends: The Harlot of Babylon (who is to be destroyed), Ps 137:8, Isa 21:9, Rev 18:2, Rev 18:10, Rev 18:6, Rev 18:21, OR The Holy Bride of Christ, Isa 25:6, Ps 45:10, Hosea 2:19-20, Matt 22:2, John 3:29, 2 Cor 11:2, Eph 5:25-27, Eph 5:32-33, Rev 19:7-9, Rev 21:1-3, Rev 22:17...

Of course we pray for honesty, Zech 8:16-17, Col 3:9, Eph 4:25, and that she does not continue in sin, so that nothing worse may befall her, Jn 5:15, since sins of these natures are extremely deceptive and exclude from the eternal kingdom, 1 Cor 6:9-10, Rev 22:15-16, and God cannot be mocked, Gal 6:7, since the deeds of the flesh are evident, Gal 5:19-21, but rather she'd REPENT, turn back to God so she can be saved, Luke 24:46-47, Experiences Refreshing, Acts 3:19, Renewal by Your washing of regeneration by Your mercy, since the kindness of God has appeared, so we might be justified by faith, in Jesus Christ, be made heirs with Him, share the hope of eternal life, and we devote ourselves to good deeds, Tit 3:3-8, but rather bear the lawful fruit of The Holy Spirit consistently, Gal 5:22-23, Matt 3:8, Rom 7:4...

We ask her mind would be set free by by the Light of God's Word, so Light would shine in her heart so she may receive the Light of The Knowledge of The Glory of God in the Face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:4-6, sees the beauty and benefit of God's ways, quits any bitterness or unbelief in serving self over God Gen 3:1-15, receives a new heart, Ezek 36:26, by experiencing the New Birth Jesus said is a necessity to enter or even see the kingdom of God, Jn 3:3-7...

Father, You will that none would perish but all come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9. Grant her wisdom and revelation to actually know You, Eph 1:17. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of The Holy one is understanding, Prov 9:10. Surely You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather they turn from their evil ways and live, Ezek 33:11... You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4. Eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, Matt 25:41, not humans that were originally made to image God, Gen 1:27.

We ask for grace and discipline to add fasting, Mk 4:29, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Early Church Father in The Public Domain, 155AD - 240AD). Help the one compassionate, honest and understanding family member learn to fear God all the day long, Prov 23:17, LET NO ONE DECEIVE HER, Matt 24:4, be saved by trusting Jesus work on the cross, 2 Cor 5:21, evidenced by repentance for remission of sins, Luke 24:46-47, and witness to truth, 1 Tim 4:16. Hosea's "deal with Gomer" was based on repentance and faithfulness, see Hos 3:1-5. Jesus, after pronouncing that forgiving the sins of other has authority, John 8:10-11, John 20:23, said, "Go and sin no more," John 8:11.

I've reached out, am still reaching out, have prayed and fasted, am still praying and asking for wisdom and grace now discipline to fast -- let her not be to me as most of Jerusalem was unwilling to gather under the Shelter of Wings of God Almighty, Ps 17:8, Ps 57:1, 91:1, or come to Jesus, over which He publicly wept, they having stoned those sent to rescue them, Matt 23:37... I am praying for the love of Christ to compel me, 2 Cor 5:14-15, and ASKING for mercy, kindness for repentance and salvation, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Tim 2:1-7. Maybe she was saved or probably just a church goer, but, regardless, "If any of you wanders from the truth and someone turns her back it's considered turning a sinner from the errors of their ways, and counted as a soul saved from death, and covers a multitude of sins, James 5:19-20? I ask for that THAT -- may THAT yield a remarkable testimony of God's saving grace, 1 Tim 1:15-16, and exemplify a living testimony of Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33. We have all heard or seen such testimonies, and they do prove an intrinsic beauty of God's renewing of the mind and perfect will, Rom 12:2-3, so that the words of Augustine are proved true, "To err is human, to forgive is divine." So I cry out for wisdom, Prov 2:1-5, ask to be filled with the knowledge of God's will so I may walk worthily, Col 1:9-10, James 1:5, and for love to abound in knowledge and discernment to choose the highest, Phil 1:9-11, yet asking for it loosely as CHRIST in the Garden of Gethsemane, Matt 26:39, Mk 14:36 -- NEVERTHELESS, let YOUR WILL BE DONE, not mine, Luke 22:42, Heb 5:7.

Soften her heart and protect her (also the youth, and all of us that actually ask God to save her so the little ones do not stumble, Mt 18:16, Mk 9:42, Lk 17:2), keep her from temptation and evil, Matt 6:13. Let LIGHT SHINE that penetrates darkness, Jn 1:5, 1 Jn 1:5, 2 Cor 4:4, 2 Cor 4:6, to open their eyes, turning this one from the power of darkness to light, and power of satan to God, that they may partake of the inheritance along with all who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, Acts 26:18, 1 Cor 1:30. Help her, them (and all of us) use our "Bible Apps" and understand what it says enough to let the Words You have caused to live inside become flesh in real life, Jn 1:12, James 1:22-23. Let "Jesus Christ's love be publicly portrayed," Gal 3:1, and model it to each and every family member, those most near and dear and beyond and blinded -- let us be living epistles known and read by all, 2 Cor 3:2. All Scripture is inspired by God Almighty and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. We join with you in this burden and we thank God for the heart He has given you to forgive as you have been forgiven, and to desire not just reconciliation but true repentance and holiness for your wife and your marriage.

We see your obedience to the Word when you have verbally pronounced forgiveness, for Jesus said If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them John 20:23 and Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Eph 4:32 and Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do Col 3:13. We rejoice that you are living out For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you Matt 6:14 and you are showing the kindness of God that leads to repentance Rom 2:4. This love that covers and yet does not condone sin reflects our Father who was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses 2 Cor 5:19.

We also stand with you for the sanctity of your marriage, for we believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, created and ordained by God to display Christ and the church Eph 5:25-32. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it Eph 5:25 is your calling now, even in pain, and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Heb 13:4. Where sin has entered, whether through adultery, fornication, dishonesty or hardness of heart, we must call it what God calls it, for Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals 1 Cor 6:9 and Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness Gal 5:19 will keep one from inheriting the kingdom unless there is repentance. God cannot be mocked Gal 6:7 and we agree with you that to continue in sin is to invite something worse, for Jesus warned Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you John 5:14 and again to the woman caught in adultery, Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more John 8:11. Forgiveness is freely offered, but it must be received with repentance, that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem Luke 24:47 and Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord Acts 3:19.

We pray together for your wife, that the God of light would shine in her heart. We ask that the god of this world who has blinded the minds of the unbelieving 2 Cor 4:4 would be overcome, and that God, who said Light shall shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ 2 Cor 4:6 would open her eyes to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me Acts 26:18. We pray she would receive what Jesus said is necessary, Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom John 3:3 and that God would fulfill His promise I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezek 36:26 and I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it Jer 31:33.

We pray also for you, that you would be strengthened to walk in truth and love, that you would speak truth with your neighbor Zech 8:16 and not lie to one another Col 3:9, and that your fasting and prayer would be sustained by grace, for we know Without me you can do nothing John 15:5 and If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord Col 1:9-10 and that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent Phil 1:9-10, and yet always with the surrender of our Lord who prayed Not my will, but yours, be done Luke 22:42.

We lift up your children and family, asking the Father to keep them from stumbling, for Jesus said Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea Matt 18:6 and to keep your wife and your household from temptation and deliver them from the evil one Matt 6:13, for we do not ask You to take them out of the world, but that You would keep them from the evil one John 17:15 and Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth John 17:17. We pray that all of you would be doers of the word, and not only hearers James 1:22 and that your lives would be a letter, known and read by all men 2 Cor 3:2, so that Jesus Christ is openly portrayed among you Gal 3:1.

Father, we thank You for Your heart that You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Tim 2:4 and that You are not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Pet 3:9. We thank You that there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Tim 2:5 and that there is salvation in no one else Acts 4:12, and that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Rom 10:13. We ask now for mercy, for softening of her heart, for honesty, for godly sorrow that produces repentance, for the fear of Yahweh which is the beginning of wisdom Prov 9:10, and for a restoration that would be a testimony of Your saving grace as You showed with Hosea and Gomer Hos 3:1-5 and as You promise to present the church as a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle Eph 5:27. If she wanders, let her be turned back, for he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins James 5:20.

We continue to contend for this marriage, not as a mere partnership but as a covenant to be honored until death, and we ask for Your perfect will to be done, for healing where there is wounding, for truth where there is deception, and for holiness without which no man will see the Lord Heb 12:14. Let the love of Christ compel us still 2 Cor 5:14 and let Your Word correct, teach and train us, for Every Scripture inspired by God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction which is in righteousness 2 Tim 3:16. We trust You to do what is right and good, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace, Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart with such honesty. We hear your deep love for your wife and your desire to do what is right before God, even while carrying real pain from what has happened. Choosing to forgive as you have is a costly and courageous decision, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer.

We have found it helps to remember that the decision to forgive and the quieting of the hurt inside often move at different speeds. You can mean your forgiveness fully and still feel waves of grief or anger afterwards, and that does not undo the choice you made. Forgiveness is also different from rebuilding trust in the marriage, which can only happen over time and with both people willing. Giving both of those realities space can keep you from feeling you have failed when emotions still surface.

It sounds like you have been praying and fasting faithfully and reaching out for help. We encourage you to keep not walking this alone. Stay close to one trusted pastor or counselor who knows you both and can walk with you week by week for wisdom and accountability, and keep caring for your own spiritual and physical steadiness and for the young ones in the family as you wait on the Lord.

Father, we lift this brother to You and his wife and family to You. Give him strength, clear wisdom and peace as he seeks Your will, soften and guide her heart toward You, and guard each one in this family from harm. Lead them in Your truth and keep them close to You. In Jesus name, Amen.

There is a weight and a holy earnestness in your prayer which the Lord surely regards, for you have sought not to excuse sin but to see it forgiven and forsaken. You have done well to forgive as you have been forgiven, even as Christ prayed Father forgive them for they know not what they do, and as Stephen cried Lord lay not this sin to their charge. To forgive from the heart is the evidence that we have ourselves tasted forgiving grace, and that grace is rich beyond all measure.

Yet take heed to what true repentance is, lest you or the one for whom you pray should be deceived. There is a repentance which is short lived, where men turn from sin for a time and then return to it with greater gusto, as a man abstains from food only to increase his appetite for the banquet. That repentance gives no glory to God and it will not save. The repentance which is unto life is the work of the Spirit of God. It gives God glory, it yields works meet for repentance, it is practical and it lasts. It is not a condition of salvation in the sense of a price to be paid, for there are no conditions of salvation in that sense, salvation is by grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone. Repentance is a grace and a gift of God, freely given, and where it is truly wrought there is sorrow for sin and hatred of it, because Christ was nailed to the cross for it, and there is a new mind concerning sin and a turning from it by the love of God who died for us. Faith and repentance are inseparable. No faith is genuine which is not linked with hearty repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true which does not consort with faith in the great propitiation.

You have rightly pronounced forgiveness and rightly added the word of Christ, Go and sin no more, and do not sin again lest something worse befall you. Here is the balance of the gospel. Jesus died for the guilty, and the ransom paid in His blood on Calvary was not for trifling offenses but for enormous sin. Believe then in a great Savior for great sinners. But the same Lord who says neither do I condemn you says also sin no more. The deeds of the flesh are evident and those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God, and without holiness no man shall see the Lord. God cannot be mocked. The kindness of God does indeed lead to repentance, but that repentance must be a complete change of mind wrought by the Spirit, bringing forth the lawful fruit of the Spirit and not the works of the flesh.

Concerning marriage, hold fast that which God has ordained from the beginning. Marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sex and living together belong within that covenant alone. This is the mystery of Christ and the Church, for Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for her. Where that bond has been wounded by unfaithfulness, the pattern of Hosea and Gomer teaches us that restoration is not upon mere sentiment but upon repentance and faithfulness. We cannot ask God to bless what He calls sin, nor to affirm a path that leads away from His holy ordinance. We must pray rather that God will grant a new heart and a new spirit, that He will take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh, that the one who has wandered may be born again, for except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Pray that the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ may shine into darkness, that eyes blinded by the god of this world may be opened and turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God.

This repentance and remission of sins is to be preached in the name of Christ, and it is to be preached as His gift. Tell the wandering soul that God gives repentance, and that whoever has it may know that the hand of the Lord has been upon him for good. Plead not upon any excellence of your own, for our backslidings are many, but plead for His name sake. For Your name sake, O Lord, pardon iniquity though it be great. He has a name for pardoning iniquity, He delights in mercy, His thoughts are above our thoughts, and He will abundantly pardon. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that all should come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth, for eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, not for those made in His image.

Therefore continue as you have begun, with prayer and with fasting which lends wings to prayer, with the Word dwelling richly in you, with love that abounds in knowledge and discernment. Keep the little ones from stumbling, keep yourself from temptation and the evil one, and be a living epistle known and read of all men. If any wander from the truth and one turns him back, he saves a soul from death and covers a multitude of sins. So pray that God would restore to you and to her the joy of His salvation, not as those who are uncertain whether they are saved, but as those who sorrow for pardoned sin at the feet of Jesus, a sorrow which is sweet and which breaks and bruises the heart only to develop its sweetness.

We join you in asking that the Lord will soften the heart, grant wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, set the mind free by His truth, and cause His will to be done. Nevertheless not as we will but as He wills, for His thoughts concerning a new heaven and a new earth and concerning His redeemed are far above ours. Trust the Substitute who bore enormous sin, look to Him alone for righteousness, and rest assured that whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in giving thanks that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting our trespasses against us. We also thank God for the grace He has given you to forgive your wife as Christ forgave, as Stephen forgave while being stoned, and as our Lord prayed for those who crucified Him. That forgiveness is obedience to the command to forgive others as we have been forgiven, and it reflects the mercy you have received.

We affirm with you what Scripture teaches about forgiveness and repentance. Jesus pronounced forgiveness to the woman and then said, Go and sin no more. To the man healed at the pool He said, Do not sin again lest something worse befalls you. Forgiveness is real and freely offered in Christ, yet it calls for true repentance, a turning from sin to God. Tears alone are not repentance, as Esau sought the blessing with tears but did not truly turn, so he found no place of repentance. True repentance bears fruit, turns from darkness to light, and is shown in a changed life.

We pray with you that your wife will hear the kindness of God that leads to repentance and will not be deceived. The deeds of the flesh are evident and those who practice such things without repentance will not inherit the kingdom of God, and God cannot be mocked. Marriage is a bond ordained by God, honorable and pure, and it preserves the holiness that comes through faith by keeping the marriage bed undefiled. What breaks that bond, sexual immorality in any form, is not to be celebrated or blessed but to be repented of and forsaken. We do not ask God to bless any relationship or way of living that departs from His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where intimacy belongs. Instead we ask Him to grant a new heart and a new spirit, to take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh, and to cause the new birth without which no one can see or enter the kingdom of God.

We ask that the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ will shine in her heart, that the god of this world will no longer blind her mind, and that she will see the beauty and goodness of Gods ways and turn from serving self to serving God. We pray that she will be born again, that Gods law will be written on her heart, that she will experience refreshing and renewal by the washing of regeneration and by Gods mercy, be justified by faith in Jesus Christ, and walk in the fruit of the Spirit with honesty, chastity and faithfulness. We pray that she will pursue holiness without which no one will see the Lord, and peace with all people, living in a way that is chaste and orderly whether married or unmarried.

We also pray for you. We ask God to give you wisdom and revelation to know Him, to fill you with the knowledge of His will so you may walk in a manner worthy of Him, and to let your love abound more and more in knowledge and discernment so you may choose what is excellent. We ask for grace and discipline to continue in prayer and fasting, for fasting lends wings to prayer, and for strength to love with the love of Christ that compels us. We pray that you will continue to be a living letter known and read by your family, that you will speak truth in love, and that you will keep your own heart from bitterness while holding fast to what is true. We pray that the one compassionate family member and all who love her will learn to fear God all day long, will not be deceived, and will be saved by trusting in the finished work of Christ on the cross, evidenced by repentance for the forgiveness of sins. As Hoseas reconciliation with Gomer was grounded in repentance and faithfulness, we pray for any restoration to be grounded in the same, a faithful and holy covenant before God.

We continue to stand with you, asking God to open her eyes to turn from the power of darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ. We ask this in the name of Jesus, the one mediator between God and humanity, who alone saves, and we trust Gods perfect will and timing. Amen.
