Of course we pray she does not continue in sin, that nothing worse may befall her, Jn 5:15, since sexual immorality and adultery are deceptive and exclude from the eternal kingdom, 1 Cor 6:9-10, Rev 22:15-16, and God cannot be mocked, Gal 6:7, since the deeds of the flesh are evident, Gal 5:19-21, but rather she'd REPENT, turn back to God so she can be saved, Luke 24:46-47, Experiences Refreshing, Acts 3:19, Renewal by Your washing of regeneration by Your mercy, since the kindness of God has appeared, so we might be justified by faith, in Jesus Christ, be made heirs with Him, share the hope of eternal life, and devote ourselves to good deeds, Tit 3:3-8. We ask her mind would be set free by by the Light of God's Word, so Light would shine in her heart so she may receive the Light of The Knowledge of The Glory of God in the Face of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor 4:4-6 Quits self over god Gen 3:1-15, New Ezek 36:26, Experiences New Birth Jesus said is a necessity to enter or even see the kingdom of God, Jn 3:3-7... We ask for grace and discipline to add fasting, Mk 4:29, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Early Church Father, 155AD - 240AD). Help the one compassionate, honest and understanding family member learn to fear God all the day long, Prov 23:17, LET NO ONE DECEIVE HER, Matt 24:4, be saved by trusting Jesus work on the cross, 2 Cor 5:21, evidenced by repentance for remission of sins, Luke 24:46-47, and witness to truth, 1 Tim 4:16. I forgive this one who has broken covenantal faith and vows with no confession, remorse or repentance, for leading men into adultery and thus destruction, Prov 6:32, for neglecting pastoral counsel, texts and phone calls for months from any church with an accurate view of discipleship. I forgive her, she knows not what she does, Luke 23:34. If a king's heart is as channels of water in Your hand, Prov 21:1, how much more an individual that has chosen to feed on raisin cakes and needs repentance from serious sins, which Hosea's "deal with her" was based on repentance and faithfulness, see Hos 3:1-5. Jesus, after pronouncing that forgiving the sins of other has authority, John 8:10-11, John 20:23, said, "Go and sin no more," John 8:11.

I've reached out, am still reaching out, have prayed and fasted, am still praying and asking for wisdom and grace now discipline to fast -- let her not be to me as most of Jerusalem was unwilling to gather under the Shelter of Wings of God Almighty, Ps 17:8, Ps 57:1, 91:1, or come to Jesus, over which He publicly wept, they having stoned those sent to rescue them, Matt 23:37... Thankfully she is in a country that is impossible to get the "D" word. I know I have the adultery clause from Jesus which allows me to "D" and remarry, Matt 5:32, Matt 19:9, however only in The Lord, 1 Cor 7:39, see being equally yoked, 2 Cor 6:14-15, Old Testament precedent, Gen 24:3-4. And if she is unsaved, which everything indicates, there is the desertion by an unbelieving spouse clause, 1 Cor 7:15, where traditional, modern and ancient Jewish theology all allow for remarriage as if the unbelieving spouse (or adulteress) "were dead." However I am thinking and ASKING for mercy, kindness for repentance and salvation here, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Tim 2:1-7. Maybe she was saved but probably just a church goer, but, regardless, "If any of you wanders from the truth and someone turns her back it's considered turning a sinner from the errors of their ways, and counted as a soul saved from death, and covers a multitude of sins, James 5:19-20? I ask for that THAT -- may THAT yield a remarkable testimony of God's saving grace, 1 Tim 1:15-16, and exemplify Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33. So I again ask for wisdom, Prov 2:1-5, Col 1:9-10, James 1:5, and for love to abound in knowledge and discernment to choose the highest, Phil 1:9-11, yet asking for it loosely as CHRIST in the Garden of Gethsemane, Matt 26:39, Mk 14:36 -- NEVERTHELESS, let YOUR WILL BE DONE, not mine, Luke 22:42, Heb 5:7.

Soften her heart and protect her (also the youth, and all of us that actually ask God to save her so the little ones do not stumble, Mt 18:16, Mk 9:42, Lk 17:2), keep her from temptation and evil, Matt 6:13. Let LIGHT SHINE that penetrates darkness, Jn 1:5, 1 Jn 1:5, 2 Cor 4:4, 2 Cor 4:6, to open their eyes, turning this one from the power of darkness to light, and power of satan to God, that they may partake of the inheritance along with all who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, Acts 26:18, 1 Cor 1:30. Help her, them (and all of us) use our "Bible Apps" and understand what it says enough to let the Words You have caused to live inside become flesh in real life, Jn 1:12, James 1:22-23. Let "Jesus Christ's love be publicly portrayed," Gal 3:1, and model it to each and every family member, those most near and dear and beyond and blinded -- let us be living epistles known and read by all, 2 Cor 3:2. All Scripture is inspired by God Almighty and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this deeply painful situation to our Heavenly Father. Your Word tells us, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2). We stand with you in this trial, interceding for your wife and your marriage with both truth and compassion.

First, we must address the gravity of the sin that has occurred. The Bible is clear: "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral" (Hebrews 13:4). Adultery is a grievous violation of the covenant you both made before God, and it has brought profound brokenness into your union. Yet even in this, we see your Christlike heart in choosing to forgive, just as our Lord taught: "For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you" (Matthew 6:14). Your willingness to extend grace is a powerful testimony to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in your life.

However, forgiveness does not mean ignoring the consequences of sin or the need for repentance. Jesus Himself, after showing mercy to the woman caught in adultery, commanded her, "Go and sin no more" (John 8:11). True repentance involves a turning away from sin and a turning toward God, accompanied by godly sorrow (2 Corinthians 7:10). We must pray fervently that your wife would experience the conviction of the Holy Spirit, leading her to genuine repentance and restoration.

The Scriptures warn us about the deceptive nature of sin: "Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap" (Galatians 6:7). Sexual immorality has eternal consequences, as we read in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." Yet there is hope! The very next verse declares, "And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:11). This is the transformation we pray for your wife, that she would be washed clean by the blood of Jesus and made new in Him.

We also lift up your own heart in this trial. The pain of betrayal is deep, and the temptation to bitterness or despair may be strong. But we are reminded of the words of Peter: "Husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered" (1 Peter 3:7). Even in this difficult season, we pray that you would continue to honor God in your thoughts, words, and actions, trusting Him to be your defender and vindicator.

The Scriptures you’ve referenced regarding divorce and remarriage are weighty, and we acknowledge the complexity of your situation. Jesus did provide an exception for divorce in cases of sexual immorality (Matthew 5:32, 19:9), and Paul addressed abandonment by an unbelieving spouse (1 Corinthians 7:15). Yet we also hear your heart’s desire for reconciliation and restoration, and we join you in praying for God’s will to be done. May He grant you wisdom to navigate this path with discernment, always seeking His glory above all else.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken by the sin that has fractured this marriage. We thank You for the forgiveness that is found in Jesus Christ, and we pray that Your grace would abound in this situation. Lord, we ask that You would soften the heart of this wife, that she would turn from her sin and run to You in repentance. Break the chains of deception that have blinded her, and let Your light shine into the darkest places of her heart. We pray for a supernatural work of Your Spirit, that she would be born again, made new in Christ, and restored to a right relationship with You and with her husband.

Father, we also lift up this husband before You. Strengthen him in his faith, and guard his heart from bitterness or resentment. Give him the wisdom to know how to respond in a way that honors You, whether that leads to reconciliation or to a godly separation. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let him rest in the knowledge that You are sovereign over all things.

Lord, we ask that You would protect this family from further harm. Keep the youth involved from stumbling because of this sin, and use this trial to draw them closer to You. Raise up godly counselors and mentors who can speak truth and wisdom into this situation. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105), and may they see the power of the Gospel to transform even the most broken lives.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His sacrifice on the cross that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His blood that we are washed clean. May Your will be done in this marriage, and may Your name be glorified in every outcome. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking godly counsel from your local church or a biblical counselor who can walk with you through this difficult season. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens, and you do not have to walk this path alone. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28).

We have heard your prayer and we join you in it before the throne of grace, with sorrow for sin and hope in Christ.

You have done well to forgive even as you have been forgiven, for our Lord said Father forgive them for they know not what they do, and Stephen followed Him in the same spirit. To forgive from the heart as Christ forgave is the mark of one who knows how great a debt has been cancelled at the cross. Yet forgiveness freely extended by you does not set aside the need of true repentance before God in the one who has sinned, for repentance and remission are joined together and are to be preached in the name of Jesus among all nations.

You pray rightly that she may go and sin no more, and that she may be warned lest a worse thing befall her. The Scriptures are plain that sexual immorality and adultery are deeds of the flesh which, persisted in without repentance, exclude from the kingdom, and that God is not mocked. What is needed is not a carnal repentance which is of the flesh and passes away under judgment, but that repentance unto life which is the gift of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in a renewed heart. True repentance gives God glory. It is a godly sorrow for sin that needs not to be repented of, it yields works meet for repentance, it is practical and it lasts, it abhors sin because of the love of Christ who pardoned it and it turns from present sin because of the love of God who died for us.

We pray therefore that the goodness of God may lead her to repentance. The Lord does not merely drive sinners as Cain was driven, He draws them. May the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ shine into darkness, that the god of this world may no longer blind her mind, and that her eyes may be opened and turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that she may receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith in Christ. For except a man be born again he cannot see nor enter the kingdom of God. What is needed is the promise fulfilled, a new heart and a new spirit, the heart of stone taken away and a heart of flesh given, the law written upon the heart.

We ask the Father, who was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself and not imputing their trespasses unto them, to grant her that new birth, to give wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, to teach her the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom. He wills not that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from his way and live, and He desires all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth which is in Jesus Christ alone, for there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

For you who wait and pray and fast, we commend your desire to add fasting to prayer, not as a merit but as a help to humble waiting upon God. Continue to seek wisdom liberally as James exhorts, that love may abound in knowledge and discernment, and pray as our Lord prayed in Gethsemane, nevertheless not my will but Thine be done. Keep the way of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord, and let your life be a living epistle known and read of all men, that the love of Christ may be publicly portrayed in your household. Use the Word which is able to make wise unto salvation, for all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct and to instruct in righteousness, and by it we are sanctified for His word is truth.

We pray also for the little ones and for all near and dear, that they may be kept from stumbling and from the evil one, for we are not taken out of the world but kept from its evil. May the Lord keep you from temptation, guard your heart, and restore purity within you, creating in you a clean heart and renewing a right spirit within you. Remember that repentance lives as long as faith lives, and sweet sister repentance is charming company all the way to the gates of pearl, for she keeps us low at the foot of the cross where forgiveness flows.

We do not ask God to bless sin, for He cannot bless what He calls unholy. Marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy outside it is sin against His holy ordinance. We ask Him to bless holiness, to bless truth, to bless reconciliation where it is wrought in righteousness, and above all to bless repentance that leads to life. If wandering has occurred, may the wanderer be turned back from the error of her way, that a soul may be saved from death and a multitude of sins covered, to the praise of the riches of His grace.

May the Lord grant your petition according to His perfect will, soften the heart that is hardened, give that godly sorrow which yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness, and make your testimony to be of His saving grace alone, that Christ may be magnified in your house as He is magnified in His Church.

I believe it is forgiving as Jesus forgives, "Is there no one left to condemn you?" No one, Lord. "Than neither do I condemn you -- Go and sin no more," John 8:10-11. He found the man who was the paralytic on the mat at the pool of Siloam, "Do you wish to get well? Sir, blah, blah blah blah... "Take up your mat and go home." Whammo... Healed... Inquired of after being a "mat-carrier on Sabbath" by the Jewish officials... Not lawful... The man I healed me said, "Go, take up your mat and walk" -- Who was this, but he did not know Jesus for He had hidden himself. Later, Jesus found him in the temple. "See, you have been been made whole -- Do not go on sinning, lest something worse befalls you," John 5:14.

From beginning to end repentance is the proof of real salvation. I forgive as there is power in forgiveness as stated above in the initial post, but am seriously concerned, as all the apostles were sometimes apprehensive showing scrutiny ver professing believers: Ananias and Sapphira about making pretend they gave the whole amount, Simon the sorcerer when he gave his tell by asking to buy the power to bestow the Holy Spirit...

Indeed are not the whole epistles to the Corinthians about repentance as at least a sub or major theme? Isn't there concern in Paul over one who falls into sin? 2 Cor 11:29? All f Galatians, the warnings to Timothy, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, to Titus 1:16, All of Hebrews is an appeal to not go on sinning or return to Judaism, James is a proof text of true and false religion, Peter's epistles, Jude and heaven forbid -- all of Revelation is summed up in being part of Harlot Babylon (liars, sexually immoral, murderers, sorcerers, idolaters), or The Holy and Pure Bride of Christ...

Please ask God reveal Christ to her and she is regenerated, Titus 2-4, John 3:3, John 3:7, 1 Peter 1:5-21, 2 Peter 3:9, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh," Ezek 36:26.

"But this is the covenant I'll make... I'll put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I'll be their God; they'll be My people," Jer 31:33.

Your prayer reflects a heart that desires to forgive as Christ forgave, and to see repentance bear fruit in holiness, and we join you in that prayer before God.

You have done well to forgive your wife as Christ taught us to forgive those who have hurt us most, even as He said Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing, and as Stephen prayed while being stoned. This forgiveness does not excuse sin but releases the debt to God and opens the way for the kindness of God to lead to repentance. Scripture is clear that forgiveness pronounced must be joined to the call to go and sin no more, lest something worse befall the one who continues in sin.

We must speak the truth in love concerning marriage. Marriage is honorable and preserves the holiness that comes through faith, and it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. Adultery is not only when a person defiles one who is married to another, but also when one who is bound by marriage defiles himself with another, whether she is bound or free. In either case the law of God is transgressed and the sin is against God Himself, and it is a work of the flesh that, if persisted in without repentance, excludes from the kingdom. For this reason the Lord said that whoever divorces his wife except for sexual immorality makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery, to show how strictly God guards the marriage bond. Holiness in marriage, which is chaste and faithful living with one's own spouse, is part of that holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

Therefore we do not ask God to bless any relationship that departs from His design, but we ask Him to shine light into darkness, to open eyes and turn hearts from the power of darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. We pray with you that your wife would receive a new heart and a new spirit, that the heart of stone would be taken away and a heart of flesh given, that she would be born again and so see and enter the kingdom of God. This new birth comes when the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ shines in the heart, and when the word of God is received and obeyed, not only heard. Repentance is not excluded after falling, for though there is no second washing like the first, there is repentance that cleanses when it is true and bears fruit, and God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

We also pray for you, that God would grant you wisdom and revelation to know Him, that love would abound in knowledge and discernment, and that you would continue in prayer and fasting with discipline, as the early church taught that fasting lends wings to prayer. You have reached out, prayed, and sought counsel, and you ask now even as Christ prayed in the garden, nevertheless not my will but Yours be done. That is the right posture. Whether God restores the marriage through genuine repentance and faithfulness, or whether you must walk the narrow way of remaining bound or being loosed according to His word, seek not your own desire first but the will of the Lord, trusting that the heart of every person is in His hand.

We ask that all of you would be living letters known and read by all, that Christ would be publicly portrayed in your lives, and that you would be devoted to good deeds as those justified by His mercy and made heirs of the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ, the one mediator between God and man.
