For those who are looking for salvation.. Romans 10.9-10.. If you confess with your is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Also confess and turn from your sins. Follow and obey Jesus Amen.. Read and study, Matthew, Mark, Luke, And John in the bible.. Start In the book of John.

We thank you for sharing this good news and for pointing those who are seeking toward salvation in Jesus Christ, for this is the most important decision anyone will ever make.

We agree with what you have shared and we love the scripture you have pointed to, for it is written in Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. We also remember Acts 4:12 which tells us there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, and John 14:6 where Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

You are right to encourage those who believe to also confess and turn from their sins, for true faith leads to repentance and obedience. As it is written in Acts 3:19, Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. And we are saved by grace through faith, not by our own works, as Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches, for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. Yet when we are truly in Christ we become a new creation as promised in 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new, and we desire to follow and obey Him out of love.

Your advice to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, starting in the book of John, is excellent counsel. In John we so clearly see the love and deity of Christ, and John 3:16 reminds us, For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. The Gospels show us who Jesus is, what He has done for us on the cross, and how He calls us to live.

We join together in prayer for all who are seeking salvation today.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up every heart that is searching for You. We pray that You would draw them by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and give them faith to believe in Your Son whom You raised from the dead. Grant them courage to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and to turn away from sin and turn toward You. Wash them in the blood of Jesus, blot out their sins, and make them new creations. Help them to hunger for Your Word, to begin in the Gospel of John and to continue through all of Scripture, and to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their lives. Let them know the assurance of salvation and the joy of walking with You. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our salvation, amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart for those who are searching. We can hear your care for others to know Jesus and walk with Him, and we are grateful you took the time to write and encourage anyone reading.

It is a gift when someone simply points others toward Jesus and toward getting to know Him in the Gospels. Starting in John as you suggest is a steady place to begin, hearing His words and His life up close, and letting that shape daily following and obedience one step at a time.

We are praying your words reach exactly who needs them, and that you are encouraged as you keep sharing. If you have a local church family, staying rooted there while you read and share with others can be a real help, with others to walk alongside you, answer questions, and pray with you. We are with you in prayer for this work and thankful for your faithfulness.

Father, thank You for Your grace that saves and changes us. We ask You to draw near to each person who is searching today, give them clarity and hope as they seek You, and strengthen our friend as they share Your love with others. Help us all to keep following Jesus faithfully. In Jesus' name, amen.

The word which you have set before us is indeed the very gate of salvation, and worthy to be held forth to every seeking soul. With the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. There is a due order here and there is a clear connection. Faith comes first and confession follows, and the result of the two together is salvation. That which you privately and personally rest upon for salvation you are to publicly and emphatically avow before God and before men as the ground of your confidence.

Take care that you understand what this faith and this confession mean. To confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord is not a mere repeating of words, but a personal avowal, I am the Lord's. No man can perform your religion for you. Your faith must be your own faith, your repentance must be repentance for your own sin, your coming to Christ must be your own coming. And to believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead is to rest the whole weight of your soul upon the finished work of Christ crucified, risen and reigning.

You have rightly added that we must confess and turn from our sins, for faith and repentance are inseparable. They come into the soul together, like Siamese twins, the one never living without the other. The repentance which ejects sin as an evil tenant and the faith which admits Christ to be sole Master of the heart must go together. No faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with hearty and sincere repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Jesus.

See to it that yours is not a carnal repentance, after the manner of the flesh, which is of no heavenly sort and gives God no glory. True repentance, the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts, gives God glory. It makes a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ. It is a repentance unto life, the germ which contains all the essentials of salvation. You must not think that you will be perfect in repentance before you are saved, for there are degrees of repentance as there are degrees of faith, and the least repentance will save the soul if it is sincere, even as the least faith, though it be but as a grain of mustard seed, being true faith in Jesus, is precious faith and saves.

Remember also that repentance lives as long as faith. It is not a thing to be gotten through at the commencement and then put aside. We shall need to believe and to repent as long as we live. Yet we rest not upon our faith, nor upon our repentance, nor upon our prayers or conquests of sin, but upon Jesus Christ Himself, who is all our salvation, the Alpha and the Omega, the Author and Finisher of faith. Simple faith is always the work of the Spirit, and it is by the Spirit that we continue to exercise it.

Your counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and to begin in the book of John, is wise. There you will see the glory of the Son of God, that believing you might have life through His name. Sincere faith must treat all God's Word alike, and to begin with John is to behold Him who was lifted up that whosoever believes in Him should not perish.

May the Lord, by His Spirit, lead every seeking soul to this personal faith and this open confession, to a repentance that needs not to be repented of, and to a life of following and obeying Jesus. May He restore unto you the joy of His salvation and keep you looking wholly unto Christ, for He has said that you shall have peace if you believe on Him, and He will not run back from that word.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
