It is right and beautiful to pray for those who are seeking salvation, and God delights to hear such prayer. The Scripture you shared is the very heart of the gospel, that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

This confession is not empty words. As you said, it is joined to turning from sin and following and obeying Jesus. True faith brings a sense of our own sin, a humble condemning of ourselves, and a longing for the Redeemer and His forgiveness. When we repent and bring forth fruit worthy of repentance, we show that our faith is real. Christ Himself made the good confession before Pilate, and He strengthens us to confess Him faithfully before others, not only with doctrine on our lips but with a life that follows Him.

I pray now for every person who is seeking salvation, that the Lord will open their eyes to see their need, grant them repentance, and draw them to Himself. May they believe in their heart that Jesus died and rose again, confess Him openly as Lord, turn from their sins, and receive justification and new life through Him alone. Upon that true confession Christ builds His Church, and I pray they will be added to it and healed and saved by His grace.

I also pray for you as you share this good news, that God will give you boldness and love. Your counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning with John, is wise, for there they will meet Jesus Himself, His words, His works, His cross and resurrection, and learn what it means to follow Him. May all who seek continue in His Word and find eternal life in His name. Amen.
