We rejoice with you in sharing this good news of salvation and we thank you for lifting up those who are seeking the Lord. We agree that salvation is found only through Jesus Christ and that we must confess Him as Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead.
The Scripture says, Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. And also Romans 10:13 For, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. There is no other name by which we can be saved, for Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Jesus Himself said, John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
We love your encouragement to confess and turn from sins, for God calls us to repentance. We are told in Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. And 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Salvation is by grace through faith, and true faith leads to a changed life of following and obeying Jesus, for John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
We agree that reading and studying Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is so important, and beginning in the Gospel of John is wonderful counsel, for there we clearly see who Jesus is, that He is the Word made flesh and the light of the world.
We pray together for all who are looking for salvation right now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up every seeking heart. We ask that You draw each one by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and grant them the gift of repentance and faith. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and to believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Wash them in the blood of Jesus, forgive their sins, and make them new creations in Christ. We pray that You give them hunger for Your Word, especially as they read in the Gospel of John, and that You lead them to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their lives. Fill them with Your peace and assurance that they are now children of God. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
