For those who are looking for salvation.. Romans 10.9-10.. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Also confess and turn from your sins. Follow and obey Jesus Amen.. We rejoice with you in sharing this precious truth and we thank God for your heart to point those who are lost toward salvation in Jesus Christ alone. We agree that this is the most important message anyone can hear and we stand together on the Word of God that declares Romans 10:9-10 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We affirm what you have shared that true salvation is not merely words but a heart that truly believes and turns from sin. The Scripture teaches us Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out and 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. To follow and obey Jesus is the evidence of a changed heart, for Jesus said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We are encouraged by your counsel to read and study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning in the book of John, for there we meet Jesus Himself, His life, His death and His resurrection. As it is written John 20:31 but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name. And John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

We join together now and pray for every soul who is looking for salvation and reading these words. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that You draw each seeking heart by Your Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Lord, help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and to believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Wash them in the blood of Jesus, forgive their sins, cleanse them from all unrighteousness, and make them new creations in Christ. Give them a hunger for Your Word and strength to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their life. Let them grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. We pray that they will turn from their former ways and walk in newness of life, trusting not in their own works but in Your grace, for Ephesians 2:8-9 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. Keep them and establish them in the faith. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We were encouraged to read your note and your desire to see others come to know Jesus. It is a beautiful thing to want people to experience the forgiveness and new life you have found, and to point them simply to confessing Him as Lord and trusting Him from the heart.

Your testimony to the simple gospel is most timely and true, and I thank God for your desire to see souls saved. That word from Romans is a sure anchor, that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Upon the incarnation, life, death and resurrection of Jesus our salvation hinges. He who believes these truths of God aright has believed the gospel and shall without doubt find eternal salvation. Our Lord Jesus was really man of the seed of David, and truly God, and His resurrection was the acceptance of His sacrifice, evidence that He had fully endured the penalty which was due to human guilt. Whoever believes in Jesus Christ is as free from the guilt of sin as Christ is, for He took the sins of His people and died in the sinner's place, and being Himself set free, all His people are set free in their Representative.

You have rightly joined confession with turning from sin, for faith and repentance are inseparable. Our Lord commenced His ministry with these two love notes, repent and believe the gospel. We must not undervalue repentance. It is a blessed grace of God the Holy Spirit and absolutely necessary unto salvation, yet it is not a terror that drives men to despair, but a godly sorrow unto salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. This repentance glorifies God, for then we hate sin with a perfect hatred because it is hateful to the heart of Jesus, and mourn that we pierced the Lord.

Remember also that salvation is of the Lord in every part, in the planning before creation, in the execution upon Calvary where God has done it all Himself, in the application where He makes the unwilling willing and brings the vile rebel to the feet of Jesus, and in the ultimate perfection of it. Therefore we preach repentance and remission of sins in His name among all nations, and repentance itself is the gift of God. If you have even the least measure of it, if it is sincere, the least faith saves and the least repentance will save the soul, for it is the germ which contains all the essentials of salvation.

Let no seeker think he must have a full and complete view of the guilt of sin before he may come, or that he must perfect his repentance before he is saved. If there is no good thing in you whatever, yet it remains true that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. Nothing limits this whoever, for whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. Jesus will never be a part Saviour. We trust not in our repentance or even in our faith, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary's tree. He will give you true repentance and deep self abhorrence as you come to Him, for what He desires in the inward parts He must also bestow.

How sweetly does Jesus our Lord sound. When the true church takes Jesus Christ to be her Lord it is in a marriage bond that shall never be dissolved. To confess Him as Lord is to own Him as Master and Saviour forever, and our common joy in Jesus our Lord becomes an evidence of grace.

Your counsel to read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, beginning in the book of John, is wise. There you will see the glory of the Son of God, that you may believe and in believing have life in His name. Continue steadfastly in the Word, follow and obey Jesus as His disciple, not to earn salvation but because salvation has been freely given.

May the Lord grant to every seeking soul that gracious repentance which glorifies Him, and that simple faith which rests on Jesus alone. I pray that any who now confess their sin and trust the risen Lord will find Him faithful to forgive, to cleanse, and to keep. Lord, we believe, help our unbelief, and grant us grace to quit our sin and to give Thee glory for Jesus sake. Amen.
